Black Angus Steakhouse - Fresno Ratings and Reviews
Recently experienced my first time dining at Black Angus and I cannot WAIT to go back! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the ribeye and it was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the Prime Rib and was very impressed with the flavor and cut. (That says a lot!)
The Steakhouse Chili Nachos appetizer is a MUST. They are now in my top three best nachos of all time.
The decor is cowboy themed and rustic with dim lighting but not so dark you can't see the menu. Great ambiance.
Will definitely be returning to give Happy Hour a try!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Food is always very good, reasonably priced, and cooked to perfection. Customer service is always outstanding. See no reason to go to places like Ruth Chris or Flemmings when you have quality restaurants like Black Angus.
My wife and I really enjoyed our evening together & our waitress (Taylor) was very sweet and attentive to our needs. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed the atmosphere. I would recommend this establishment to everyone who would like to have a wonderful experience.
We were seated late because of the pre-Valentine rush, but the bar staff took care of us while we waited. Attentive and friendly staff. After we were seated it took a long time to get my glass of wine so the waiter comped it. Excellent Ribeye Steak! Romantic atmosphere. Overall good experience and would highly recommend.
We went to celebrate my birthday. Was very glad we made a reservation, as it was packed, even at 5:30pm. We were seated promptly in a nice, secluded booth. Our server was there quickly to take our drink order. Our dinner was wonderful. And, for a treat, they provided us with a birthday cookie w/ice cream and a lit candle. Very nice evening.
It was within an hour of closing time when we arrived (there were only 2 other tables in sight) and our specialty drinks had little or NO alcohol, then we ordered onion rings as a side but it was too late to cook them or any deep fried item. Our soup was luke warm, but tasted wonderful!!! They made us feel like we were intruding so we had our desssert boxed up. The waiter acted like he was high on crystal method with his runny nose, speed walking, fast mumbling talking and forgetfulness. We are willing to shake off the experiencer and give them another chance to be great though.
Food was very good as it usually is, with special preparation requests adhered to completely. However, the service this time was not nearly as good as it has been in the past. For example, I ordered coffee, plus a spoon to stir it with. In spite of repeated requests, I never received a spoon. Further, refills were rare & not very timely. That issue notwithstanding, our evening was very enjoyable.
The food was great and the steak was cooked to perfection, service was good, but our utensils were dirty. Dried food was on them, the bread plates were dirty and greasy. Our server brought clean items and our table made the comment that dishwashers breakdown or temperatures aren't checked routinely. We didn't want to leave. We knew our dining experience would be worth it. Hope the problems are fixed.
I have been to most of the steakhouses in Fresno,CA and although they are very good, I find that Black Angus is my favorite. I have never had a bad experience there or left thinking the food was not good. For me, I find that their steaks seem to have a great flavor. Personally, I wish it was a bit cheaper (they do offer gift cards and coupons), I continually return. Since our tastes may be
different, I would highly recommend you try it for yourself(-ves). I would recommend making a reservation as some nights, it is really busy, and that not for a special event. Although I've not had anything bad, if this is your first time, I would recommend the Campfire deal or the steak and prawns or steak and lobster (seasonal), I would try the Hawaiian Avalanche while you are waiting and the combination appetizer plate. Don't forget to ask for their molasses bread and butter (fresh from the oven). The Campfire coupon also includes dessert so you might try the flourless torte or creme brulee or cheesecake... Either way, I think you will have a most lovely evening. (Btw, the managers are really easy to work with and if you happen to be there the night Seth is working, please tell him Tim said hello~!
It was New Year's Eve and it was extremely busy. We were their 6:45p and reservations were for 7 p. We were seated at 7 p in the bar area. Our waitress was Natalie and she was wonderful. Friendly and great service and the food was amazing. Always love eating there especially on New Year's Eve.
Service was abominable. The server had only three tables so far as we could tell and everything took far longer than it should have. There were only two of us and the dinner took over two hours - mind you, this isn't a restaurant where you expect to spend a leisurely two hour meal - this is a steakhouse. And on that note, the filet mignon was order medium-well, and arrived rare and came back medium rare. Had to be sent back twice. Black Angus used to be an excellent choice for a good steak dinner, but "how the mighty have fallen." Far better choices in the Fresno-Clovis area.
We got our seating fairly close to our reservation time. Drink order was taken. After we ordered, appetizers came in a reasonable time, but the window of time to wait for our entrees was pretty lengthy. The restaurant wasn't packed at that time. Food orders came out nicely, and all guests were pleased with food, once it was delivered. Server, a veteran employee, was very accommodating, and served us well. She did a great job throughout our dining experience.
