Great room, bar staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
Delicious food, excellent service. As always! We are from out of town and always make a point of going whenever we are in the city
Fantastic as usual!
We had a great experience at Ayden, I had the Chicken with the white bean fritters, delicious!
I had never had white bean fritters and I would go back again just for those.
We are excited to try the other 2 restaurants associated with the Grass Roots chain!
Great food, drink prices are pretty pricey about $10-$15 a drink. Would go back but only for a special occasion
Amazing experience. My date loved the twist on the Old Fashion cocktail!
Amazing. Excellent atmosphere with top notch service. We are new to Saskatoon and I polled my work team and Aydens was most mentioned. It was our 1st wedding anniversary dinner and we could not have had better drinks, service and oh so amazing food anywhere! Absolutely will be back (and not just for anniversaries)
This is a very good restaurant and we will continue to support it. We did have a disconcerting experience this occasion that the restaurant should be aware of but which would not dissuade us from going there again.
My wife’s meal was undercooked. We sent it back. They brought it again. In our view it was still not properly cooked. My wife ate part of it and sent it back again. The manager came to the table and said that notwithstanding what we thought it was properly cooked. My wife is a professional cook. They did not adjust our bill or even offer some form of redress. I thought that the manager was a little arrogant. The rest of the serving staff tried hard.
We again had a fabulous time and a fabulous dinner. Seated at a table in front of the pass and seeing the food go out, the great food and the best service by a Katie, Ayden yet again came through.
Food was very good although was going to order the burger but they ran out of buns. Service was a bit sketchy as we had two different servers helping us for the first part of our evening then one disappeared. Cocktails were excellent.
Overall it was a good experience, but I felt as if the wait staff was almost overbearing. Taking my girlfriend for a birthday supper, and the meal was good, but felt like our conversation was always getting interrupted with people bringing us food, taking dishes away, filling our water when not necessary, etc. The service was too good I would say, and it didn't let our conversation flow. The food was good, but I would still say overpriced somewhat.
Everything was great except blackened broccoli...ashes.
Wonderful experience for a special occasion. The peroxide and S’mores were amazing!
First time. Impressed
Great food! Great staff!
Had the special which was fried chicken with cheddar biscuit for the main and a sausage plate as a starter. Unfortunately other than the biscuit neither impressed.
The butcher burger was amazing and enjoyed, the classics burger was a hit, the lamb dinner a bit dry. Otherwise an enjoyable evening.
One of the top restrauants in Canada. The service is among the best in the city. I can't recommend this place enough.
Excellent as always. Food was outstanding and service superb.
This was our second time visiting Ayden. The food was just as creative and delicious as our first visit and the service we received was knowledgeable and just the right blend between attentive and relaxed
I was a bit concerned when I saw the limited menu, but was so impressed with the food quality and preparation I want to go back and try every dish as I am sure they will all be outstanding. Good price point for well prepared entrees. Highly recommend!
Went for anniversary super got the table we requested had the mushroom starter and the hen for the main course then they surprised us with a complimentary dessert was all excellent service as well . Highly recommended will definitely be back.
I have always loved this restaurant. However perhaps the ventilation needs some work? I came home smelling like the restaurant and the food. It was in my hair and clothes and even my jacket. Hopefully something can change.
Ayden is the flagship restaurant of Saskatoon's prodigal son Dale McKay, former Top Chef Canada winter who came home from Vancouver to put his stamp on the local food scene. Thanks to him and others, Saskatoon has taken it up several notches in the last decade. Ayden's food is reliably very good and often inventive. Two of us had a strip steak special that was subtly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and paired with sweet potato, plus a shared seafood spread appetizer that was generous in quantity and well-balanced. The madeleines swathed in icing sugar with chocolate dipping sauce did their job as a concluding guilty pleasure. The bar does a better job of a very dry gin martini than most. The wine list isn't intimidatingly large and pretty pricey for Saskatoon, but again, it's hard to go wrong. The ambience is not-quite-minimalist chic and subdivided into more and less casual. The servers are knowledgeable, attentive, and unstuffy. You really can't go wrong here.
The food was too greasy, too little and too salty. Not worth the money. Good service and nice place.Too dark not enough light to see what you eating. Not recommended for food but the late afternoon tea or drink. Two out of star for the food. Not recommended.
The food was amazing! Go out for a treat once a year and can always count on having a amazing meal here.
OUR SERVER KATIE WAS FANTASTIC, SHE IS KNOWS THE FOOD AND BEER MENU VERY WELL!
THE CHEF CREATED A GREAT MEAL FOR US.
This is probably our favorite place for a night out in Saskatoon. The food is always amazing and the menu changes, so there is always something new. The cocktails are delicious too. Staff are great and it's consistently a great evening. Never disappointed when we leave. Highly recommend.
Date night with my husband! Afternoon movie and dinner. Close to the theatre so we just parked at the theatre and walked over after our movie for dinner. Easy!
My husband found the restaurant a little dark for his liking as he could not really read the menu. We had researched the menu on line a head of time and had a good idea what we would have.
Food was fantastic. He had the beef - steak.
I had the pasta. My meal felt very small by comparison and I was done a long time before he was. I wished I would have had a small pre salad or garlic toast as I did not finish full. He on the other hand had a huge steak, baked potato and a good size salad in his meal. His steak looked delicious- he said it was very good.
We are not drinkers and were happy to have our water glasses regularly filled. We finished off with the dessert - orange. That was fabulous !!!
I am a picky eater and don’t like to try unknown food. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed everything. We also shared the kennebec fries as an appetizer. They were perfect!
I would absolutely go back there, highly recommend. The serving staff were quick, ready and friendly. All around great experience for us.
Our server was really good. He didn’t miss a thing! Very polite and knew his job well, he knew the menu answered our questions and offered suggestions. The food was really good. I do think it was a tad expensive for the quantity that was offered. Maybe a bit more food, larger portions. The ambiance was great! The lighting was subtle and very cool to see the chefs working their magic in the kitchen. All in all great experience!
Was a great first time. Taylor you did very well. Proud of you
The food was not spectacular and the clothes are smelling after dinner!
My husband and I went to Ayden to celebrate a special event. Our food and drinks were wonderful - the pasta dish was amazing! Even better, our waitress was amazing. She offered help finding the perfect drinks for us, checked on everything when it came out, and comp-ed us a dessert when she found out we were celebrating. Ayden is definitely our go-to place for a dinner that won't disappoint!
The food was very tasty, but because it was Valentine’s Day, they did a special menu. The portions were fairly small for the price of the set menu so that’s was my only issue with it. The music was also too loud for a “romantic” setting.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was good, could use a couple more mocktale options. The one they have is really good though
Great food and they even bought us a dessert for our anniversary!! Thanks again!!
Everything was just okay, nothing spectacular and for the price expect more.
We had a group of 12 for dinner. The service was great and the food was outstanding. Always great to see Dale in the kitchen working his magic.
Love Ayden, and we will be back!
My wife ordered the burger, it was very underdone, almost Raw, the bacon on the burger also was under cooked and looked raw
The flavor of the food was great.
The supporting staff (busser/hostess) were helpful.
Unfortunately, the lamb entree was so small I have trouble seeing how it could be enough dinner for the average customer. When paying nearly $40.00 for an entree you should expect to be full. I was not satisfied, and I'm considered petite. Furthermore, I was not payed the attention one would hope for from their server. I am young, and I felt this translated to a lack of urgency and care when dealing with my server. I had requested a set of steak knives when our entrees came, but instead was given a single knife for my girlfriend's steak, leaving me to work with a butter knife. Finally, I had made a reservation prior to dining. Generally one would hope this means you would receive a "choice" table. Instead, we were sat in a corner with tables that are placed uncomfortably close together. (Again, I'm not a large person). This may be fine for a lunch setting, but it made for an awkward dinner environment.
