Bella - Westin Bear Mountain Resort Ratings and Reviews
Drove out to bear mountain with the family for Dine Around. I was expecting there'd be more to this restaurant than the 3 rows of seating. Apart from the lack of an ambiance, the views were stunning. The food wasn't bad but it didn't exactly hit it out of the park for me either. My sockeye salmon was really good but they could've added more to the pork tenderloin as it was on the lacking side of things. Crème brulee with the biscotti were a nice finishing touch. Unfortunately I don't see myself coming back here unless I'm staying at the Westin and can't be bothered to drive down the mountain to grab a bite.
We were greeted by the very friendly valet who then directed us to the restaurant. The host was also very friendly and offered us our choice of seats. I loved the romantic ambience. There was only 1 other couple in the restaurant so we wanted to sit away from them. But unfortunately there was a large and noisy gathering in the private dining room so our only option was to sit close to the other couple in order to hear ourselves talk. There was also entertainment in the bar across the way and we enjoyed hearing the singer throughout our meal. The service and food were excellent. Would have given an overall 5 if it weren't for the large group of people having fun, which is really not a bad thing!
Small portions for the amount of money you spend, which is typical in high class restaurants. However, these types of places would have food that you talk about for days. Food was mediocre, pricing through the roof, service was the only category that stood out.
This was our second Christmas Day visit and was even better than the first. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. If one dish was emptied it was replaced right away. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the room was warm and comfortable even though the outside weather was quite cold.
We booked for the Christmas day brunch and couldn't be happier! The ambiance from arrival in the lobby of the hotel with the Christmas tree, large teddy bear, fireplace roaring to the scenic view out the windows was lovely. Service was friendly and on point. We look forward to many more special events and times in between at your establishment. Thanks for helping make our Christmas extra special.
We decided to try the Bella Restaurant after being at the hotel earlier in the year for Celebration of Life event. We decided to try the restaurant for our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely meal and because it was quiet, we were able to have a nice intimate conversation during our meal. Thank you, and we will definitely dine here again!
Went with our daughter for Steak and Lobster. The steak was the best ever and done to perfection. Of course the Lobster was fabulous too. Our server was friendly and helpful and we felt well served. Also, the desert was the perfect ending to a great meal. We'll be back!
Overall good food and ambiance.
Mashed potatoes were a little salty and we found service good at first, but as the restaurant filled became sloppy. When plates were removed by the server, the cutlery was placed on the table leaving salty mashed potatoes behind.
Very small portions compared to last time we dinned there.
We were celebrating a friends 40th birthday and the food was amazing and the service we received our server, Jennifer was outstanding and over the top. We arrived at 6:30 and didn't leave until 10:00 pm . We all had three courses, cocktails, wine and dessert. Jennifer was so knowledgeable and friendly and didn't rush us through our evening. Our friends loved that evening and Jennifer made it even more special. Would recommend it and her to anyone.
First time dining at Bella and it was a nice experience. Although I never received a steak knife, after waiting for the server to bring one I finally got one myself off set table. There was also a very large table seated close by so it was very hard to enjoy a conversation. Beautiful views and delicious dishes but service could have been a little more attentive.
Ordered $47 dry aged steak as asked for it to be prepared med rare. Steak came out very Rare and cold. Asked to have new steak, they reheated the steak and brought it back out. At this point we now had a tough piece of meat that was over cooked and texture was gone.
Halibut entrée was cooked right but very bland.
Braised lamb pasta dish was excellent.
Chicken dish was cooked right as well but sauce was terrible, tasted like it was out of a package.
appys we good, well seasoned and creative.
wouldn't recommend the restaurant and wouldn't go back. $168 bill with bottle of wine and 2 appys and 2 entrees
It took 15 minutes before a waitress came to greet me and take my order. I had to request for a waitress to come from a hostess. We showed up the same time as this family of 4 and they were done with their meal 40 min into being seated. While we were still waiting for our food. No water was refilled during this time. The only time we received attention was when the food came and the bill.
We had been to Bella about a year and a half ago. We had a fabulous meal and kept saying we should go back. We had booked a reservation for this past Friday evening at 6:15pm to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived there, the place was almost empty except for a family of 4 in the corner. We ordered our steaks (medium rare). While we waited we were served fresh baked bread (very good) with oil & balsamic vinegar dip. When we received our meal, mine was medium and my husband's was medium well. At first the server implied that this is what we ordered, however we told him that we have always ordered med. rare. My husband had his redone, I decided I would eat mine, though I probably should have had it redone as well. The server brought my husband a salad while he waited for his meal. Though this was a nice gesture, my husband did not feel like salad and only had a couple bites. The meal was very disappointing both in flavour and quantity (1 side dish with the 6 oz tenderloin cost $42 and an extra $7 if you want an extra side dish). When our bill came the server gave us a 25% discount which we appreciated but we are very hesitant on whether we will come back or recommend this restaurant to friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bella. We had drinks on the deck first as it was a warm sunny evening, then we went in for a fabulous meal. Service was good and the food was better. The scallop risotto was excellent, the pork chop dinner was done beautifully. All in all the evening was a huge success.
