Enjoyed another great meal at Lurcat. We had a wide selection off their starter, sides, entrees, salads, and dessert menu although nothing off the new Voyage Low country selections. All were very good. One thing I love about Lurcat is that the meal is well paced and we never felt hurried. This was a family meal with four of us and too about 2 hrs from the time we sat down until we were done.

Cafe Lurcat has been, and remains, a special occasion restaurant which, for my wife and I and our friends means all birthdays and anniversaries, which comes to around 6 times a year. It can always be depended upon to have convienient valet service, to employ first class servers, have innovative offerings from a fantastic kitchen. This restaurant offers first class dining. Most diners are dressed up, dress casual is the norm. It is a "white tablecloth" restaurant....however, if you want the same kitchen to make your food, but, you want a more casual dining experience...then, when you walk into the restaurant you go to your left to the bar area which still is very nice upscale, with full table service but less formal with a large bar, and great people watching.

Lurcat needs to do a better job of segregating large groups from couples or foursomes wanting a nice dinner. My wife and I couldn't even hear each other as we were seated in an area that was all groups and very loud. Too bad as this has always been a fave

Our server did not come by our table nearly often enough. Our orders were switched around when they came, so we had to swap plates. There was a mouse on the loose (more funny than anything as the staff tried to catch it). The cocktails were inconsistent in preparation - possibly partially due to how very loud it was in the restaurant - the server may have not heard very well what we were asking for. On the other hand, the ambiance was great, the menu is refreshingly different, and the food was phenomenal.

Overall, we had a good experience at Cafe Lurcat! The quality of food was good (some better than others), the drinks were unique and delicious, and our waiter was very kind! The main downside was that we were placed directly near the kitchen and it got fairly loud. Overall, I would say we had a good experience. If you order a Grapefruit Drop with the Pot Roast, you'll be a happy camper!

We decided to go to this restaurant for restaurant week. This was our first experience here. We were seated right away to a very comfortable table. The waiter was very outgoing and attentive without being pushy. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful evening out and will definitely be back.

I wish I could remember our waiter's name - he was fabulous. Spot on with recommendations, great ideas for sharing at the table, and for appetizers, very good with details about the food, and overall, he was just always there. We were with clients, and they all raved, and everyone had a great time.

Uniqueness is what we strive to spend our money on. One gets a fair amount of uniqueness here. We had an opportunity to try the desserts. We especially loved the meringue apple cream dessert that my daughter ordered.

Our wait staff was fabulous! Asher really knows his food and how to be a good host. He steered me and my colleague in the right direction on several dishes and drinks. The new food menu is laid out very nicely, he even explained that. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting a comfortable setting, fantastic food at the higher end, but it was worth the value all around.

we visited for restaurant week, and I cannot wait to go back. The mood and atmosphere was so cozy and romantic, the food was unbelievable, and everything about the evening was perfect. We did have to wait extra for our table, because the hostess did not see we had checked in 20 minute prior. but other than that, everything was romantic, and spectacular.

A neighborhood gem of Loring Park. I love that they have a seasonal menu alongside their traditional menu - giving you the opportunity to return without having the same thing twice! The date night special (Sunday nights) is a great value - perfectly-sized portions.

I was surprised that Bar Lurcat had better availability than other restaurants in town when I searched for a place. The location is always great and the atmosphere is nice with windows looking out over the park. The food was excellent but took quite some time to arrive. They were kind enough to offer "corkage" service for the fine wine we brought. Salad orders were botched which led to a certain amount of delay and confusion. Great pot roast on their new menu. Sea bass continues to be a favorite.

We were super pleased with our experience at Cafe Lurcat. The Miso Glazed Sea Bass NEVER disappoints and the service and rest of our meal was wonderful. We've dined here about a half dozen times over the last few years, and it is always great. The restaurant is divided into three areas - I would recommend that you request a spot in the quieter middle dining area unless you want the more boisterous bar area or kitchen area. Dining outside by Loring Park is also great. It gets pretty loud in the far area near the kitchen - we've been sat alongside the kitchen area there before, and that gets kind of annoying.
Our service was great! We had Saturday night tickets to the Guthrie at 730pm, so we had a 530pm reservation and let our server know when we were seated - we ended up having plenty of time to eat. He was knowledgeable of the menu, and helped us pick an appropriate wine for our meal.
With wine, salads, entrees and sides, it approaches $100/per - so if that works for you, it's worth it.

Our 10th anniversary dinner at Cafe Lurcat was delightful in every way! I loved the ambiance with linen tablecloths, romantic unobtrusive lighting, bustling and lively yet with tables spaced such that we had plenty of space and privacy for our conversation. Our waiter was "cool" in a good way, completely knowledgeable and competent, gracious in responding to our questions, with a friendly twinkle in his eye that made every interaction, however brief, a little 'lift' in our evening. Definitely understated and classy. I was comfortable wearing a new dress and heels without feeling overdressed; others were dressed 'snappy' for a night out as well, but it did not feel stuffy or formal in any way. And oh my gosh, the food! Fantastic. It was all delicious but the standout, oddly, was the side dish of cubed butternut squash tossed with candied nuts and an incredible butterscotch mascarpone sauce - wow, what a combination! I have already bought the ingredients to try to copy it at home before I forget the exquisite flavor of that sauce. Thank you, Cafe Lurcat, for a fantastic anniversary dinner. Highly recommended.

The kitchen needs to improve its exhaust system. Cooking "fumes" filled out area and when we left we smelled like a kitchen. Food and service wer both excellent, however I do not like leaving restaurants and smelling like I was working in the kitchen.

My favorite MSP restaurant. I requested a window table for my mother-in-law's 101st b'day. She uses a walker and the staff could not have been lovelier or more professional. The food was excellent and the view of the park, as always, is quintessential Minneapolis.

Food was fantastic. Server was knowledgeable about menu and flavors of both food and wine as well. Only slight disappointment was our table for 2 was very tiny (cocktail table size) and shoved up against a pillar which made us feel a little crammed. Miso Sea Bass was out of this world and the Korean Barbequed Salmon did not disappoint. Overall great dining and would come back again!

This was was a hit! My colleagues and I travel quite a lot and eat out A LOT, so we've become quite picky. This place, by far, was our favorite of many good restaurants in Minneapolis. The service was amazing, food was mouth watering, and the prices were very good. We look forward to going back!

As usual the food was up to Cafe Lurcat' s standards. The only exception was the dessert, which was OK , but not up to the qulity of the rest of the meal. We were in the room furthest from the entry and it was rather noisy, but lively. Service was up to their standards it made for a great evening.

Having been here before, we brought our friends to see what we've been raving about. Fries were on point, although my salmon was a little over cooked. Unfortunateately, most people prefer their salmon over cooked, so I don't blame the chef.

We requested to be seated in the bar and our table overlooked Loring Park which was lovely. The place was lively and we experienced attentive service from the moment we checked in to be seated, and throughout the dining experience. Our server was knowledgeable of the food and wine choices and we weren't disappointed with any of her recommendations. Bar Lurcat was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
We will definitely be back!

Date night with my husband. Server recommended oysters to start. Served beautifully and tasted even better. Apple cheese chive salad was unexpectedly full of flavor and was fun to eat. Chilean sea bass with miso was heaven on a plate and for my palate. My husband enjoyed the ribeye. This was also aesthetically appealing. Dishes we tried which we would pass on in the future were the zucchini with dill and key lime dessert. These two just didn't sing like the other items. We had a window table overlooking the park. It did get a bit loud in there as the night went on but it would not steer us away in the future. The service was impeccable. Brett did an amazing job describing the menu and made excellent wine suggestions. I forgot my coat and another server rescued it got it to me before we departed. Valet services were great, too. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome. We will come back again!
