Not a great place for date night but more suited for groups....bachelorette parties, birthday parties, etc. The vibe is loud and rambunctious. There are two bar areas and a great outdoor area. This is a cool trendy fun place. The food is comfort food and excellent. I just wish the restaurant was a littler quieter.

We eat at Cabana every time we come to Nashville. Everything we order has been creative and delicious. The menu has a good variety from fried chicken to meatloaf to seafood. The restaurant is located at the edge of the Vanderbilt campus-so always a good mix of young and not so young. Good bar scene, able to watch sports on TV, and order a meal!

I was in town for my sister's bachelorette party and was tasked with the itinerary. A friend highly recommended Cabanas and now I can see why! The ambiance is amazing, the cabana we say in was very intimate yet roomy, and it was away from the touristy area of Nashville. We went on a Sunday so there wasn't a minimum charge for having a cabana, however, I believe it's $300 if you go on a Friday or Saturday.
We will definitely be back and is a must visit while in Nashville!!

We went for the specials associated with the Nashville Restaurant week. I expected small portions and restrictions. They wouldn't allow any substitutions but other than that, the food was excellent, the portion size was almost too much. We had vichyssoise and PEI mussels for appetizers - both superior. Parmesan crusted flounder and polenta. Excellent. Chocolate flowerless cake - Oustanding. Reasonably priced good wines.

This restaurant was SO LOUD. Our server was great and the food was pretty good (the steak was a little too fatty for our tastes; everything else was great), but there were probably 6 or 7 bachelorette party groups who were extremely loud, chanting things, making a ton of extra noise (one group had a duck whistle!), etc. The restaurant itself would’ve been great without these patrons. They had classic music playing (Frank Sinatra type stuff) and it didn’t seem like a party vibe once the loud parties left. I’m sure they don’t want to discourage the large groups from coming and paying a large bill, but it would’ve been nice if they were able to keep the noise level down.

This was my second time at Cabana. The first was wonderful. Service was fine and we had a quiet cabana in the front. This last trip the service was terrible. It took over an hour for our food and it was cold. The restaurant did comp our first round of drinks, but given everything it wasn't enough.

Food and drink were delicious, however, it took forever to make it out from the kitchen! Will definitely be returning to try more gluttonous southern dishes with a twist either way. Also, there were SO MANY bachelorette parties. Cabana is definitely a go-to spot for pre-gaming.

Affordable wine list and creative cocktail list. Great variety of domestic, foreign, and (most important these days) micro-brew beers and ales. I had a moonshine based cocktail - "Blackberry Lemonade" - summery drink, with nice sour edge.
The menu is a fusion of trendy, yet Southern U.S. influenced, choices.
Appetizers were delicious. I had the Brie lobster "Mac and Cheese" served in a cocktail glass - great flavor with a couple of generous-sized pieces of lobster (usually served with crispy pancetta, but I ordered it without). My husband had a plate of wonderful cabana fries (who would think a plate of fries could be so good - not greasy whatsoever).
My husband had the pasta with chicken, sausage and tomatoes. He almost at it all, even after having the Cabana fries appetizer. Said it was delicious.
I had the TN sweet potato ravioli (once again, without the pancetta). Nice flavor! Sauce was a light, garlic-based sauce with mustard greens. Slightly sweet ravioli with a light sauce, plus the tang and texture of mustard greens - so good.
We dined at 4 P.M. (time Cabana opens daily) on a Saturday. Knew it would be a bustling, energetic place later, but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere.

I called regarding a Bachelorette Basket and the owner/manager answered, "It's Craig" and I had to ask if I had called Cabana to make sure. He told me I called the event line but because he was the owner he could probably help me. He asked which basket I would like and I asked if he could tell me more about them, he proceeded to tell me to look on my computer... which wasn't an option because I had used my cell phone. I couldn't believe how rude he had been, I was trying to spend more money there before evening arriving!
When we finally arrived at the restaurant and was curious if I would see this unfriendly man for myself and low and behold... We did! I knew it was him because he was yelling at guests to come in the door quicker because they were letting out his cold air and then proceeded to rush them all inside to pull the door closed behind them.
The Bachelorette Basket wasn't what I thought it would be and thankfully they took care of it for us. Aside from the owner, it wasn't too bad! However, he is a piece of work and I can't imagine working for a creature like him!!

We came to Cabanas for a bachelorette party at 6:15 on a Saturday. We are more low-key, so we wanted to avoid the later "party" atmosphere at dinner which we hoped to find later in the night. We were immediately greeted by our waiter who had an awesome upbeat energy with good recommendations for food and drinks. After we ordered and received drinks, a man in a suit approached our table and asked how we were as he rolled up his sleeves. I immediately exclaimed, "ARE YOU A MAGICIAN?!" I was so excited. The magician was outstanding. We were 1 foot away from him and I could not see how he did his tricks (usually I can at least reason how the trick was done-- I couldn't). Seriously, one of the best magicians I've ever seen and such a nice surprise! The food was great (nothing to exclaim about, I had a burger), but I think my friends enjoyed their meals very much. The dirty martini I had was a little too dirty, but the cosmo was great. Overall 4.5 stars--perfect for bachelorette dinner! I would recommend over and over again!

This is one of my favorite places. The drinks are reasonable and they have a great ladies night. The food is consistently good and they change it up some, but not too much. We always get great service and consider Cabanna to be "our restaurant".

The server was not friendly at all and made the comment as me and my family were ordering are food to hurry up that he has other tables he is waiting on. I got the Salomon and changed the sides that i wanted and he came out wrong. Then i took them awhile to get my food after the fact. Will ever go back again , use to be a good atmospheric to go to but the food hasnt good neither.

Loved this place! The service (Veronica!) Was OUTSTANDING. THE food was inventive, delicious, and beautiful without being pretentious. The portions were generous. As for the ambience, PERFECT. A balance of urban, romantic, vibrant AND private if you want to be seated in a cabana. All in all, maybe our favorite place in all of Nashville.

My family knows this place for it's Smoked Sweet Tea Chicken! We went for that, and was delicious as always. The service was great, even with a few hiccups, the evening manager was sure to handle it correctly to make things right.

Extremely disappointed with my recent visit. Even though my entire party of 5 arrived right on time for our 8:45pm reservation, we still had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be seated. After placing drink and appetizer orders, we waited another 45 minutes for lackluster results. The sweet potato chips were cold, the calamari was over cooked & completely inedible. Both orders of lump crab cakes tasted like cheap fish that had been cooked in crab boil seasoning instead of actual crabmeat. Very disappointing experience.

Had a reservation for 8:15, called to ask if we could arrive closer to 8:25, told it wasn't a problem. Our table wasn't ready until almost 9pm. Also was told there were not any cabana's left, but there were SEVERAL that were completely empty the whole time, which was disappointing as we were there for a bachelorette party. Food was good though.

We recently had dinner on a Monday night at Cabana. It was our first time to the restaurant. We really didn't know anything about it but liked the location and the reviews were good. As someone who has traveled 1 million + miles for business and personal, I usually know how to spot a good restaurant, so we did have some level of expectation. But all I can say is...WOW! One of the most enjoyable food and service experiences we've had in a long time. The shrimp & grits and the Mahi Mahi were excellent! Peach cobbler...freshly made! Yum! Shelby, our waitress, was perfect and very helpful. We will be going back for sure, and I fully recommend Cabana to anyone and everyone!
First Visit - Will be Back
This was our first visit to Cabanas and we found it just thru Open Table and looking for a new place to eat before attending the CMA fest. When we arrived, our table was ready for us (a party of 8 adults). Our waiter, Bryant, was very attentive as well as informative on the whole menu. We ordered appetizers for the table (crab bites, allegator bites, and sweet potato chips). All three were delicious with variety of dipping sauces. Devoured by all 8 quickly. Drink specials were good and reasonable. The dinner choices provided a good variety for all at the table that everyone had a hard time deciding but all enjoyed their meal. Shared some desserts as well and no complaints other than we were all extremely full. I can't wait to return again and bring some more friends to enjoy. Will definitely be on our go to list in the future when dining in Nashville. Parking was easy with lot across from restaurant and FREE!!
With all of the great ratings on Cabana, we were very excited to try this restaurant. We had early reservations (5p). We were seated in the back, "garage" area, which was fantastic! It was light, airy, nice scenery. Service was good. Nice wine list. Menu looked appealing, prices decent. Our food was not good. The waitress suggested the tea-flavored smoked chicken. It was the worst piece of chicken ever, tasting like it was leftover from 2 days ago, heated in the microwave with a little BBQ sauce thrown on the top. The side dishes, scalloped potatoes and green beans were good. Hubs had their signature chicken pot pie--nice sauce but chicken was MIA...When asked about our meal, I advised the waitress that the chicken was dried out .. she said she would let the kitchen know...no action. Dessert was quite nice; 2 small strawberry/rhubarb tarts that we shared. The result: in good conscience I would advise people of our food experience. Perhaps another trip would yield better quality. That being said, this town has waaaaay too many great restaurants for us to consider returning.
