Black Angus Steakhouse - Brentwood Ratings and Reviews
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. The food overall tasted good, but there were 2 issues. The salad had been changed (used to be ice burg, cabbage, carrots, onions, tomatoes, and croutons but it was switched to spring mix with tomatoes & croutons), and was served warm instead of chilled like I had experienced before. Also, everyone's dinner was cold. I requested to have my meal re-heated, and the waiter even offered to have a new plate made - but there's always the worry of having repercussions for asking such a request. And even then when it came back it was still pretty cold. I just said screw it, cause at least the gravy was slightly warmer.
I don't know if the server was over loaded, but he seemed to be struggling with either the kitchen taking too long or some other issue because service for refills on drinks, bread to the table, and serving for food took a long time. He even apologized for the unusual wait. But still, we had to ask for bread and additional items a few times. At one point we had 3 dishes of butter, but we only had been served 1 loaf for 3 people.
I definitely had the feeling that it just wasn't his night, and he just wanted to be home for the holiday. We still really appreciated him working, but I ended up feeling bad that we were part of the reason why he was having a difficult night.
Great experience, we went here on Thanksgiving because we just got back from vacation and were too tired to cook at home. They did have a fixed price Thanksgiving dinner on the menu that day, but we skipped it in favor of steaks (since we were at a steakhouse) of different kinds. All the steaks were done to perfection (i.e, as requested), and the sides (2 per dish included) were also very tasty. Quantity of sides are not very large, but it is filling. We also had appetizers and one of us had a cocktail. Fried appetizers seem to be a bit on the oily side, but delicious - check out the fried cauliflower, it's really good. We also shared a bread pudding dessert that was delightful. Overall, a great Thanksgiving dinner.
We went on this occasion for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It was a special menu for the holiday. We had the prime rib and lobster tails. The food was great and my fiancee commented to her friends on the east coast what an outstanding meal it was. The service was great like it was the last time we went and we will definitely go again
This is the first time in about 3 years that I've eaten at a Black Angus restaurant. I was treated so badly at the Pleasant Hill location on numerous occasions that I finally said no more. I have some friends that live in Brentwood and they kept telling me to try the Black Angus there. So we went for Thanksgiving. It is like night and day between the two places. Even though it takes about 30 minutes to get to Brentwood. I will make the drive and go back. Actually had a manager come by and ask how was the food. The servers were all pleasant.
This is our second time coming to Black Angus for Thanksgiving dinner.. The food was good and the service was Lisa M. was fantastic.. We had a party of 9 and she was on the move the whole time. The restaurant was totally crowded and she had a lot going on but she was always double checking to see if we needed anything...The manager even stopped by to see how things were.
Service was painfully slow, probably the worse I've had ever. Had to ask for bread, but the reply was "there wasn't any". Eventually, some came (no apology). We didn't have silverware, so there was no way to slice the bread or apply butter--we had to ask. We eventually got it (again, no apology). Forty minutes after ordering, we noticed a man who appeared to be the manager (he was). He was a nice gentleman who was very understanding and though he couldn't make the service better, he did offer free dessert to take home (we declined) but it did help in knowing that SOMEBODY cared.
I had the bleu cheese mushroom filet mignon and my wife had the prime rib. both were DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection! love the bread... as always. the wedge salad was really good. our server jalyn was amazing - friendly, efficient and polite.
The place was packed as usual for a Friday night but we skipped the long wait by using open table. love this app! food was delivered very quickly. will definitely go back!!!
I had a great experience Saturday when me and my husband arrived we got perfect seating nobboise food prepared fresh and hot very great waiter . When returned Tuesday was rushed was seated at the front booth where it was extremely loud . Waiter was inpatient and rushed us for appetizers and to order entree. The dessert that was for Togo was cold and there was no Carmel sauce like I received on Saturday . It was for my husband Birthday he loves this place but he was not happy and neither was I . We spent over $120 for very subpar service .
We had reservations and seated on time at 6:15. Appetizers came at 6:45 and we actualky waited 1 hour and 5 mi utes for entres which came at 7:55. Was told by server extremely busy but numerous tables and booths open. It was my daughters 15th bday and did not leave until almost 8:30. We literalky sat waiting over 65% of the time for entres. Was even charged for a lemonade refill when asked if he could get another one during the wait. For 160 dollars it was a very negative experience and bday dinner
I’ve brought my family to the Brentwood location on numerous occasions, more often than not the experience has been subpar. From lip stick dirty wine glasses, tables not thoroughly cleaned, and littered footing areas to name a few. The reason why we frequent this location is because its close to home. In my opinion the Pleasant Hill location is far more superior in there services. Unfortunately I will look for other dining establishments in my area to take my family and friends.
Great food, excellent steak nachos, we love the “chocolate bread”. I know that’s not what it is but it looks like it ! Just delicious good bread. Never disappointed in the great deal with the appetizers to share two entree’s, 4 sides and then a wonderful dessert. We were so full - we enjoyed the dessert of carrot cake at home. This was our 1st time in the Brentwood location. We usually go to Pleasant Hill (sad - waiting for it to re-open). Brentwood is much more the happening scene! Booth seats seem to be more open & lower. Very conscious of the noise level. We just love Black Angus. Hurry and re-open P. Hill location please!
Usually this is a nice place to have dinner but Friday PM we had one of the worse dining experiences. Our dinner salads and appetizers were brought to the table at the same time. drinks did not arrive until entrees. Asked for bread and was told that it was being baked BUT watched bread being delivered to other tables. Bread final brought to our table after the entrees were served. no forks or knives on the table. when entrees served had to request them, then waitress brought 1 set. pointed out that NONE of us had fork, knife or napkin. was brought a rolled up set with a paper napkin--all the other tables had cloth napkins. THEN the food-worse prime rib ever-very very tough. the mashed potatoes were hard. you could tell they had been around for a while. My husbands steak was also tough and his green beans were raw. My son's burger was not medium rare-it was raw. We actually debated about sending it back. This was about the time our bar order arrived. at this point we just wanted to get out of there.
We had a delicious dinner and as always plenty of food so that we had leftovers for the next night. Taylor was our server and she did an extraordinary job. She smiled a lot, was friendly and helpful and quick. Yet we never felt hurried. The staff was helping each other which made it nice for us and nice for them. It is great to see them working together to serve their customers. We had a delicious and fun night out with our friends.
I made dinner reservations for a Birthday celebration with family. We were greeted right away, and seated within 10 minutes. Waitress was excellent, and food was delicious, and correct temperature when served. Bar serve was offered, and waitress was very attentive to our needs. Free desert for Birthday girl was nice touch, and utensil were served for all in party.
