First time. Impressed
Great food! Great staff!
Had the special which was fried chicken with cheddar biscuit for the main and a sausage plate as a starter. Unfortunately other than the biscuit neither impressed.
The butcher burger was amazing and enjoyed, the classics burger was a hit, the lamb dinner a bit dry. Otherwise an enjoyable evening.
One of the top restrauants in Canada. The service is among the best in the city. I can't recommend this place enough.
Excellent as always. Food was outstanding and service superb.
This was our second time visiting Ayden. The food was just as creative and delicious as our first visit and the service we received was knowledgeable and just the right blend between attentive and relaxed
I was a bit concerned when I saw the limited menu, but was so impressed with the food quality and preparation I want to go back and try every dish as I am sure they will all be outstanding. Good price point for well prepared entrees. Highly recommend!
Went for anniversary super got the table we requested had the mushroom starter and the hen for the main course then they surprised us with a complimentary dessert was all excellent service as well . Highly recommended will definitely be back.
I have always loved this restaurant. However perhaps the ventilation needs some work? I came home smelling like the restaurant and the food. It was in my hair and clothes and even my jacket. Hopefully something can change.
Ayden is the flagship restaurant of Saskatoon's prodigal son Dale McKay, former Top Chef Canada winter who came home from Vancouver to put his stamp on the local food scene. Thanks to him and others, Saskatoon has taken it up several notches in the last decade. Ayden's food is reliably very good and often inventive. Two of us had a strip steak special that was subtly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and paired with sweet potato, plus a shared seafood spread appetizer that was generous in quantity and well-balanced. The madeleines swathed in icing sugar with chocolate dipping sauce did their job as a concluding guilty pleasure. The bar does a better job of a very dry gin martini than most. The wine list isn't intimidatingly large and pretty pricey for Saskatoon, but again, it's hard to go wrong. The ambience is not-quite-minimalist chic and subdivided into more and less casual. The servers are knowledgeable, attentive, and unstuffy. You really can't go wrong here.
The food was too greasy, too little and too salty. Not worth the money. Good service and nice place.Too dark not enough light to see what you eating. Not recommended for food but the late afternoon tea or drink. Two out of star for the food. Not recommended.
The food was amazing! Go out for a treat once a year and can always count on having a amazing meal here.
OUR SERVER KATIE WAS FANTASTIC, SHE IS KNOWS THE FOOD AND BEER MENU VERY WELL!
THE CHEF CREATED A GREAT MEAL FOR US.
This is probably our favorite place for a night out in Saskatoon. The food is always amazing and the menu changes, so there is always something new. The cocktails are delicious too. Staff are great and it's consistently a great evening. Never disappointed when we leave. Highly recommend.
Date night with my husband! Afternoon movie and dinner. Close to the theatre so we just parked at the theatre and walked over after our movie for dinner. Easy!
My husband found the restaurant a little dark for his liking as he could not really read the menu. We had researched the menu on line a head of time and had a good idea what we would have.
Food was fantastic. He had the beef - steak.
I had the pasta. My meal felt very small by comparison and I was done a long time before he was. I wished I would have had a small pre salad or garlic toast as I did not finish full. He on the other hand had a huge steak, baked potato and a good size salad in his meal. His steak looked delicious- he said it was very good.
We are not drinkers and were happy to have our water glasses regularly filled. We finished off with the dessert - orange. That was fabulous !!!
I am a picky eater and don’t like to try unknown food. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed everything. We also shared the kennebec fries as an appetizer. They were perfect!
I would absolutely go back there, highly recommend. The serving staff were quick, ready and friendly. All around great experience for us.
Our server was really good. He didn’t miss a thing! Very polite and knew his job well, he knew the menu answered our questions and offered suggestions. The food was really good. I do think it was a tad expensive for the quantity that was offered. Maybe a bit more food, larger portions. The ambiance was great! The lighting was subtle and very cool to see the chefs working their magic in the kitchen. All in all great experience!
Was a great first time. Taylor you did very well. Proud of you
The food was not spectacular and the clothes are smelling after dinner!
My husband and I went to Ayden to celebrate a special event. Our food and drinks were wonderful - the pasta dish was amazing! Even better, our waitress was amazing. She offered help finding the perfect drinks for us, checked on everything when it came out, and comp-ed us a dessert when she found out we were celebrating. Ayden is definitely our go-to place for a dinner that won't disappoint!
The food was very tasty, but because it was Valentine’s Day, they did a special menu. The portions were fairly small for the price of the set menu so that’s was my only issue with it. The music was also too loud for a “romantic” setting.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was good, could use a couple more mocktale options. The one they have is really good though
Great food and they even bought us a dessert for our anniversary!! Thanks again!!
Everything was just okay, nothing spectacular and for the price expect more.
We had a group of 12 for dinner. The service was great and the food was outstanding. Always great to see Dale in the kitchen working his magic.
Love Ayden, and we will be back!
My wife ordered the burger, it was very underdone, almost Raw, the bacon on the burger also was under cooked and looked raw
The flavor of the food was great.
The supporting staff (busser/hostess) were helpful.
Unfortunately, the lamb entree was so small I have trouble seeing how it could be enough dinner for the average customer. When paying nearly $40.00 for an entree you should expect to be full. I was not satisfied, and I'm considered petite. Furthermore, I was not payed the attention one would hope for from their server. I am young, and I felt this translated to a lack of urgency and care when dealing with my server. I had requested a set of steak knives when our entrees came, but instead was given a single knife for my girlfriend's steak, leaving me to work with a butter knife. Finally, I had made a reservation prior to dining. Generally one would hope this means you would receive a "choice" table. Instead, we were sat in a corner with tables that are placed uncomfortably close together. (Again, I'm not a large person). This may be fine for a lunch setting, but it made for an awkward dinner environment.
We selected this restaurant on reputation alone. Fantastic food, great presentation of our entrees and amazing service. Such a trendy option for downtown Saskatoon. Enjoyed shrimp as an appetizer, steak, pasta and an awesome bottle of burrowing owl. Enjoyed some warm sweet Madeline’s dipped in chocolate sauce for dessert. We will be back. Such a great birthday supper.
A little loud, but great food. Not the best place for a romantic dinner, but great for a night out!
Always enjoy the food. The service is always excellent.
Best restaurant in Saskatoon
Once again we really enjoyed our meal and beverages. The service was terrific and accommodated our time requirements (we needed to be done by 7:30 to get to The Persephone Theatre on time) and we did.
Thank you for another memorable evening and great food. Although niether of us was able to finish our chicken, as the portions were a little larger than we could finish.
This was our first visit to Ayden. What a wonderful meal and evening for my daughter and myself. The service was perfect and so helpful. I would definitely go again. A little pricey to partake in all courses with minimal drinks but for a special occasion this would not deter me in the future
Barb and Jody
Saskatoon’s finest! By far one of my favourite restuarants in the country!
As always the food does not disappoint. Those PEROGIES are to die for. Great environment, very Accomadating to food allergies. Always leave happy and will look forward to our next meal there soon. No wonder this is our favorite place around! Great job guys!
The steak was most certainly not worth 45 dollars and the service was less than attentive, boarding on rude. The starters and my partners chicken however were very well prepared and presented. I had a opportunity to sit at the bar before our meals and the bartenders and their cocktails were excellent. Just too bad about the server and the steak.
We had a fantastic time, food was great, staff was very friendly and helpful. If the drink service had been a little quicker I would give it a 5 out of 5.But in their defence, it was a busy Saturday night.
‘‘Twas good, I like the food. The deer on the walls activated my inner animal activist.”
We had heard about the restaurant so were looking forward to trying it out. It lived up to our expectations. We will definately return.
We came to celebrate 2 belated birthdays and we were very surprised that they remembered and acknowledged the birthdays...so a big plus there as I had recently taken someone out to another very popular restaurant and said it was for a b-day and they didn't do anything special. So well done! As well the food is always tasty, service is always great and ambiance always lovely. Thank you for making an evening out more special! Class act as always :-)
