Cagneys Ratings and Reviews
Love the Rock Bear Shiraz! Great ribs and awesome rice! Nice, friendly and love the new look!
Good for parties and events - but louder groups in the middle of the dining room make it loud for those in the booths on the outside of the room. (and crowded when coming/going).
A little pricey but still one of my favourite spots.
Went here for my girlfriends and I two year anniversary. Evening started out very nice, excellent waiter, he was very friendly, wine and appetizers were great, but then came our main course, my girlfriend ordered the steak, that nights special, which was nothing more then a jiggly hunk of fat, we got it thrown back onto the grill and even after that it was still extremely poor, at a nice restaurant like this I would expect a manger or chef to come out and apologies, but instead an extremely sorry waiter, who did seem genially sorry about the food. For a steak house, the steak was not good, everything else, was ok, but subpar compared to the cost of everything
For a steak place, each steak my friends ordered was over cooked. My wedge salad had so much dressing on it that even the waitress acknowledged it, but failed to correct it. The prices were extremely high in relation to the food quality and level of service received. Expected much more. Pretty disappointing.
The apps, dinner and atmosphere was amazing. The reason I gave service a 3 is he was very attentive and nice but I couldn't eat the creme brule because I didn't like it and he asked me do u want me to see if I can have it taken off. The creme brule was left on bill he shouldn't of asked it just should of been done. So overall great experience would definitely go back.
Overall it was okay. We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary , we ordered fried calamari, the cut was so thick, and it tasted really chewy. I had the French onion soup, looked presentable, unfortunately it was very salty. And lastly my husband had the N.Y. steak medium rare and it came out cold. Instead of replacing it, it was just covered up with hot olive oil. I can say we've tried the place, but wont be returning.
Our server, Jacqueline was excellent.
hardly 3 tables were occupied on a Sunday evening, so it was very quiet. have been here a few times when it is very busy.
The men in the group ordered Steak and Lamb and were super happy. They had Crab Cakes and Oysters for their starters.
I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Cream and Sage sauce, which was tad too sweet for my taste. Suggest they serve it with Sage an better sauce which would be the ideal combo for this.
We had the Crème Brulee for dessert and it had just the right amount of sweetness, not overly. So everyone enjoyed it!!!
It was for my wife's 30th birthday and we were not disappointed. She had the prime rib. I went for the burger. We polished off both the plates and our server gave us a nice treat for my wife's birthday. I would definitely be coming back to this establishment. Server's were on point. I can't stress how valuable that is since I myself have been in the food industry for about a decade.
Was there with colleagues from work - we'd been before and remembered the food being good.
We didn't remember the outfits on the waitresses being so low cut though. It was bordering on being inappropriate for a place to go with coworkers. If it was dinner, maybe, but it was lunch.
I wouldn't recommend this place for work, but it's okay for casual outings with friends.
Upon being seated by the host we had to, along with the server, walk sideways past a table in the middle to the two rows of booths. The server even joked about it. The table had about 15-20 persons and it was very loud but they soon left and sure enough staff set up the table again. When the patrons at this table stood up their rear ends were almost touching our table.
The food was fair. I had the prime rib; not nearly as good as the Keg prime rib. It was undercooked to the medium rare I asked for. My husband has the seafood pasta which he said was just okay. The waitress asked it I wanted bacon bits and cheese on my baked potato but neglected to say that it would be an additional $2.99. A six oz. glass of house wine was $13.00 but again the price was not on the wine menu and the waitress did not disclose and I did not ask however if I had known I would not have order a 9 oz glass with my meal that was $19.00. (31.00 for two glasses of wine???) Compare that to the $7.00 for a scotch and soda that my husband had. Won't be going back.
The food was really good. The place is very pretty and clean and nicely laid out. The waitress a little inexperienced especially with opening wine but she was pleasant enough. After dinner we went for a drink in the bar, received a very frosty reception, was quite disgusted with the servers attitude. This only picked up after we paid and was leaving. Then she smiled.
Last minute decision turned into awesome Prime Rib find! Went back a second time just for the prime rib. Beautiful decor and comfortable seating. Brought my kids, and even though they're not really a kid friendly restaurant, our server was great to accommodate them. Our second time there was for a surprise baby sprinkle for my bff. The service was great and they even let us bring our own cakes for no extra charge. Eat here. You won't be disappointed.
Went for our Anniversary, it was beautiful (been many years ago before the Reno)
Food is still fantastic as it has always been, a little pricey but it wasn't outrageous.
Service was okay, our server was knowledgeable but not really warm and friendly just kinda going through the motions, however don't let this deter you as another server for the table next to us was giving them amazing service. All in all I would return again.
Food was absolutely excellent. Service was great. Server skirts were a bit short. My date felt that it was similar to hooters that way. Not unacceptable by any means, skirts just a bit short. Noise level was acceptable to a bit loud. Could use some better anechoic sound dampening. A little on the pricy side but certainly not excessive for food quality. Absolutely lovely touch of cheesecake for dessert for my date's birthday. Scored a big tip for that move !!!!! :-)
Cagneys is now more of an upscale trendy restaurant. Years ago (25+) it had more of a family casual feel but they have successfully redesigned themselves. Although their prices have increased dramatically, we did not feel let down. The prime rib is excellent (order the small cut, portions are huge) and the Caesar salad and coffee are still as good as they have always been. We will definitely be back....maybe not as often as before due to the prices, but we will definitely be back.
Food was superb. Prime was amazing. Rockefeller couldn't have been better. My daughter's first time having Oysters and she enjoyed it (my husband and I as well) Only thing was the New York Steak, my son didn't quite how it was season. All else was amazing. I would highly recommend Cagneys.
food was very good but service was quite slow even though there was only a few customers. waiter was friendly and did his best in spite of slow service from the kitchen. waited 30 minutes for appetizer and another 30 minutes for main course. Food quality made up for it though.
We went her for my birthday because it was recommended by my sister. Restaurant was beautiful inside staff was very friendly but the food wasn't that great. Out of the 5 meals one was done very well rest were missing seasoning and undercooked. When paying a high price for your meal you expect it too be a lot better.
The food was amazing but I felt my bill was just a little too much. Can't go wrong with the lobster tails and King crab legs. They put a cool twist on a traditional ceasar which I really enjoyed. The half price oysters on Mondays are a must have if you love oysters as much as I do! They are very fresh and a good size. The ceasar salad was worth the trip alone! So creamy and flavourful. You can't go here and not have the ceasar salad. Good wine by the glass selections and an extensive bottle menu. Overall a nice night out but it will definitely cost you a few bucks. I will probably return one day. Cheers!
I brought my mom here for Mother's Day, as she was craving a good prime rib and we read reviews that said Cagneys was a great place for it. The restaurant decor is nice, but music was very loud the night we were there.
We started with calamari and Caesar salad, both of which were good. My mom and sister both had the prime rib, which was tough. I ordered the rack of lamb, which was cooked well, but under seasoned.
My biggest knock on this place was the wine. I'm a strong believer in house wines, as I've been to restaurants with great house wines, and seeing as Cagneys' full restaurant name is "Cagneys Steakhouse & Wine Bar", I assumed that the house wine would be at least decent. I was very, very wrong. The glass of wine I received had a foul, spoiled taste and when I notified the waitress, she told me that the house wine isn't good and it's the cooking wine they use. She offered to take that glass back. I ended up purchasing another glass of wine, but there was chunks of cork in it! This, again, was extremely disappointing because you would think that a place that is confident enough to put Wine Bar in its name would train their staff to properly uncork a bottle of wine. However, I did not notify our waitress of this, as she was very busy.
Overall, it was an okay experience. The food was typical of a steakhouse - overpriced and unimaginative. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, but I do wish that she warned me about the house wine beforehand.
