Welcome to Benihana and a dining experience unlike any other! Our guests are seated at communal tables in groups, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Watch as we slice and dice, preparing a meal that will dazzle your eyes as well taste buds, whether you choose mouth-watering steak, tender chicken or succulent seafood. You can also enjoy sushi prepared by a talented sushi chef and indulge in a specialty cocktail. Just a 10-minute walk from the Georgia World Congress Center, Benihana is located on the ground floor (Level A) in downtown’s Peachtree Center Mall. There’s easy access from the mall and adjacent Hyatt Regency and Marriott hotels, or enter from Peachtree Center Avenue. There are many popular attractions nearby such as America’s Mart, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta Underground and the World of Coca-Cola, all easily accessible to Benihana on foot, by car or Marta Rail. The rice was lumpy and dry nor was it seasoned with an adequate amount of garlic butter . Additional charges were added to the bill to add more butter. There was a serving of either soup or salad when you used to get both. The main course noodles were over seasoned with sauce and hard. The meal experience was "Awful".

This was my first time ever eating at a Benihana's. The food was tasty however, I was expecting larger portions for the hibachi chicken and fried rice than what my guest and I received. Also, our hibachi chef performed like he just learned how to work the grill. I would have liked to had a more experienced chef to prepare our food - especially since it was my birthday.

We have actually been to this location before and had terrible service. Reviews are never great either. But we had a really nice visit on Friday night. They were able to accommodate our multiple reservation time changes, we were seated quickly and the waitress was attentive, and the chef did new 'tricks' that the kids just loved. Benihana always has great food...it's usually the staff that needs improvement, but this visit we were all around pleased. If we are ever in the downtown area again, we would definitely give it another visit.

The food was bland. Everything had an up charge. To substitute white rice for fried rice was $3.95, but you can just buy a side of fried rice in addition to your meal for $3.95. The portions were so small. I eat at Teppanyaki style restaurants in Charlotte all the time and they are no cheap like this restaurant. The rice was brought out on a lunch tray. No shrimp sauce was served. Literally one whole zucchini was split between 7 people. A family with a small child sat at our table with us. They bought champagne and we're celebrating... The mom dropped f bombs left and right in front of her child and all of us. She was very vulgar and talked about "poppin' deez bottles" all night. I guess it didn't bother the cook or our waitress, but it was highly inappropriate and made me uncomfortable. I felt like I was in a night club, not eating dinner where meals are $30 plus. Also, my server filled my drink only once and made take out my straw and hold it while she ran to the fountain with my cup. So here I am, holding a used, wet straw in my hand while I watch her go to refill my drink. In my head, I was thinking, why didn't she just bring me a fresh glass? She also passed out a plate with forks for the table. We each took one and passed the plate. All I could think about was everyone at the table coming into contact with my fork before I did. Gross. Benihana is overrated, expensive, and trashy. Btw, a homeless man stood outside the restaurant and greeted me. Lovely.

Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. We arrived at 7:20, a hostess was unable to be found until 7:45 ish. A party of 6 [with no reservation] cut the whole line and was seated instantly. We did not get seated until 8:15 and were almost asked to move and wait more because we were seated at a table that was already reserved for a party of 12. A different party of 3 was seated next to us, they were asked to leave and continue waiting in order to seat the party of 12. Long story short, we didn't start eating until around 9:30pm. We left at 10:30 pm extremely unhappy. Worst date night ever and beyond frustrating. Staff has no sense of urgency and are not very pleasant. Only good part was that the chef was at least nice and had a sense of humor.

It was an unusually busy weekend (DragonCon) when we were there. We made a reservation a few days earlier to make sure we got in. There was no problem with the reservation except we got seated about 30 minutes past the reservation time. Service was slow. It was about another 30 minutes before the cook came to the table to start our meal. I had steak and shrimp. Both over cooked and over seasoned for my taste.
I understand that it was a super busy weekend and I'm sure the staff was stretched. We have eaten here before and everything was excellent. I just think the unusual circumstances contributed to our non excellent experience. I would go back just not during DragonCon.

Chef spilled food onto my dress (not throwing shrimp for fun, just clumsily dishing out my noodles) and my friend never got an entree due to a server mixup. Worst experience I've ever had at a hibachi place. They comped my friend's wife's meal over his lost entree, but then they tried to blame him for not realizing sooner his protein was missing, like he's a chef or something. We usually come every year on Labor Day weekend . Probably won't be back.

We were in town for Dragoncon and made reservations for what we thought would be lunch at 3pm. When we arrived at 2:55, we were told that it would be a few minutes because they had to "switch over to dinner". (Then why allow 3pm reservations?)
We were not seated until 3:20, then had to wait 20 minutes to put our drink order in. Service was SLOW and POOR. We literally had to get up and get our own drinks from the bar after watching them sit there for 15 minutes. We didn't get to order food until after 4. Food was average for a Hibachi type restaurant but the atmosphere was terrible... boxes stacked everywhere, even at the front door. At least our cook was very nice and did his best. It just wasn't enough to make up for all the other negatives.

Restaurant was ok due to the cook. Definitely overpriced and not worth the drive. The cook was great but the servers weren't to good. Had to keep asking for the same thing over and over... just wasn't a good experience at all for my first time coming and just brought down the happiness of my birthday.

I wouldn't recommend this particular location of anyone!Reason being is that I called 15 minutes prior to my 8pm reservation and I was told hat I had 15 minutes grace period,and recieved directions on how to reach the restaurant because there was no visible sign from the roadway.I followed he exact directions given the me,and arrived at the restaurant at 823pm,and when I gave my name to the host i was told that my reservation had been cancelled.I requested to speak with a manager on duty to explain that I had been given the wrong directions,and that i had called several times on my way to the restaurant and was told that my reservation was still good. I used to be a huge fan of Benihana,but after being treated the way that me and the 8 other people that were with me were treated I would never spend another cent there!

The food was not cooked properly we had a cook named Keon. He did not know what he was doing at all he took food off of one ladies plate and put it back on the grill while our steaks where still on the grill. it also took him over 2 hours to prepare everyone's food. it was the biggest waste of money. I will not return. Not to mention we made a reservation and still ended up waiting over and hour to be seated. the Asian older short lady at the front door was very rude, and she gave our table to another party.

The food was excellent. Our chef, however, was dull and boring. He was not ready to perform (cook) on his own yet. The service, otherwise, was great. I only went to a Benihana because my colleagues wanted to, but after this experience, I would definitely go again.

I come here often because I work in the Marriot and I love Hibachi; however customer service is awful and the wait times for table and food is extremely long. However, by reserving I was seated fast but we had to wait over 30m before the cook came out. I have been to other locations and this was by far the worst location I have visited. The server was average being slightly attentive, but the entree was disappointing. I have never found myself desiring steak sauce at a hibachi restaurant until now.

The food was just bad! The rice was not cooked and crunchy. When we asked for noodles instead we were dismissed by the manager. They brought out more rice and attempted to cook it after we had received all other portions of our meal. The food was not seasoned well.

Poor Service. Initially our orders were taken promptly, then the waiting started (except drinks came pretty quickly). As we watched cooks finish at other tables, we still waited for our cook to arrive. One of the other persons at our table complained. Finally the cook came out, however his cart did not have everything on it. He put the rice onto the grill, but then had to leave because the vegetables and the chicken were not on his cart. He also got the onion prepared for the usual "volcano" presentation at these types of restaurants, but did not have a lighter on his cart, so he just did not do that routine. He gave the usual pre-cooking demonstration of utensils, but by that time all were just wanting him to start cooking after waiting 1.25 hours to get started. The folks next to us ordered lobster, and had to ask him to put back on the grill as it was underdone. To me the fried rice had much less flavor than usual, and I wonder if it was he was too much of a rush. My wife's shrimp was extremely salty. There was no post cooking demonstration like the other tables saw. Our cook obviously wanted to do the minimum to get by, and get done. The folks across from us had to leave before eating their full meal since it took so long and they have another engagement to attend to (they though two hours would be enough time, but it was not). I think this chain in considered top of the line for Japanese steakhouses, but they did not prove it this time.
