What can you say about a feast for your anniversary! The atmosphere that includes the sunset as the backdrop for a prelude for an absolutely delicious meal, the wine was superb, VIN # 516 Riesling from Germany, suggested by either the management or our server Boris, who incidentally, was fabulous, friendly, attentive and very very helpful. OUTSTANDING EVENING!!! Thank you! 10-19-2016

Baleen is one of our go-to restaurants for special occasions or out of town guests. The setting is always pleasant; we asked for our favorite spot out on the veranda. The food is always well done and nicely presented, and often has special unusual finishes or accompaniments to dishes you already enjoy. This time, I ordered one of their menu standards, done differently, and my husband ordered one of the daily fish specials. The wine we chose was especially nice and chocolate kahlua dessert was delicious. Wait staff was particularly attentive. Baleen appeals to both locals and visitors to the area. We have never been disappointed.

We got engaged at Baleen years ago and have eaten here numerous times since. The view is beautiful but this time the service was just ok. We were celebrating our anniversary and little was done by staff. Other nearby restaurants give 5 star service especially for celebrations. If you're looking for gulf view dining, Baleen is great, but not for special occasions or fine dining experience. We even had to ask for napkins.

1) Anniversaries: 2 being celebrated, a 20th and a 12th. I got a rose. My cousin did not. The waiter brought a 2nd after we reminded him, but the restaurant had already been told 3 times: at booking, at confirmation, and at seating!!!
2) Secondly, those celebrating are to receive a complimentary dessert. Neither of our 2 couples.were even offered this. That irks me, as this was promised, but at the time, I had forgotten about it. Our server should have been on top of this.
3) This is, I'm sure, due to our server's inability to give decent attention to our table. Service was very, very slow, as he seemed to have way too many tables to manage. He was excellent when there, but drinks took forever, the appetizers took forever, and after receiving entrees, which also took an extraordinary amount of time, he asked if our 1st bite was as expected (which it was). But after that, we NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN until the check arrived. HOW disappointing. We blame him, and also the management for overworking him.
4) The food was 3.5/5. Lobster risotto was lacking much lobster, so it had weak flavor. The seafood pasta was excellent and was a large lportion. The scallop dinner portion was too small, even for scallops.
5) The view/ambience was compromised by a few things: being seated all the way at the end by the servers' outside station (noisy and unromantic/unpleassnt), being seated within shoulder touching distance by a family instead of other couples that were also celebrating, and lastly, the beach tractor taking up all the lounge chairs. It kept going back and forth throughout our meal, spoiling the view, collecting furniture. There was also a catering event being set up on the lawn just to the left in front of us, so again, the entire ambience was pretty poor for a double anniversary commemoration.
We doubt we'll return, and we hope for better beach front restaurants to come to the Naples area.

We looked forward to eating at Baleen as we had not eaten there in a long time! The receptionist however, was extremely rude, and seemed annoyed that she actually had to speak to us! We had a reservation and were told, rudely, that we should go to the bar and wait for a table to open up! Now, it wasn't that we minded going to the bar to wait, it was her attitude. First impressions are important. Our waiter Cosimo, however, was fabulous and made our night once we were seated! Very charming, funny and most pleasant. The food was good, not great, but the view and weather were perfect!

I had stated it was an anniversary dinner for my wife and myself, yet the restaurant tried to sit us next to a family with a small screaming child. When we balked at that, they sat us one table further away. The child was definitely annoying, and even without the child, it's a very loud environment outside vs. sitting indoors which we found to be interesting.

This restaurants location can't be beat. The water view, sunsets are beautiful. On this visit my meal was disappointing. The risotto with lobster was so overdone that the rice was mush. Our waiter was appropriately apologetic but offered a dessert as compensation. I feel this caliber restaurant could have done better. That said I would return.

Beautiful location in north Naples FL on the beach! We enjoyed z 3-course brunch on a recent Sunday afternoon!
The Bloody Mary cocktail was great! I also enjoyed a soup and sandwich first course before huevos rancheros. To finish up I enjoyed the key lime pie!

Service redeemed the food.
We went to Bayleen for a special anniversary dinner. We sat outside and watched the sunset as we had a cocktail. I questioned the server about the special fish they were serving - corvino, which I had never had. He told me if I liked grouper (which I do) this was similar, so I tried it. Once tasted, I decided it was very ordinary, not like the grouper I've had, and didn't finish it. I never thought about sending it back. When the server stopped by to ask how we liked our food, I just casually mentioned that I thought the corvino was just ordinary.
When we got the check, our server told us he wasn't charging us for my dinner! And, because it was our anniversary, our dessert was complimentary. We were very touched. Nice recovery, Bayleen!

I've been to Baleen for the past 4 years, to celebrate my Mom's birthday. This time was probably the best yet; both in terms of the food and the service. The ambiance is perfect! We checked out the time for sunset and lucked out with a beautiful one! Even with a nasty red tide, the outdoor seating was perfect!
I have to admit, that in the past, the ambiance has always been great, but the food has been just OK. This time, I got the chef's snapper special, and it was fabulous! In addition, our service could not have been better! Whether her name was Catty or Patty, she was wonderful!
So, with beautiful sunset seating, great drinks, great food and fabulous service... Baleen may still be the best in Naples.

For a special splurge, an evening at Balleen is a pleasure. We dined on the terrace and watched a Gulf sunset. The pork loin chops I enjoyed were perfectly prepared. Cosimo was an attentive waiter. My dining partner's gluten free requests were met cheerfully.

We have found Baleens to be the best waterfront dining in Naples. It's a spectacular setting at sunset and after dinner you can enjoy their beachfront firepit if you are lucky enough to get a seat. Excellent food. Top notch service.

This was our first time in the rest for Dinner. It's beach front and we could see the sunset from our table and the ambience was quiet/relaxing. The service was good too, attentive and knowledgeable (no unnecessary interruptions). We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, so he got a free dessert and it was delicious (no singing). It was kind of expensive, since the food was good but not out of the extraordinary. It is definitely a good place to have a date or a romantic dinner, is beachfront, so you can walk to the beach after the meal or sit by the firepit enjoying cocktails in the evening...

Right on the beach, Baleen is a lovely restaurant with outdoor seating where you can watch the sun set over the ocean. The food was fabulous and the drinks were innovative and delicious. Our wait staff was very attentive to all our needs. I would recommend Baleen for a special occasion or a romantic evening. When nightfall comes, tiki torches are lit and there is a lovely fireplace where you can sit and have cocktails or simply watch the sunset. We enjoyed our evening immensely.

We traveled about 45 minutes to Baleens and it was worth the trip. Very enjoyable dinner. Cocktails were original and we loved them. Nice relaxing area to enjoy cocktails and watch sun begin to set over beach. Sat for dinner as sun set. Spectacular view! Dinner was very good. Service was excellent. Desserts very good also. A very special night. Give it a try for a special occasion.

This restaurant food was way overprice, a basic 1/2 bottle of wine was $40.00, you could buy it for $7.00 at total wines, yes I know that restaurants make money on their drinks but that was ridiculous. Service was good. Will never dine there again...note this is the only time I have ever written a bad review of any restaurant.

We had a reservation,"which we arrived an hour early to. We could not go into the building because of fire alarms. When we got inside we sat outside for a drink and what we thought would be a quick snack. An appetizer took 45 minutes to come to our table, during which the fire alarm went off again. When we finally got sat we ordered quite quickly, our order took over an hour to come to our table, with our soup taking 25 minutes. It was disappointing.

The restaurant should have never been open tonight. It was like Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares. Never seen anything like it. Hopefully they clean up their act because we have gone here many times before without issues. Service was horrendous, management was horrendous, the chef must have left the kitchen. Let's hope they clean it up and it never happens again.

I was quite surprised that it was so difficult to get a reservation at 5:30. We arrived at 5 just due to our time table and sat at the bar until 5:30 when we were guided through an empty restaurant to our table. We sat outside and the staff was extremely attentive when we thought we heard a creature in the bushes. Since it turned out be a cute , little bird we simply enjoyed it. That is until a fire alarm went off and we were forced to evacuate even our outdoor seating for at least 20( maybe 30) minutes until the all clear was given. We were then reseated but inside this time because we had gotten overheated sitting out on the lawn in the sun while we waited. Evacuating for safety is excellent and necessary but when the alarm went off again for 10 minutes or so we knew it was a faulty system. The staff gave us no explanation but told us we could remain seated. We spent the rest of our meal with the alarm going off over our heads making conversation less than ideal. These things happen with electronic systems and the staff was very apologetic for the inconvenience. Apologies were wonderful but a compensation such as a free drink, dessert or even a cup of coffee would have been appreciated. Our waiter was wonderful but clearly the management did not give him the freedom to offer this to their guests. I know this is a Naples favorite but this adventure did not impress me except for the beautiful view. I would go back just for that.

We went early for happy hour. Happy hour bar menu very limited.
They have a 3 course meal for $45. The choices were good. I had the skirt steak, and it was seasoned well. Extensive wine list.
There were 6 of us, and everyone was happy with their meal.
The view was outstanding. Great view of the sunset.

am sad to say I was very disappointed with our experience. The service was way below average, it was a struggle just to keep our water glasses full! Took our daughter there to celebrate her birthday, and while the view was spectacular, everything else was not. It was like there were too many people running around, but no one knew who was supposed to be doing what! At the end of the meal they brought my daughter a dessert and the writing said "happy anniversary " the waiter just kinda laughed it off like no big deal! He should have never brought it to the table! I felt like he was pretty "checked out" for the whole meal. Needless to say we won't be returning anytime soon.
