The service was outstanding for the pre-matinee crowd on Wednesday. We were seated upstairs and the noise level is loud which made it difficult to carry on conversation. The food is under-whelming. I've been here in the past and the food was disappointing then too. The pasta entree with three choices is a decent value but the quality is not great. I would recommend this place for pre-theater because the service knows how to get it done. You do not feel rushed. They are just very organized and very efficient.

Eight of us had a terrific dinner here before a show at the St. James. The service was excellent. They were in tune with our group and managed to keep us on time for our show. Three of us enjoyed the pasta option. I recommend this highly. The others enjoyed their dinners as well. We will definitely go back.

We had another lovely and affordable meal at Becco's. Four of us ordered the three pasta special and all three dishes were very good; the lasagna was excellent. The only slight disappointment was the Caesar salad. We have had it before and it is generally excellent. This time it was a bit tired and limp. We did enjoy our $27 bottle of wine - very good.

Why too crowded and tables too close together--it was a Zoo! The menu was OK and the wine options OK and priced well but we were barely able to hear ourselves think. Doubt we would ever return although it is obviously popular for OK dining on a budget.

We enjoyed our time at Becco, the food was well-prepared, tasty, and presented efficiently and smoothly. Our wait person told us the bill could not be split between the two couples which is not what I would have thought they would say. Most good restaurants are happy to do this.

Great dinner! Becco was recommended to me by 4 different people, so of course we had to try it out. We were 30 minutes late for our 5 PM reservation! They were so wonderful, they worked with us and got us a table right away! Which was great b/c we had to make a 7 PM show! Of course we were worried that we would be late, but they were able to get us out in time.
The place was packed! Which can only mean they have good food!
One downside was that the tables were tight! We couldn't get to our table without having to ask people to move. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, probably b/c there were so many people in there, but once we were at out table it didn't really bother us.
Food was delicious!!! We would definitely recommend to our friends!!

I have been to Becco's many times always before a Broadway show. Food is excellent and they always ask if we are headed for a show and what time the show is. They assure us they'll time our meal right in order to get to the show on time. I have recommended Becco's to many people. Only complaint....sat in the back room this time. There was only 2 of us. The tables were so close together my friend could hardly fit between the table to get out and use the restroom. Our conversation could be heard by the next table. No privacy......

Every time I visit Becco I am struck at how consistent it is. It never disappoints. I joined my pal from from London who loves the place. Fall is here, so it's Peperoni Ripieni season...peppers stuffed with beef, pork, veal and braised in tomato sauce. Yummy! Ask for a recommendation from the $29 wine list. We had the Fornace il Zizzolo. Delicious and it didn't break the bank.

The restaurant noise level was off the charts loud. The room has a low ceiling with tables packed together. We had difficulty getting to our table. I could not hear time the waiter so I had to ask him about the menu three times. He acted bothered and unapologetic. My husband and I scould barely hold a conversation. I got the whole fish which was alright. My husband got the gimmicky all you can eat pasta. It was average at best. The only thing good about Becco is the $29 wine menu. If you want good Italian food this is not the place for you.

The food is always good. I had the Liver for the second time in 3 weeks because it was so good the first time...and just as good the second time. It is a thick cut but is like butter. It melts in your mouth. I do however highly recommend you ask that they cook it medium-well to well. If it is undercooked it will have much less flavor. Rare or undercooked liver is very bland. Also, I recommend not ordering an appertiser and going for the "3 pasta special" that you can order with your entree. Each night they prepare 3 special pasta's and servers walk around with huge bowls of these pasta's and you get all 3 as much as and as often as you like (unlimited). To add all 3 Pasta's to your Entree cost $9.99

This is our 4th experience at Becco, and every time we return, it's even better. The food is out of this world, and the service is impeccable, not to mention the warm and cozy atmosphere. Oh, I would also like to mention the wine list, it's extensive, and they are tasty! This is a keeper, with fantastic affordable prices. We travel from Dutchess County NY just to enjoy a meal at Becco and will forever return. Try their unlimited 3-dish pasta? You will never order anything else. Thumbs up to this impeccable restaurant located in the heart of NYC!! I must warn you though, it can get very crowded, so make your early reservations. People wIll wait hours just to get a seat at Becco. One other warning, Becco can be addictive, so prepare yourself for unlimited enjoyment. We wish there was one located closer to Dutchess County; we'd never leave.

This is my 2nd visit to Becco. Their food was good... nothing exceptional but very good. We sat on the upstairs outdoor patio. It was EXTREMELY cramped with 3 tables but I preferred that over the loud dining room. They did as what time our show was to get us out on time which was appreciated. Food portions are good size and nice wine list.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Though it was very crowded and noisy during our pre-theatre dinner, the wait staff was friendly, professional and super efficient. I was amazed they careened around the close-fitting tables balancing many dishes but it never seemed like they were going to bump into someone. We did have a reservation which was honored very timely. The food was really good and the atmosphere was lively. We made it to the theatre in plenty of time. So thank you, Becco, for a lovely evening.

We were disappointed with our food. The portion sizes were good but we expected better tasting food. It was just average. I am of Italian descent and have had Italian food in various cities and countries. Given Lidia Bastianich's reputation as a chef (and this restaurant is her creation along with her son), we expected better.

First time dinner visit after a number of lunches at Becco. Had the same high standards of food and value. Had one of the $29 bottles of wine which was also very enjoyable. Overall a fantastic experience and look forward to visiting again when I am back in New York.

We arrived early for our reservation and the restaurant was able to accommodate us. We enjoyed a nice bottle of soave along with the calamari appetizer. I got the halibut special (very tasty), one of us got the pulled pork (malale arista) and loved it. The third in our party got the sinfone di pasta - overpriced at 24.95. Each of the entrees came with caesar salad. The pasta was supposed to come with antipasti and did not - maybe due to confusion about our order or as the restaurant filled up, pacing and service really degraded. Which was interesting because there was a lot of staff wandering around. In all a mixed experience.

We have been to Becco twice before this occasion. The food, service and value was much better In the past. The three arancini served as an appetizer had no substance therefore had no taste. They were severely overpriced for nine dollars. Two of our four entrées simply did not consist of enough a food on the plate. Once again for dessert, a total rip off. An extremely small assortment of various smudges of sweets for $15. The waiter who is very nice and spoke with a thick Spanish accent spilled the line twice while pouring. Three other assistant waiters that deliver the pasta were so much in a rush trying to accommodate the entire room that every time they served the pasta dropped or slid off of our plates. Very sloppy! The tables are arranged so close together all of our surrounding neighbors chairs were touching each other. The noise level was. close to intolerable.

The food was very average. I've had way better Italian food. The service was a little slow to start but at some point that changed and we were paid more attention. But what topped it off was the end. The dessert was delicious. We also forgot our doggy bag and the matre 'd came out and ran after us and caught us on the sidewalk. That takes some dedication! Amazing for a busy nyc restaurant.

Great place bear theater district. Staff was engaging and really put us at ease. Unfortunately we had a long delay, 35 mins, between appetizer and salad, which then rushed us for our showtime. We set aside 1:45 for dinner. Not sure if that's unreasonable for NY, especially at 4:45 pm.
Once recognized that the delay had occurred, they kept the food coming and were attentive. Really do think it was unusual oversight.
Wine list was great with some fantastic deals.
Pasta was fantastic. My wife had the liver and it was perfectly prepared.
Didn't have time for dessert. Definite willing to go back without a timeline!
