Benihana - Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
Worst dining experience in Miami. We waited over an hour for our table. Once we were sat at our table, it took the restaurant over 20 mins to take our order. Terrible management. There was police on call at the restaurant to settle fights and disputes. This restaurant is not safe and a beyond terrible a dining experience. Food was overly salted and the chef used an obscene amount of butter. Beware!!!
hey OPEN TABLE....just need to tell you. We called because we drove by and decided we'd like to eat there. When we called we were told they were booked for the evening. Nothing was available. I saw on my Google search a spot that said "make a reservation." I didn't know ANYTHING about OPEN TABLE. I decided to give it a try. It made a reservation for us within the next 25 minutes. We were so excited. Once we arrived, we waited literally five minutes, and were seated. What an awesome experience!!! Great program. Thank you, Open Table.
Server/waiter was excellent. His name was three letters, like D-O-L. I can't remember, but wish I could. I even told the manager he was excellent, and is an asset. Hopefully he is recognized and promoted.
I had better experience at this restaurant before. At the beginning they said we cannot get inside. Then, they realized we had a reservation. The person who guided us to the table was very rough. My daughters complained about that as well. The server and cooker were nice, food was good . I know that the reservation was late, but we didn’t feel as appreciated customers at all.
Unfriendly Hostesses at front desk .. long wait in uncomfortable area .. very dirty bathrooms.. the entire place needs a deep cleaning.. not customer friendly..
The only saving grace was Julia.. our table hostess who was very friendly and attentive and Chef Fusan tried his best ..
Felt like being in a “factory”.. will never go back nor recommend
I went to Benihana on Jan 3rd with a friend while on vacation in the area. We had a reservation for 2 people at 7pm and when arriving on time they told us that our reservation was made for 9 people and that we would have to wait a little to be seated even though I had the email in front of me that correctly stated just 2 people. We (along with many other parties) waited 30 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation and there were many empty tables. They seemed incredibly understaffed and overwhelmed. Our waitress (once she finally got to us) was very nice, but all 4 women at the hostess stand were rude and mocking people that would inquire about the long wait. We had been there for over an hour and still didn't even have drinks. After that the food and drinks were great, but the service definitely ruined it for us. Unsure if I would return or recommend to others (especially people with young kids who can't wait that long).
First we get there and valet says cash only and no ATM available. Had to drive somewhere to find an ATM. We go inside and now they say inside is only cash as well. Had to go back to ATM. We had a reservation and waited 30 min to be seated. After being seated waited 35 min for a server to come to the table. I had asked multiple times who was our server and no one seemed to know who. This is obviously a lack of communication between staff. Good was ok definitely not worth what I paid. I had the Benihana trio. I believe it was 37.99. I've had better shrimp and steak at flanigans for less than half the price. The place looked dirty and very outdated decor. Definitely will not come back here.
I have eaten at many different Hibachi restaurants and was excited to go out with my family for a New Years dinner to Benihana. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and what a let down it was. The restaurant was run down and need of a remodel. The service was very slow and the presentation of the food by our chef was lackluster at best. Overall our experience didn’t live up to what I believe the Benihana name stands for.
The service was very bad, we left the restaurant before we got the food. It was my husband’s birthday and it was a really disipointment. We had to wait for our table for 45 minutes and they ignored us. When we got our table, the Sound was so loud that we couldnt hear was the chef said. We went from the resturant without food and with a bad experience.
Well, I guess it is an authentic American restaurant experience with Japanese kitchen. Had to wait over 40 mins to get a table, even though we had reservation on particular time. Service was really horrible, I mean the restaurant was kind of full and I can deal with that, but employees acted like they didn’t know what they were doing. Everything took sooooo long. However, food was fine and the value is ok too. Not sure, that I will be visiting this place soon.
The food was delicious beyond any of my expectations, fresh and very tasty, plenty of it by the way. Having the chef cooking it right in front of us has turned a simple dinner into an unforgettable experience. It’s been a perfect blend of culinary art, incredible taste, entertainment and great service.
We had a very beautiful water view and the ambiance was pleasant, relaxing and happy. Many of us were captivated by the cooking “show” displayed by the chefs.
Benihana is at this point one of my favorite restaurants and we will definitely go back soon to experience again all of what it has to offer.
I went there with my boyfriends cousins for their birthday. We were celebrating 3 birthdays. I had brought individual ice cream cakes for them to bring out at the end of the meal. I specifically asked the hosts to put it in the freezer. The meal and everything leading up to the birthdays was great. Then the cakes came out and they were MELTING! one of the cakes wasn’t even able to be lifted because it had melted off the cardboard. It was embarrassing and ruined the whole birthday mood. Definitely didn’t go as I planned. But the cakes should have been in the freezer and this wouldn’t have happened. Long story short, don’t bring ice cream cakes or trust the hosts.
This was my boyfriend and I's first time to Benihauna. I have only been to Samari' s. We sat a a table with a couple and a family. We had delicious drinks with cranberry and polite conversation with people at the table. When the chef came he was acting agitated. We didn't care, we were having a good time. He did not do a show, even tho their were kids at the table, he was very messy, and gave everyone 2 scoops of rice except my boyfriend and I. When I asked for another scoop he ignored me. He then cooked my boyfriend's steak well done when he ordered it medium, that's never happened at Samari's. When we told him that's well done we ordered medium he rolled his eyes and walked off the grill not saying anything. He came back and made the steak, no apology, no personality, no nothing. He cooked it correctly and then proceeded to cook the remaining dishes. At the end of the meal, I was unaware that my meal did not come with ice cream. When I asked for it, I said I will pay the server then rolled her eyes at me like I was asking way too much. I still tipped 20%, hopefully it would change their attitude. They are in the hospitality business and are anything but hospitable. Benihauna needs to step it up. I can't say we'll be back, when their is a place 45 minutes away doing it 100% better.
We had dinner with 6 people.
First impression was horrible.
Extremely unfriendly staff followed by the dirtiest floor we‘ve ever seen in a restaurant.
Only our cook made a „Professional“ Impression.
The Food tasted very Good and was not expensive, but due to the mentioned issues we would never eat there again!
this place is not what it use to be- no one was there to check us in and when they showed up they were holding hot soup and could not be bothered- it was expensive for what it was and they did not understand anything... it use to be fun and yum- just not anywhere what it use to be. sad.
Not good for birthday. They did not even sing my son happy birthday. For the price I paid. My waiter breath smelled like something died in his mouth. Then he got mad because I only tipped him 45 dollars cash . He said he needed more tips for the people in the back that was rude I think you should only tip if you want to tip. Plus I know they get automatically tip when I pay for my food in the bill. The cook was cool he did his thing but the waiter was horrible I wanted water he was no were to be found. And he looked mad . Never again the people in the parking lot that park are car was real nice . But that (waiter)made me feel uncomfortable. And the girls in the front are rude . I said bye they just ignore me.
