Benihana - Mall of America Ratings and Reviews
Ive been to several such Hibachi frills and the one at the MOA is nothing to sneeze at.
Cheer on the chef and he prepares you meal before you... put some energy into your visit and it will be paid back with great food and a memorable time.
The manager was great. He informed us of a issue with a larger party and that it was taking longer than normal to send a chef to our table and he apologized. he then followed up a half hr later to say it would be soon and at the end without me having to complain and ruin my daughter's birthday, he automatically gave us a discount and again apologized. Loved that he kept us informed and then compensated without me having to argue for it.
I have been to Bennihana's plenty of times, and unfortunately this visit was a dissappointment. The waiter was not attentive at all, we had to ask for water refills many times, and wait an extremely long time for other items. He lost our birthday coupons that we had given him at the beginning of the meal, and almost forgot to bring out ice cream at the end. Too bad!!
Food was good but service was poor and the cleanliness has gone downhill. The carpeting around our table was so sticky your shoes stuck to it and it took quite a bit of walking afterwards to get it off the bottom of our shoes.
Very disappointed in Benihana management. We arrived with a valid birthday certificate, but management would not honor it due to an error generating a barcode. They confirmed it was a valid certificate, and that the error was on their end but refused to honor it. Manager was cold, rude an even hostile towards us. There are other Benihana restaurants in the Twin cities- we will not be returning to the MOA location.
Been going to Bennys for 6 years best location Golden Valley worst location Mall of America been there 3 times didnt get a picture or anything .Only a couple of cooks give a great show. Our cook was not engaging at all while I was there seen 4 different celebrations then people were rushed out. It's more of a rush you to get in and out then a experience will probably go back to Golden Valley as they have authentic Japanese staff yes it does make a difference.
My husband, daughter & I all have birthdays within a few days of one another, & we decided to celebrate them at Benihana. It was a really fun evening. The waiter & chef were very entertaining & the food was great. The portions were generous, enough for take home boxes.
This location was chosen for convenience and nothing else. The food is what's expected during each visit, so nothing spectacular or disappointing. Our chef was fun and energetic. He engaged the children and children at heart during the entire experience. Drinks were kept topped off which to me is one of the most important things when eating out for a meal. I was not thrilled and did inform the host at the front, we weren't asked like the other three tables around us, if we wanted tea or ice cream. Although not the most important item for me, it does come off poorly on the establishment. It makes a patron wonder why our table was singled out.
We enjoyed the evening as a group. Our grill master was fantastic. He prepared a great meal with entertainment and humor. The only hard part was we had a difficult time understanding our waitress, and she actually got rude about it a couple of times.
I took my family of 6 for a birthday celebration. I was a little concerned about this location given some reviews I have seen, but ended up having a great time. It was very entertaining and our kids loved it. The food was excellent, though a few members of our family are vegetarians and there were not many options for them. Overall, it was a great experience!
Food was excellent. Our chef was great and funny. Seating was nice and we were not cramped crowded. It took a long time though for them to take our orders, we pretty much sat there and waited , wondering when someone will come to take our orders and they were not even busy for a Friday night.
