Long wait, food was unseasoned, the cook performance was poor, the table was too crowded no arm space
I have eaten here several times always making reservations on Open Table with no problem, however this time when I arrived at the restaurant the receptionist at the front counter rudely stated that I didn’t have a reservation even after I offered a confirmation email! Luckily another employee over heard our conversation and spoke with someone in the back and honored my reservation. They repeatedly apologized for her rudeness and after a rocky start my family and I enjoyed the rest of our evening . Oh and the food was excellent as usual.
We had a great time. I felt cramped because the seating and tables were very close together. The food was good. The meat could have been seasoned more. The grill master was entertaining. Over all it being our first time we will go back. I don’t know how much it cost though. The gentlemen sitting at our table paid for our meal. The prices did seem moderate though from looking at the menu.
This Benihana's Location (N. Little Rock) does an excellent job, and I'd contribute that to good management. Our Chef was Adam, and he did a fantastic job with the meals.... steaks cooked perfectly, and the seafood was delicious. Nic Kept our drinks fresh, and made sure our dinner ran smoothly. That too, helped make for a great experience.
My husband's 65th birthday. Able to accommodate our large group. Good food and entertainment and conversation. Service was great.
One of my favorite restaurants, but was not made aware of additional fee for parties of 8 or more. Also requested side dining area but wasn’t informed until I arrived we couldn’t have the area, due to the number in our party being too small. Chef and food were great.
Excellent, we really enjoyed ourselves! Waitstaff was attentive, food was very fresh.
Chef Andrew is excellent!! We eat here often and always request him...got lucky tonight!! The service is also superb!!
We had a great experience. We needed to be in and out in an hour and you all did a fabulous job accommodating us!
Benihana is a great restaurant. The service was great, the cook was great and very entertaining. I love that they have many hibachi tables because some Japanese restaurants only have one and having the food cooked in front of you is part of the experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and my wife and I will be eating here for a long time.
This place is always nice and fun. The manager Shapoor is WONDERFUL. He always greats me and others and is very polite. He makes me feel welcome and makes sure that my meal was to my liking.
Had 730 reservations. Didn’t get to the table until 8 and didn’t get the cook at the table until 850. RIDICULOUS
I took my wife for her birthday. She had been to a Benihana but It was my first time.
“You’re paying for the show.” Is what I had been told which I think is general knowledge.
I had edamame for an appetizer and it was fine, then a salad which was fine, nothing great about either. The onion soup was good as far as onion soups go.
The fried rice was very good and worth the trip to have properly prepared fresh fried rice.
The steak was fine, nothing amazing. I didn’t care much for the dipping sauces.
The waitress was very kind and gave us sherbert for free without anyone asking her. I tipped her well.
The chef seemed to be someone who simply knew how to cook Japanese food. I’m not sure he really was a teppanyaki chef. The only show he put on was rolling two broken egg shells toward my daughter and then later he threw them into the air and caught them in his hat. He did the beating heart “trick” with the pile of fried rice, but anyone could do that.
That was it. Absolutely nothing I couldn’t do myself while frying things on a grill.
I kept looking over his shoulder to see other chefs doing interesting things instead.
It made me miss Akira when I would go there. It was a more authentic Japanese restaurant. This one had a birthday celebration every 5 minutes on average. That’s no exaggeration. We didn’t tell them it was my wife’s birthday because we had already heard it enough times.
Had we walked next door to the Riverfront Steakhouse we would have been happier I think.
Overall I would be happy with the experience if it had cost about 50% less. That would be about the right price range for a minimal amount of decent food and a glorified fry cook’s time.
It was inspiring though. We made Chinese at home the next day and I was just as good a chef as the guy who served us.
I won’t be going back, but I’m glad I tried it.
Everything was perfect, from setting reservation, to service, and food. Wonderful experience.
They forgot to do the birthday chant and kept mistaken who's birthday it was. Didn't care for our table guests, they seemed uncomfortable when we got there, but that was out of our control. Server was awesome and food was delicious! Wish they had more options on the kid menu. Will be back.
Excellent service and great food. Great overall experience .
The food was fabulous, our table mates were lovely. And the chef was very inviting and great with kids. Being it was mothers day it was lovely
I asked for extra rice and the cook forgot and I never got it. The pricing was a little higher then the habatchi in Conway and the cooks didn't put on a show like they do in Conway, Ar. Also when you go to Conway you get a lot more food at a lesser price. This place was good if your in Little Rock
The food was good and the service was good once we were seated. The only disappointment, was I had a reservation and still had to wait 45 minutes for my party to be seated.
i was unable to make it got sick and still is sick
While the food was very good, our cook did not put on a "show" as expected at our table. Another table behind us did. The noise level was too loud due to screaming kids and people talking way too loud for table conversation.
Food was very good, price for 12 was 500$. Way too much for hibachi. Four were kids menues and fried rice should come with it but it doesn’t and that was an extra 100$.
Benihana is always a great meal! Shapoor, the owner, always stops by the grill and says hello. Food was delicious, especially the steak, spicy chicken, scallops, fried rice, shrimp and calamari. Service was great. Always had a full glass and food on my plate. The cook was great and fun. It can get a little pricey but the food is so good and service is so great that I’ll continue to go there. Not to mention it has been visited by some very famous people including Michael Jackson, Trace Adkins, Bob Robbins, Bob Seger and several others!
I visited for a birthday and was disappointed because the server forgot to do a birthday surprise wish, we had to wait a while to get seating and food took a while to prepare. This Benihana wasn’t up to expectations as one I visited before in Long Island, NY
I really enjoyed having my birthday dinner at Benihana! The drinks are great as well!!
Great food and service!!
Andrew is the best chef!! We live him!! His spices and cooking style are great!! Excellent food, great atmosphere!!
We’re seated promptly, but no activity for over 1/2 hour. Would have appreciated a drink while waiting for others to show up at the table.
Food was very good and chef amusing.
My favorite place! And the employees are amazing!
I had the chateaubriand and it was one of the best steaks I have had in years and cooked exactly how I wanted it. The fried rice was great as were the vegetables and shrimp. Service was polite and attentive. Highly recommend.
My family and I always enjoy dinner at Benihana. The staff is friendly and treat us like family.
Was disappointed that there was a lunch menu and to get soup and salad was extra. We did not realize that or we would not have come at noon
Showing up at 6 and no one in the lobby and not having a table for 2 and half hours was frustrating. Im glad you do the online reservation now, but there should be something for those without internet to be able to come and dine without the long wait or reservation.
The food and the chef were outstanding, the reservations we made was honored and we really had a great time. The waitress was not to good. She kept interrupting the cook by going between him and the table while he was trying to cook. She would constantly place her fingers in our salad and soup bowls when serving them, and reaching over our meal to pass a drink to someone at the table. But the atmosphere of Benihana is always great, I suggest the waitress be trained better in order to serve the customer better and not tarnish the good reputation of Benihana's
I really enjoyed myself. The food was good and the chef did a good job
Great food and service. Our waitress was on top of everything. Drinks and napkins dessert, etc. Picture, birthday song
Great food with great chefs and staff
Horrible experience here. We had reservations at 8:30 and didn't get seated until 9:30. Took an hour after being seated before the chef even came out to start cooking. Worst dinner I've had in years. Fried rice was bland. Steak was undercooked. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
The staff and food was amazing. The manager greeted us like he knew me personally, and when he found out it was my anniversary, he gave us complimentary glasses of wine. Excellent experience.
