Bella Notte Ratings and Reviews

We had not dined at Bella Notte for quite some time. We were there this time with a group for a birthday celebration. The prices continue to rise as the food quality and portions decrease. Service was just barely adequate and there were very few diners in the restaurant. One of our group ordered off the special brunch menu and was told she could help herself to the extra things that went with it but was not told where/what they were.

This was our first time to Bella Notte. What a lovely spot! The food was delish! You must try the sausage appetizer. It was sweet and spicy. Just the right amount before the main course was served. Also keep in mind that Thursday is 1/2 price wine night. The server did a great job of taking care of us but not being overwhelming. We will certainly go back again and again!

Always an enjoyable experience, this visit was no exception. Heather provided exceptional service, dinner was delicious, and as an added treat they had some delicious wines at 1/2 price on the bottle! Our only complaint was that another group get the last of the chocolate soufflés, but we survived by choosing a crème brule and pistachio ice cream filled puffs.

Fabulouso as always! It was my second dinner at Bella Notte that week (it really is my favorite place!). I was excited to try the new summer menu! The Arancini was a delightful start to our meal as the spicy tomato jam was the tastiest of accompaniments for it! We all really loved the Market Salad - the summery veggies were a fresh and crisp array of flavors, the strawberry balsamic was a lovely touch and I love the addition of the farro!!! I also totally enjoyed my Summer Lasagna - the presentation with the 2 colorful sauces was pleasing to the eye and the robust flavor of both sauces were a delight to the palate! The layer of squash was wonderful! Loved our meal as usual! Bella Notte rocks!!!
Good but Average Food
The waitress seemed to be in a rush. The Italian food was average. The pasta was overcooked. The veal saltimbocca had a white sauce and lacked flavor. I wouldn't order it again. The place was bright and cheerful with a fake tree in the center. Our family is Italian so, we may be used to better Italian food.
No matter the menu always a delight!
As always a fabulous meal. I tend to get caught up in the seasonal menu because the options are always delicious! But having eaten off of the spring menu so many times and with the summer menu about to debut, I was having a hankering for an old standby, the Penne Arrabiatta, and was definitely not disappointed. Craving satisfied and I can't wait to try something from the summer menu Friday night !
Bella Notte is our favorite Italian rest ...
Bella Notte is our favorite Italian restaurant in Lexington by far. They do an excellent job at changing up the menu based on the seasons and there is almost always something new. Great food and some of the best servers around.
We visiting for the weekend from Michigan and wish that Bella Notte would relocate to there. We loved everything we tried at the restaurant including a local beer, the fabulous bread accompanied by dipping oil with herbs, the wood fire salmon salad, and my dining companion's sea scallops with fettucini. Even the chocolate pave dessert was fantastic. Our server was as very attentive and proficient. My sincere compliments to the entire staff! We look forward to our next visit to the area which will include at least 1 stop in your restaurant.
We dined here before a concert at Rupp Arena after reading all the great reviews and ratings for this restaurant. We thought we were going to have a unique, tasty dining experience but it was just okay. I would liken the experience to eating at Olive Garden, nothing special.
Not a place for us
We made reservations for prom night. We thought because we made reservations we'd get a nice table and boy were we wrong. The tables were so close together I barley had room to pull my chair out to sit. Then we realized the table was EXTREMELY lop sided.
After waiting on food, we were both HIGHLY disappointed. Food wasn't worth the price at all, it wasn't even good. We paid, left and went somewhere else and ate.
Friends Get Away
This restaurant had been recommended to us by friends whose children had UK. We also had one member that was celebrating her birthday. I had called to advise the restaurant we had ordered a birthday cake for the dinner. The staff in phone contact and in person were outstanding. Our server John Michael was extremely helpful and friendly with dinner recommendations. As I understand it this is not a chain restaurant but is locally owned. The food was good and the entire evening was delightful.
Great food equalled by great service
We were in town for a half marathon and wanted to get some pasta and some wine. We weren't expecting much, but we were surprised. The service was great and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and where the food was sourced. They source many ingredients from local KY farms.
We ordered from the seasonal menu and were surprised by the quality of the food in addition to the great taste. It was suitable for foodies as well as non-foodies. The portions were good sized and left us quite full.
Their chocolate souffle was a great end to the meal. Highly recommend visiting when in Lexington.
After a very long day travelling my husband searched and found Bella Notte. Wow what a perfect choice. We had the saltimbocca with veal, it was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly! Our waitress, Heather, was a delight and told us that the restaurant was privately owned ie not a chain. The food certainly reflected that. With chains it seems that the food just doesn't seem as fresh and is rather mundane. If you're in the Lexington area you really must try this great place. We will for sure!
