Cambridge Mill Ratings and Reviews

This was our first experience dining at the Cambridge Mill and we were very pleased. The setting along the Grand River was impressive as was the interior décor. The food and service were excellent but we did find that the menu was limited. We will most definitely be back.

I had been here once before for the Sunday Buffet (which is unbelievable and incredibly tasty and varied) and already enjoyed the atmosphere, location and food options. This recent visit was to meet with a friend and we were seated in a nice, quiet spot with a great view - though I couldn't really see any seats which didn't allow for a great view - and wonderful food selection! Even my not-so-fine dining husband was able to find a number of things which interested him. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely make an effort to return when possible!

One year anniversary dinner was out standing! Was met with a congratulatory glass of champagne then given a suggestion on the best bottle of wine we had ever tried!
The atmosphere and ambiance was breathtaking!
The food was even better! Art on a plate! I had the five spiced lamb that was the best in the business well my better half had a beautiful salmon with the best spiced mango rice!
The server we had was outstanding! I wish I would have caught his name but he made out experience over the top!
Safe to say my first time to the cambridge mill will not be my last!

Overall a very nice experience. Gave noise level higher as table beside us had loud voices not so much the whole restaurant. My date enjoyed his steak very much. I was disappointed in Cornish hen option. I probably should have gone for the fish. Service and ambiance was excellent. Beautiful decor in restaurant. Even though I had made a cake back home for my date it was nice that a complimentary piece of cake was given to my date for take home.

Cambridge Mill is the #1 rated Cambridge on TripAdvisor, and while this was my first trip to Cambridge, and only meal, I'd probably agree.
From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles. The setting is wonderful, with floor to ceiling windows out to the river, and tiered seating for those seated further away.
The lunch menu is small, but covers everything from appetizers, to salads, to sandwiches, burgers and mains. We both had the tuna melt, one with fries and one with caesar salad. The bread was hearty to hold up the toppings, the tuna wasn't goopy, and there was plenty of cheese to hold in together. The fries were made with real potatoes! And the caesar salad was lightly dressed, not heavy.
We each had a beer, a Creemore and a Ramblin' Road Red Rover (from the wonderful folks at Picards!). We ended with coffees and a shared lemon bomballini (of which half came home).
If I get back to Cambridge, I'd definitely eat here again.

My husband and I went for our 1st year wedding anniversary and the entire experience was spectacular! The food was amazing!!! Started with oysters on the half-shell, followed by the double smoked pork chop for myself and the five spice lamb for my husband - we both left feeling completely satisfied and I even took home some left overs. The cost isn't cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for - amazing food and good portions.
The drinks were fab as well - the peach julep in particular was soooo delish.
The waiter as well, so helpful and friendly, and was very happy to take pictures for it.
Recommend it 100%

the front desk was quick to find us a seat which looked out over the river. I really liked how the tables aren't crammed together so you weren't bumping into anyone if you had to get up. We had the Prime Rib special and it was fantastic and our waitress was very attentive.

Attended with friends in from out of town. Wanted to show them some of the nicer restaurants the area has to offer. We were seated in a booth with a lovely view of the weir on the Grand River as the sun was setting. Service was not optimal but they managed although the restaurant was not busy on the Sunday night. Food was very good. Definitely worth a visit and a likely return trip.

Fantastic food, as always. Went for Sunday Brunch (go for 9:30 to the early bird and save $10pp!) They finally have it down that they shuck the oysters (almost) faster than people can eat them. Most tender peameal I've ever had. Carving station was great. My brother couldn't get enough of the fresh-made waffles. The crepes are great with 3 choices of booze to flambé. Fresh juice, endless coffee and tea, smoothies, mimosas all add to the experience. Try to sit in a room other than where the hot food is, as it can become a little noisy here. Window seats provide wonderful views of the river: saw ducks, a blue heron, scullers practicing their rowing, and a train went over the trestle. Great experience. Might be considered a little pricey, but for what you get, it's a value (especially when compared to Toronto or Vegas buffets).

My sisters and I took our Mom for dinner to celebrate her 70th Birthday, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was wonderful. To top it all off the service was equally wonderful. From the hostess who took a family photo for us, to the funny, delightful server "Brad". Brad made out experience that much more enjoyable. Factor in the bartender who waited on us until our table was ready and the witty bus boys who brought food to our table and all in all it was the perfect evening!

My husband and I went for dinner for our anniversary. We ordered bottle of chardonnay which was brought to our table, opened and served with our waitress knowing it was warm. I would have appreciated her to have said it would be bit of wait as the wine wasn't quite chilled the way it should have been.
When you are spending $48 for a bottle of wine you shouldn't have to wait for the bottle to be half gone before it's cold.
We just recently returned to the mill after previous poor service and I think it will be a while before we return again.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Would offer more vegetarian choice. My wife, a vegetarian, asked if the chef could prepare a vegetarian pasta as the menu did not offer her much in the way of options. The chef did accommodate, but more menu options for vegetarians would be a better avenue. Perhaps as part of the daily specials if that still exists. We were not offered any during our visit. Overall, the experience was fantastic.

My partner and I had such a lovely time. The service was great and the food was amazing. My partner said it was the best steak he had ever had (really good for the price too). We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne and wrote 'happy anniversary' on the board our dessert came on. We were very thankful our friend recommended this restaurant. We immediately wanted to go back the next day for lunch.

server was very cheerful, helpful and efficient
food was quite tasty...salad was fresh and plentiful...steak was prepared to request perfectly...frites were a tad limp...wine suggestions were helpful...recommendation hit the mark...shared a very delectable dessert despite the crisp topping of the crème brulee being torched a tad too long...all in all...fine birthday celebration spot for our foodie friend...we are considering how soon we can return for a repeat performance...

Although the restaurant was not totally packed, some items had not been replenished at the buffet. Whilst the server was great at removing plates between courses, we had to request clean flatware for our dessert. Our designated driver was disappointed by the berry banana smoothie, which was a tiny glass of juice with no discernible banana in it. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant and relaxing event.

The cobb salad has always been a favorite, but very disaapointed that the Mill no longer serves it with the chicken breast. A $9 surcharge for chicken seemed a bit excessive when it used to be included
Still the best place to go in Cambridge for a good meal with a lovely view and good service

A good value and an excellent place for celebrating a special occasion such as an anniversary . We recently celebrated ours there and got the best table in the place at the corner here we could overlook the falls and the Grand River Our waitress was excellent and very helpful We even got a sparkling wine for each of us complimentary of the house due to it being our anniversary. I highly recommend it and will be back

Had the Monday night steak dinner for two and it was good but did not expect it to be steak pieces. I expected a steak and not steak pieces. I felt the food was good but not great with good value and great scenery in a somewhat modern looking facility in an old building. Loved looking at the water and the hero surfing dinner. Our waiter was fabulous.

We had dinner there on Sunday and liked it so much we came back for lunch on Monday, food was really good, one steak not quite cooked exactly as desired, therefore 4 stars, otherwise service was really good, steak was taken off the bill, I gesture that was not expected or requested but much appreciated.
Overall, a great place, loved it.

We have been visiting the Mill since it opened. The service has always been top shelf however the price goes up far too often and the food selection is shrinking.
Plank salmon gone
At some point soon at 49 per person, the venue will lose its value and they will be in trouble.
