Brix Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Great food and vibrant scene. Little to kid friendly for me. Crying babies and elementary children ...and believe me I love and have 5 kids. Looking for a kid break for two hours!;) Food was great and happy hour goes until 6:30 which is awesome. Even on a Saturday!
We were there for Thanksgiving. The food was delicious and an excellent value. The family style sides were on the small side. As busy as it was our waitress was wonderful. The only drawback was the loud bar/club music. We weren’t expecting classical music but, The Killers aren’t exactly dinner music, and sadly we ended up under the speaker.
Disappointed in the shift to double the number of people they serve on thanksgiving. It was very crowded, seating accommodations made at time of reservation were not recognized, food was good, but inconsistent. Our appetizer was missing items and I had to send my turnkey back because they gave me all of the joints and tendons instead of meat. My dad and I have spent 3 is the last 4 years here, and it is something we look forward to. After this year, it’s has become the same as all other crowded restaurants for a Thanksgiving, which is frustrating.
Three of our family members made a lunch reservation for Thanksgiving here. We all had the turkey and all the sides that come with it. The food was spectacular. Two of us struggled cutting the fat off the dark meat but that's truly the only complaint we have. We had a couple of cocktails, huckleberry daisy and pear-a-dice which were delightful. The service is above and beyond. They were constantly refilling water, and on top of drink refills. The timing of the 4 course meal was excellent. All the help were kind, pleasant and friendly. Our waiter was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. Looking forward to returning in the future.
This was my third time to Brix but my first time for brunch. Our waitress was super friendly and made sure to communicate my husband's food allergies to the kitchen. We loved the complimentary house-made donuts as an "appetizer." The food was so fast to come out - It took about 15 minutes from ordering. Everything was delicious. Next time we will have to get the bottomless mimosas ($9 versus the $6 for just one!). The coffee is absolutely delicious; we forgot to ask who they use. Our only complaint was that we, of course, had a reservation and showed up early, and our table wasn't ready, which is totally fine, but there was also a sign at the front instructing people to seat themselves, so we were a little confused. Regardless, it's rare to find a place that takes reservations for brunch so we will definitely be back.
Venue was beautiful and comfortable. The host and waitress provided wonderful service and the food was absolutely delicious. My only gripe was the bartender.
There was a party of six of us and two of us arrived an hour early to have cocktails. The bartender was very unfriendly and had a general demeanor that he did not want to be there and it was a parent in the service that we received. Both of us commented that we could tell he did not want to come to work that day. I’m sure people have bad days we’re all human, but that was my experience and the only downside to my evening.
Otherwise the food was amazing and I will come back because the other servers were amazing and so was the food.
Thank you so much for accommodating our large birthday brunch group. The food was amazing, the “Mimosa for every bite” was great. The hash browns were delicious. Our server was very nice and friendly which seems harder and harder to find in Portland these days. Thank you we have found our new favorite breakfast stop, I️ can’t wait to try the other items on the menu.
I've dined at Brix many times and have always been impressed. I was a little let down this time when the hash browns were lukewarm and the service wasn't that great. We also made a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We came for my birthday and left feeling a little disappointed.
My first time at Brix. I went with my son and his family who had been several times. I really liked it. Shawn was our waiter and he was fantastic. He was efficient, respectful and nice.
The only reason I don't give everything a five is When I made the reservation i asked for a short table instead of tall but we got a tall. However, it was still fun. Food was good. Not great but very good
I will be back. I have already told three friends about the place Thumbs up!!
Food was pretty good (yummy omelette and complimentary donuts, ok French toast, ok pancakes). Enjoy their HH food even more! Hostess not very accommodating for our reservation in half full restaurant. More attitude than I'd prefer. Manager and waitress were friendly. In the reservation notes I specifically asked for table for two adults plus room for stroller beside it. They must not have read my notes as table for two was in cramped booth space and they had several 4 tops open but still put us in 4 person "booth" in the middle which did not accommodate stroller. We made due, but doesn't seem like taking time to write notes when making reservation means much.
One my favorite happy hour locations though, so will keep it in that list for sure. I'll call Brix personally with specific table location request if I bring toddler in again as that must be what needs to occur to get a free standing table. Apparently others who make reservations ask for specific tables as didn't understand why one 4 top more important than others. I'd still recommend Brix, especially the bar front of house area!
Wonderful brunch with spectacular gluten free options (my mom and I are celiac). Their eggs benny was outstanding! I loved that they walked around with huge pitchers filled with mimosas, and they were rather hefty. Make sure you have a DD if you get the bottomless mimosas because they are rather strong;)
