The food was good but the restaurant was not well cleaned between clients. Food particles (rice) was on the floor around my chair. I informed the waitress. She acknowledged the problem and promised to have the floor around my chair cleaned, but did not follow through to remedy the problem. There was also a table that was not cleaned after clients left the restaurant. It remained that way . I have never been to a Benihana were tables are not cleaned and reset immediately. It was not good to see that table in that condition the entire time of my dining experience.
Dead bug in window lot of dust the area where cook food was nasty table next to my table was nasty area wasn’t clean they just need to do better
Love Benihana! Food and our server and chef Excellent! The hostesses...not so much. Even though we had an reservation and got there before our seat time. We were made to feel unwelcome and unwanted. One of the hostess kept checking our name like we did not have a reservation.
Made reservation for 2 didn’t seat until 3:45 nor get food until 5pm ..their hosting is bad and unreliable if wanting a quick lunch bite and worse if you’re on a lunch break..servers are slow and rude when you ask questions .managers and chefs are always new and never have answers .this experience was the worst I ever experienced with Benihana. I feel as if they need to re-evaluate their look on hospitality
My husband and I took our daughter here as a late celebration for her sweet 16, we made reservations like we were told. Once there, we were seated, but it took over an hour for a chef to come to our table. I used to love Benihana, but my last two visits have me changing my mind. Need some improvement.

Ended up having to wait for an additional hr! It wasn’t even crowded. After waiting forever the chef didn’t even have the correct ingredients. We told him everything but still the birthday girl (my mother) didn’t get everything she ordered. Then they over charged the entire table. I’ve been many times and never received the prices that were charged. It’s clear on the menu! Never going back! Very unprofessional, rude employees!
The food was great and the chef was awesome. He is the first African American chef that I have seen at Benihana and he was hilarious.
We really enjoyed our visit. Even though they were short staffed we still had full glasses. Great place
The place is very slow: slow with sitting, slowing with food and slow with service. Overall, if time is not of the essence, average place.
Place is dirty. Walked out
My first and last time at this location. The server took 25 minutes to bring water to the table. The grill next to ours malfunctioned and we had to be relocated. Then our chef was reluctant to accommodate dining requests that are typical of hibachi restaurants. By far my worst hibachi experience.
I eat at Benihana alot and this experience was so horrible I can't or wouldn't tell anyone to eat hear for the experience me and my family had. I spent 169.00 and did not get and good service period.i believe this was so horrible I believe shouldn't paid but I did and left.
Everything was great the only problem I had was we made a reservation and we still had to wait an hour to eat. Other than that everything else was fabulous.
Long wait and not enough servers / chef's. For serving and cooking.
I had a reservation for 8pm. My party of 4 was not seated for about 30 min later. The food lacked seasoning. The waitress did not come get our drink order for about 15 mins after we sat down. We were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Was very disappointed and will not be returning. Not good experience for our first time visiting. Being a chef myself, I will not recommend this establishment to anyone
The food was great and the staff was professional. I will visit again.
It was by far the worst Benihana experience ever. We had an 8:30p reservation. We were seated at 9:30p and saw a server for one round of drinks and to place our order. At 10:15p after I had gone to the bar to get us a second round of drinks and spoken to the manager about them being understaffed, my husband and I stepped out to smoke and got locked out. None of the staff would let us back in claiming they were closed although the sign said open until 11p. At 10:25p the chef finally came to the table and thankfully one of our own party came to tell us and let us back in. The manager never visited the table and his response to my critique was “yeah, we’re in the back discussing it.” When the bill came, I crossed out the one round of drinks and my 6 yo daughter’s meal and noted “comped by management due to delay.” I will never go to this location again and I highly recommend you check for new management before you plan to go either. The staff themselves were nice and courteous for the most part, but the manager needs to be fired and someone competent in running a restaurant efficiently should be brought in to fix the issues.
Horrible service, food wasn’t great. They were out of vegetables so we only had chicken and rice. Would not recommend this place to anyone!
It was my birthday and they ruined the day for me. Once seated it took about an hour for someone to come over and when the waitress got there she seemed agitated. I personally had to get up several times and ask for refills and when our cook was coming to the table after two hours of wait the manager came and apologized but we still had to wait even longer. The cook that came was good but by the time he got there we were ready to go. Everything about this situation was bad and on top of all that it took them 4 times to get my bill correct. Terrible experience and I frequent this restaurant often traveling 2 hours just to do so.
We were shorted shrimp
I was highly disappointed at our service and the quality of our food. Although my friends, family and I have celebrated at Benihana's many times before (about 5 times within the past 6months), this is all about to change. I will not say I won't ever go again but I can say it will no longer be my first choice and when I decide to go again it will NEVER be the Buckhead location again. Our server was nice, but the cook, Eric was not the best in preparation of the food. The rice was not cooked properly and it was hard when eating it. I paid for garlic butter so that I could use it for my personal food but I asked will he was cooking my shrimp, my chicken as well as my steak if he could add garlic butter to mine while it was o the flat top. He replied no and said the managers will not allow this anymore. It was horrible. What is the purpose of paying $$ for this upscale food when I can no longer have it how I enjoy it and the rice is uneatable!! Highly disappointed is an under statement. My steak was not well done. When I told the cook he was offended and said someone at another table before us had already complained about him and asked that we do not. He blamed everything on someone else in charge and the vegetables were just left on the flat top to become....uninteresting to everyone at the table. Yes he was good with jokes but its the food we all anticipate to be how we are used to it tasting. The most disappointing and dissatisfaction experience I have ever had.
It was a birthday celebration.
Service was very slow. Had a 6:30 reservation and wasn’t seated for another hour. The manager was very kind and kept us up to date on our wait time. Seemed very understaffed for a Sunday. Our chef Chris was amazing.
Had reservations for 3:30 waited 30 minutes to be seated, after being seat we had to wait 2 hours before a chef came over to cook our food so it was like a total of 3 hours before we ate. The wait was so long that another family actually got up & left!! The waitress was awesome through it all & very apologetic for the wait time.
Had reservations and still waited for an hour the cook sweat was falling in the vegetables and our waiter was basically a no call no show to our table the whole two hours we were there my reservations were at 230 I didn’t start eating until 430 never again worst experience ever !!!
Our reservation was for 1:30. The chef did not arrive at our table for 1 hr to start cooking. We have been very frustrated lately on how long it takes to start getting our meal cooked. When it takes that long, they can skip the entertainment and just cook as far as I am concerned.
i looooove benihana!! i’ll eat it everyday if it was closer to home
I have dined at several different Benihana restaurants throughout the country and this is by far the worst location I’ve ever visited. The experience was terrible and I will never visit this location again. I’m even considering not returning to any restaurant depending on how corporate responds to my feedback. I made a reservation; however, the restaurant was short staffed so we had to wait about 20 minutes. Once we were seated, we wait over 75 mins for a chef and still didn’t receive our salads or soups. Our server was in orientation and could not keep up with the demands of the table. We had to remind her what drinks we ordered over and over and some of us never received what we ordered. We finally asked for the manager to come to our table. He was unprofessional and didn’t care about the poor service we had received. He argued with two of the customers then returned about 20 mins later to inform us that we would all receive a 25% discount and an appetizer coupon. No one at the table was pleased with this solution. As we were waking out, the manager stopped my husband and I to give us his card and told us to let him know when we were coming back. We are never coming back!
It was awesome
Very dirty restaurant!!! Hostess was rude!
How was my reservation? Well... 12n was the reservation time... it’s now 1pm and I’ve been sitting at the table for an hour... no food. Barely any interaction. This location has gone DOWN hill.
Had a horrible wait time. We had a reservation but took at least 20 mins before we got seated. Then it took forever to get started with getting food. Waited over almost an hour before we got any food service. The place wasn’t even a third full. No one at our table could figure it out. Some of us were gonna get up and leave but then the chef showed up. Not sure if they didn’t have enough chefs show up cause there were plenty of workers standing around. Probably will never come again. Yelp reviews said terrible wait times and we experienced the same thing.
Food was great, the wait was over 2hrs long with reservations. Extra help is definitely needed at this location.
The whole experience was absolutely horrible. We place a reservation for Sunday evening and when we get there it was an extremely long line to even check in. We got there early of course so by the time we got to the hostess (about 10-15 minutes later) it was about the time that our appointment. Once we got checked in we were told to have a seat and we would be called up when they were ready for us. After about 40 minutes and asking multiple times they finally called us up. Keep in mind, WE MADE A RESERVATION!!!!, you have to wait 40 minutes even when you make a reservation??? I even overheard the hostess say several times to people who were walk-ins that there was a 3 hour wait. A 3 hour wait? Seriously? That is ridiculous. After sitting down the "waitress" took about 15 minutes to even approach our table and ask us for our drinks. Then another 10 or so to bring the waters back and take the orders. There was not a lot of people in the restaurant, only 3 tables outside of ours. After we waited another 15 or so minutes the cook had finally came out. The waitress was great at doing her disappearing act so we didn't see her for another 45-50 minutes until well after the cook was finished. The cook however was the only person that night to do a good job. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone what so ever. I've been to plenty of Hibachi places in Atlanta and the surrounding areas and never quite had this experience.
Didnt dinw in Buckhead there was almist an tgree hour wait went to Alpharetta abd woukd not recommend that location to anyone, for anything...ordered salmon a 23.00 plate you would think fried rice (a .50 value) would not be an up charge, end piece of frozen salmon cooked too long dry no taste and the noodles were horrible. My daughter does not eat meat and the only veggie fried rice option was zucchini when other vegetables were available in the restaurant. Horrible experience hardly worth the 116.00 tab
Not a fan of this garlic infused food, chicken is only cooked with garlic butter leaves it with no taste. Overpriced for the quality and taste of food!
I am always satisfied when I come to restaurant. The staff is very friendly and professional. My needs are always respected with the staff. I truly love this place.
The service was meh but the food per usual was BOMB and the reason I can deal with the so so service.
Wait is too long after being seated with a reservation. We waited at least 25 minutes before Chef came to our table or to be served.
It was a disappointing experience. Having been there years ago and enjoyed it, we were frustrated by the poor service and less than enjoyable ambiance. Certainly not worth what we paid.
