The food at this restaurant was poor. The shrimp appetizer was so spicy it was not edible (ordered by a person who likes spice), the crab cakes were more filler than crab and so small they needed to be served on a huge bed of greens, the Caesar salad was hunks of head lettuce over dressed with ordinary (bottled?) dressing. The main dishes were cooked but not special as they should have been at the price they cost. There are too many wonderful restaurants in Seattle to go here again. Oh, the view was great.

Outstanding service that was very accommodating to our needs. Sommelier selected an excellent wine that met our taste and budget. I sent back my sea bass as it was over salted. It was replaced without fuss. Waitress was a gem.

We enjoyed a great meal from the Seattle Restaurant Week menu and had recommended wine pairings with our entrees and a couple side dishes. The steelhead and Lamb Shank entrees were excellent. Our waiter made us feel welcome and was the perfect balance of attentive, helpful suggestions, and followup at just the right times.

it was a business dinner but also a birthday so we combined both. great night and good food and service. Noise level a little too loud but all in all great place to go to. Bar atmosphere was very inviting. A must do for a great dinner.

Amazing restaurant and extremely formal but relaxed. The service was amazing ! I brought some customers there and I was so pleased they loved it. Take advantage of their shuttle if you need it . My customer said the best meal they ever had !

We came as part of restaurant week and my husbands birthday and my friends 20th anniversary . I've always wanted to try this place and haven't had a chance yet and when I saw it listed I thought perfect, the atmosphere is great here and the service awesome, although waiter forgot something a few times. The salads me Steelhead was delicious and my Oso Buco was very dry and hard disguised by gravy and missing seasoning I took it home and made soup out of the bone and dryer meat. One of my friends had the tuna and said it too was blan and not that tasty I told the waiter about the tuna but he didn't offer anything else so I didn't say anything about mine to him I don't want to make a stink on someone's birthday party . I did order the roasted corn and that was the added flavor that helped get some flavor on to our pallets, the best taste on my plate was the butternut squash under everything . The deserts and oysters were a big hit!

It was Restaurant Week in Seattle and we decided to have dinner. During Restaurant Week the restaurants have a set menu showcasing their specialties and Aqua was no exception. The food was delicious but the service was poor. One entree came with no hot vegetables, as stated on the menu and the coffee was delivered after a second request. This restaurant requires a $30 reservation deposit for a NO Show and a 20% service fee is added to the bill. The service was not worth the 20% fee. We will not be returning to Aqua by El Gaucho again.

The "what would you recommend this restaurant for?" question was odd. Is it what would I recommend for them to do or would I recommend it for the reasons I selected?
Besides that..... This is our favorite Seattle restaurant and always a wonderful evening

It's one of those "high-end" place where the decor looks nice and classic, but the food is just so-so (it wasn't not bad, but we didn't get "wow" by it). It might be nice place for lunch (because of the view). If you like having "fancy" dinner is a super loud environment in a nice chair/table/decor, this might be the place for you. For us, we think there are better options out there for how much we paid for our meals.

Good food, good price for three course dinner (Seattle Restaurant Week), service was good at first, but after main course, we waited a long, LONG time for them to clear our plates and for dessert...I'd say we had all been done eating for at least 15-20 minutes...it wasn't that busy, not sure what happened...definitely not what we usually see at any El Gaucho property, was surprised, that's for sure.

Aqua by El Gaucho exceeded expectations. This was my first time at Aqua and I came from the east coast with my sisters. All staff were very attention, helpful and professional - from the hostess and bartender to the waiter and sommelier. When I eat fine dining I hope and expect for equal high quality in food, service and decor. This restaurant hit all three out of the park. Looking forward to my next visit.

Perfect in every way. Friendly valet service - they even send you off with some cookies! Incredible service - fast, friendly, efficient but not intrusive. Great cocktails - their dirty vodka martini rivals the best I've had (in my home)! The bread is delicious and they are not stingy with it. The salads were fresh and generously-sized. Our entrees (leg of lamb) was superb - large, meaty, tender and succulent. Sides were delicious - garlic mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese. Dessert was divine - warm apple crumble tart with a buttery crust and rich vanilla ice creat. Fantastic dining experience!

We were looking for a place that served lobster tail and we found it. Very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay we loved every minute of it. The only downfall was the price. After our meal aqua gave me and my wife a free shuttle ride back to our room.

The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. We had an anniversary celebration and our every request was attended to with great care. On top of the rose pedals on the table and champagne chilly beside our table upon arrival, the anniversary couple was served their deserts with the words Happy Anniversary inscribed on the plates in chocolate. The restaurant is willing to give menus without the prices, which we will take advantage of the next time we host an event with guests. We will always remember this event and the great food and service!

We have been to aqua times and this time we went for our anniversary. They put us at a booth table that they decorated with rose petals but it was not by the window. We did see the windows but unfortunately the sun was coming down and was straight in our eyes for almost the entire time.
I had a half order of crab stuffed shrimp which was kind of boring and not well balanced. I also had a half order of the scallops which were amazing but the risotto was not good; the vegetables in it were undercooked and crunchy. My husbands salmon was quite tasty but was not balanced - there was not enough acid . For what you pay here it should be better. It seems like the quality has gone down.

Aqua is an out of the way restaurant, on the water, and worth visiting. The restaurant is loud, and energetic; nevertheless, the staff were able to get the four of us a window side table, which was a little quieter, and allowed us to celebrate a lovely 80th Birthday. The Oysters were excellent, and my halibut steak, broiled with lemon and lots of garlic was outstanding. The sorbet was a nice and simple and well prepared finish for an evening that included our wines: a 2005 Krug followed by a 60 LaTour...not too bad.

Aqua by El Gaucho really lives up to the expectations. I made the reservation about a week ahead of time, with a couple of special requests (menus with no prices; flowers and champagne; table with view), all were carefully attended to. Food was superb, if a bit too salty, service was excellent, and view was fantastic. Thank you, El Gaucho, we'll be back!

Enjoyed our experience from the moment we arrived in the front door. A friendly welcome, seated immediately, service was excellent and the meal was delicious. A great way to spend my birthday in Seattle.
Very high on my list to revisit when we visit Seattle again.

Our server kathleen. Was amazing. Took great care of us. Made our first time dining at this restaurant special. Especially, reason for dining was for my friends birthday. As we were leaving kathleen surprised us. that they have a shuttle to our hotel. That was very nice considering my friend & i have been ubering the entire weekend. Our driver ( the kid) we didn't catch his name. But we did ask his age(21), thought he was extremely friendly, professional, & respectful made our complimentary shuttle to our hotel relaxing & stress free.
