Beano's Cabin Ratings and Reviews
A mixed experience.Started off with snowcat host spilling his hot chocolate on my jacket, then had no waiter/waitress for 10 minutes. Then Waitress took cocktail order only to return several minutes later saying she forgot what we wanted. Still didn't write it down. So when the drinks arrived, two of three were wrong but she wanted to argue that they were right. Brad, the Sommelier, stepped in to make things right. The rest of the meal went well except two lamb entrees were over cooked. Brad and a new Waiter, Steve, saved the Birthday Celebration however. BTW, apparently, the Snowcat guy, Keegan, knew he had spilled his hot chocolate on my coat but figured in the darkness I wouldn't notice. However, as you might expect, the heat, the liquid and the smell over came the darkness.Unbelievable!
Sleigh ride needs some work. It had just snowed before our ride but it was above freezing so that left the seats and blankets wet. I had on leather pants which got soaked on the ride up. I sat through dinner with wet pants and then froze on the ride back. Need to work out this bc otherwise it was a great night!!!
The sled ride was magical. The $75 menu for children excessive although they were flexible enough to provide adult options for the children and desserts as well! The whole experience was a memorable one and despite the steep price tag we look forward to going again in the future!!
Beano's is an excellent experience all around from the sleigh ride to/from the restaurant to the 5 course meal and the wine list. The service was impeccable and friendly, the food was succulent and plenty. Would definitely go there for a special occasion if you in the Beaver Creek/Avon area!
We always enjoy Beano's, getting there, eating there, getting back. Always A+ in our ~10 times there, you get what you pay for.
We arrived in the BC parking garage at 7:45 pm on march 19 (Sunday) for the sleigh at 8 and returned to the garage gate at 10:45. The attendant apparently goes home at 10:30 (used to be 11) and the only way to get out of the garage, short of ramming the gate, was to pay the $15 the machine wanted via credit card. This is NOT the fault of Beano's Cabin - but do beware. I'm trying to find out who to write to in BC as well. When the booth was manned (personed), they would waive the parking fee for Beano's diners.
After spending $400 for two, which is not hard to do at Beano's, to have to pay $15 to get the car out of hock is ridiculous.
Loved the place and the food.
My primary complaint was the wine service. We ordered the wine pairing for each course, a total of ten wines for two people. I asked the waiter the names of three wines and each time he didn't know the name so he brought over the bottle. I asked to speak to the sommelier just to find out more about the wines and they thought I was kidding (a waiter and the hostess both told me that) so he never came over to our table. After the meal, they claimed the waiter was a sommelier. But given that he didn't even know the names of the wines he served, that was obviously a lie.
Notably, the hostess also seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed.
Great location, decor, food service. Ok wines. We paid over $500 for a meal for two. The least we could expect is to get some information about the wines they chose to serve us. We saw the sommelier go to just about every other table in the restaurant. Terrible wine service and absolutely no concern about how it affected the experience!
The ride up and back was beautiful. The Cabin was gorgeous. Service perfect. Food subpar. Too many heavy sauces. Lentil soup fresh and delicious. Both the pike and the bass were pretty tasteless and covered in a sauce that was not much better. Vegetables overcooked. Gnocchi ok but nothing to write home about. I had planned on taking our next guests, too, but will cancel. Not worth it.
We had a great time at Beano's Cabin. The adventure started with a moon lit sled ride to the cabin. Once at the cabin we were greeted by a friendly staff. The food was wonderful from start to finish. The service was above and beyond. The servers were very knowledgeable and very attentive to our dining experience. Hands down the best dish of the night was the Venison, followed by the the Pork Porterhouse coming in at a close second. We look forward to our next visit to Beano's. Thanks to all the staff for making our dinner one to remember.
It has been years since our last visit to Beano's and we were pleasantly surprised! The ride is so much fun, but dress warmly! The menu was creative and our food was perfectly prepared. The service was attentive and friendly. I ordered the house bison sausage which was UNREAL followed by a venison loin. OMG! The portion was very generous, I only ate half. The server offered to box the other half and we had steak and eggs this morning - YUM.
This was a memorable and delicious dinner!
The 5 course meal was delicious. The wait staff is friendly and they have a 3 course kids menu that offers great kid choices. My 7 year old that is normally a "chicken finger kid" loved my lamb meal. My daughter had the kids tenderloin and she loved her meal. I really enjoyed Frank's Salad which is a beet and greens salad. I could have eaten much more of that salad. The foie gras was one of the best I've had and my lamb was delicious. This was a expensive evening, but the snow cat pulling us up the mountain to this quaint log cabin and then the great food with family friendly wait staff, well, it was worth the price. I would treat myself to this experience again in the future.
This was a special birthday occasion, and our second visit to Beano's and Beaon's delivered a perfect night complete with snow on the ride up! Both the food ( updated menu from our visit in 2015 and it worked well) and wine great. Log fires and background live music added to the ambiance. The service was discreet and well timed. And we just love the bar and mountain cocktails. Thanks Beano's for making the evening extra special.
We have been to Beanos several times in the last few years and it still always feels very special. The staff is professional, well trained and welcoming. The new chef has made a few additions to the menu this year but also kept some of our favorites (the pork porterhouse). The "chocolate cake" was so delicious with graham cracker crumbles and marshmallow ice cream!!! Thank you for another great evening and we can't wait for next years annual dinner date :)
