Bohanan's Prime Steaks and Seafood Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I decided to have our Anniversary dinner here and all I can say is that everything was amazing.
They had a nice setup ready for us with a greeting card wishing us a "Happy Anniversary" signed personally by Bohanan himself.
Most importantly, the service and the food were great! We shared the 24 oz. Bone-in Rib Eye steak with a few sides and appetizers.
We live in Austin but we will be back for sure!
We went for my parents anniversary. We had a lovely champagne toast to celebrate. We all enjoyed the steaks and many of the sides. Oyster app was good and the Caprese salad was fantastic. There was some confusion on which sides we ordered but we didn't comment and kept all of them. The only side that I didn't care for was the lobster mac and cheese- I wouldn't recommend this at all. It was bland and disappointing with barely any lobster (at first i thought it was pimentos or something else) and was $25. This was one of the items we didn't order (hence my confusion on it being lobster) but kept anyway. I wouldn't have minded paying that if it was good but between all of us we didn't even eat 1/3 of the small dish of it. I enjoyed the portobello mushrooms with the rich Demi glaze, the au gratin potatoes were good (plain but good), asparagus were good, and goat cheese mashed potatoes were also good. The atmosphere was great, restaurant set up was great, service was great. This was my parents second time at the restaurant and my first but I think we would try again. I have tried several of the places on the list of best steak places in the US and I am surprised this came in at number 2- it was great but I am just surprised it was above some of the others. I would recommend giving it a try!
I took my wife here for our 3 year anniversary. The first thing that Bohanan's gives you is a feeling of comfort and class. walking through the bar area you are immediately greeted and taken care of. The oyster appetizers were amazing and the entrees were breathtakingly good. We had reservations at 7PM and did not leave until 1030 PM. After dinner we took a seat downstairs and listened to the live jazz playing for most of their session. Worth the time and money. They do not disappoint.
We love this restaurant for every reason and have NEVER been dissatisfied! The location, ambiance, the service and food are like no other; exceptional! Anytime we are downtown, this is our go to place. Chef Mark Bohanan is a genius and his food/restaurant is proof! We take all our friends and go whenever we can. A great place for fun, romantic evening and delectable food. Also love his new restaurant in Boerne, Peggy's on the Green!
Fantastic early 20th century charm. The service is great with several people catering to your every need. The food selection is very good and the quality of the food is among the best of any place I have eaten. If you are looking for fine dining this is the place to go. Valet parking is only $10 so take advantage of it.
My friends and I had an awesome experience. Everything from the appetizers, the sides, the steaks were phenomenal. Our server was excellent as well and really new every thing about the menu he was selling. Came in there expecting to pay a certain amount and left paying and tipping more because the service was excellent and the food was worth the price.
Everyone is all about the new restaurants but if you want good food, great drinks and outstanding service, you have to come here. I came here for a special occasion and made my requests through Open Table which the restaurant had no problem honoring on a busy Friday. You will want none as every waiter and floor staff is providing everything you could ask for.
Alot of restaurants in the city may have that new flash and pizazz but I find the service not as professional and not polished. Come here if you want to show someone you care.
We were at a teaching convention for the week and wanted to splurge for a friends birthday. A birthday card was placed at the table prior to our seating. That was a very nice touch, but I was disappointed there was not a dessert display for our birthday guest. The wait staff was very accommodating and the food was very good.
