Very hip. I felt like I was in LA.
I came here on Easter with my mom for brunch.
We drove from NJ, and it was well worth the drive!
The area of Brooklyn is hip; the ambience inside the restaurant is beautiful and very artsy.
The food was spectacular. My mom had the Persian omelette (which has dates, among other typical omelette ingredients; it added a slight bit of sweetness. You can also order it without the dates for a regular omelette.)
I order the hangar steak salad, medium rare, which was seared to perfection.
We didn't have cocktails, thought they do have an interesting cocktail menu and a full bar. Instead, we both had coffee, which was bold and good.
Had a chance to meet the owners, who are Persian and extremely sweet people. They succeeded in creating the perfect Brooklyn Brunch spot — with a slight Persian twist!
The food was amazing. Totally worth it! The music was just too loud for brunch.
Great food, great drinks, cute fireplace! I had the Persian wings (delish), pulled pork sandwich and the pear/goat/arugula flat bread, we loved everything!
Our waiter Henry was the best. Efficient, attentive, to the point, hospitable. He worked 5 tables and no one felt neglected and guess what he was the bartender too. This man is literally super man. He didn’t miss a beat. And always checked on us to make sure we had enough water napkins condiments. So sufficient. He should be the poster man for “ I CAN DO IT ALL”
This place is good, and cozy.
The food is relatively expensive though, and it took around 40 minutes to get our food ready.
This place is super cute, and has a working fireplace. Too bad that there wasn’t any other heat, we were all freezing while trying to eat our mediocre dinner.
The food was ok, but I’ve had better traditional Persian food from the vendor at the union square holiday market.
We went for brunch before a movie at Alamo and the service was really bad. They may have just been having an off day or have been understaffed I suppose, but it took us forever to order, then FOREVER to get our food. Once the food arrived mine was pretty good, I would give them a second chance but maybe not for brunch when they are so busy.
They have a great $17 brunch deal (cash only) on weekends.
Wonderful evening spent at Bijan's.. looking forward to returning.
Excellent service and tasty food in a charmingly rustic environment.
Such a cute place. The food and cocktails were all great! Exceeded expectations!
Food was amazing in this quaint little gem!
Delicious food. Creative menu. Loved the decor. Good service. Only thing I would change is the two televisions -- particularly the large screen right above our table. No one seemed to be watching sports so I don't know why they were on. Distracting and diminished the otherwise charming decor.
Great spot to go before the theater, the staff was friendly and helpful when picking menu.
Cute place pretty average across the board. It was not pricey and the bar tender was friendly and made a nice cocktail. The food was average nothing to write home about.
They were very accommodating to our large group. Everyone, including the children, really liked the food and was very child-friendly. When the children from my party made a mess, it was not such a big deal because the kind of furniture in the restaurant were benches and very forgiving with messes. The adults really enjoyed the brunch drinks. Yum!!!
Great local atmosphere. Small, intimate and filled with locals. It was a great meal
This was my third trip to Bijan's, and it'll be a while until I return. Ths place is so hit or miss. On this night the place was virtually empty, it was nice and quiet. I got the spicy shrimp flatbread which I previously had (and had arrived to my table cold as hell) and the shrimp were barely seasoned this time - very bland. As I said my prior trip was nice but the cold food was not appreciated especially after the wait for both the food and drinks. Very nice atmosphere though for a datenight.
love this place, and everyone the I take there. just a little slow in the food service.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We live around the corner from Bijan, and eat there several times per month. The owner is usually present and the wait staff is lovely. I could not recommend it more.
I don't like fries typically and I thought the fries were amazing. Music was a little too loud for lunch time.
Waited an hour for our entrees and then couldn't wait any longer...we paid for our apps and drinks and left. The cheese plate of all things was terrible - processed cheese cut into awkward slices and then blanketed with cranberries....
My date and I went on Valentine's Day. The service was fantastic and friendly. Not only that, the food was stunningly delicious. We were very pleased to dine there for the first time and will definitely come back again soon!
Slow service, staff visibly fighting with each other, food and coffee arrived lukewarm, and order was wrong in certain cases.
Really lovely, friendly neighborhood spot with amazing cocktails
Went for a birthday dinner with a group. It was cold outside so the fireplace was nice. It's a somewhat small food/drink menu, but everything was good and reasonably priced. They brought out dessert with a candle and helped sing Happy Birthday. I would definitely go back.
Love this place. The one is laid back and both the food and service was great. Definitely returning soon.
Had been wanting to try this for a while; it always looks so cute when I pass by. But the problems started right when we walked in the door - the host told me that they were full and that they couldn't keep our reservation; there wasn't even an apology. We ended up getting seats at the bar which seemed like an okay option, except the service was so poor we spent about 2 hours total waiting on food and drinks (we only ordered pancakes and eggs Benedict, nothing special). Food was okay when it came out, not enough syrup for the pancakes (they even ran out of the buckwheat pancakes on the menu so they gave us regular pancakes) and were missing french fries, which they eventually gave us after we reminded them.
We had to ask for coffee several times, as well as milk and sugar and water. We weren't even asked if we wanted additional cocktails until we closed out the check. At no point was it mentioned that the place was cash only; luckily we had enough to cover it, but the table behind us was furious.
Only good news was that they gave us each a free brunch cocktail to try to make up for the service issues. Unfortunately nothing could have made the experience better at that point.
The staff is always very friendly, the food is inspiring, diverse and delicious. It's always a go to spot for my partner and me.
We showed up at 12:15pm for our 12:30pm brunch reservations and the restaurant was closed. It was 8 of us so we had to scramble last minute to find somewhere else to eat. No call or email from the restaurant. A couple of us walked by a few hours later and they were opened. Needless to say that we will not be making reservations here again.
Really great food.
Had brunch at this restaurant to kick off a bachelorette party because of the great food reviews and fixe prix menu that included a specialty cocktail. As soon as we walked in, everyone was remarking about the cool ambiance: the Moroccan lamps, hanging plants, and beautiful paintings. At 1pm on a Saturday, the restaurant wasn't very crowded; it had another big group and another pair of diners. The wait staff was very friendly. All 7 guests loved their food (lamb burger and persian omelet were big hits) and drinks, some ordering more than one.
I really like the feel of the place, and in the winter the fireplace is great. But we were there on a night that was fairly empty and while the server was very friendly it felt very hard to get her attention, get more water, order another drink, get the check...The food is good and it is a nice menu of options. We all felt the music was too loud for a pleasant dinner conversation, so I think it might be better for larger groups or for drinks.
Review for dinner. The food was fine, but not worth the cost. The mezze portions were very small and the flavors were more confusing than innovative. My friend said the chicken wings tasted like Chinese food.
They have a nice brunch selection. It took quite a long time for the food to come out, but the food was very good, especially the Bijan burger. The atmosphere was very laid back and chillin'. I would definitely go back.
Chicken dish is delicious
We have come for both brunch and dinner! Absolutely love this spot!! It truly is a gem in our neighborhood! $15 all inclusive brunch is hard to beat! ... And they have a fireplace for those cold days! The food is always on point!!! Try the chicken for dinner or the Persian omelette for brunch!
I chose Bijan on a whim and both my husband and I had a great time. The tiramisu was excellent and I would go back just for that. The server worked her booty off with a busy crowd and was pleasant all the same time.
While my friends ordered burgers and fries, I wanted to order more authentic food, and made the biggest mistake. The soup, rice, and beef kabobs had no flavor, even after I added salt. The waitress asked how it was and I said I wasn't thrilled, but there was no effort to make another suggestion. It was kind of pointless to ask what I thought. Very disappointing experience for a Christmas dinner. I do not go to a restaurant like this for the best option to be a burger and fries. The dessert was fine, at least. We did tip the server extremely well, as it was Christmas.
