We were celebrating a birthday. The Ancaster Mill has a 'Sunday Supper' with two appetizers shared between the diners, a choice of one entree out of three, and a choice of pies for dessert (with our without whipped cream, ice cream etc.) Service was friendly and swift, though the hostess who escorted us to our table could have adjusted her pace to an older couple. Once seated, we had four or five servers over our two hours, all of whom were knowledgeable and friendly, though it felt a bit that they were a super-busy team trying to cover a lot of tables. The main dining room is quite noisy, given the hard surfaces which prevail. Our food was very good, and we had an enjoyable time - though we were reported as no-shows, despite the fact that we were a few minutes early, declared our reservation, and were there for two hours! Perhaps they crossed off the wrong couple - an easily understandable error. Overall, a very good time, with a good combination of part-time and full-time staff, and we would go again.

The Ancaster Mill is a longstanding 'special treat' when we travel back to see family and friends. The Sunday Brunch is one of the very best & the setting, service and food are excellent. We loved it for our special reunion celebration.

We had a lovely dinner with a view of the cascading stream on one side and the wood-burning fireplace on the other. Great ambience. The room is modern but retains the character of the mill it once was. The menu was mushroom based (for the fall season). Forest mushroom soup was delish and so were the bison terrine and quail apps. Interesting main courses are prepared with care. One of us especially loved the pork cheeks. We would go back in a heartbeat. Strange that they only have a selection of pies for dessert.

We had a great meal there and celebrated our engagement!
We went on Sunday which is their "Sunday Supper"
All apps and sides are served family style and their menu is reduced
I would go back again but probably not on the Sunday so we could have more selection
Beautiful location and food was amazing as usual!

I would prefer if a sparkling wine was served directly from a bottle by a waiter.
Since a sparkling wine has been standing for a while at the bar so it has no bubble and taste as a regular wine. This procedure makes pointless that you serve a sparkling wine.

We got to the Mill at 9:17 for our 9:30 reservation and weren't seated for a while. We got to our table at 9:45 or so. The waiting area was nice and cozy as it was chilly out and there was some seating as well, so it was a comfortable wait. The service was excellent as usual. Our coffee cups are always filled and the selection was fresh and expansive. They use seasonal veggies too which is wonderful. It can become a little crowded but the ambience is great for a Sunday Brunch.

Wonderful evening entertaining our mum who is getting up there in years & family member visiting from USA. We had an excellent view of the water falling. The waiter's wine pick was excellent. He really paid close attention to our mum and made sure that she had a memorable evening.

Disappointing compared with last year. Last time we were given complimentary items to try . there was no apple butter provided. Since we were celebrating birthdays no usual treat came. Will have to go elsewhere next year.

Food was nice. Not served hot, just warm, from the soup to the main course. I prefer my food served on warmed plates and hot. Presentation of all courses was well done. The atmosphere and scenery were beautiful. Really a lovely place to dine for a special occasion as it is expensive. Wait staff are well trained, however, our food was given to the wrong guest several times.

The Ancaster Mill's setting is beautiful, with a cascading waterfall that flows into a picturesque creek. The building itself is a classic stone structure with wood beams inside, very elegant yet comfortable. We went for Sunday buffet brunch, and the food was fantastic. I've never seen so much food in one place, and it was constantly replenished. The service was excellent - very courteous and prompt (even though the brunch was self-serve). The only downside for me was the noise; it's a very popular place (deservedly so), and it was bustling for brunch, so it was very loud. I've been there for dinner in the past, and the noise is not an issue then. I very much recommend this place.

We treated my mom to brunch for her birthday and the Ancaster Mill didn't disappoint. From the valet parking, to our wonderful server Kyle and of course the vast selection of delicious food for brunch. It was delightful!

My first time at the Ancaster Mill and it was a great experience. The service and food were exceptional and the ambience with the falls and running water made for a very relaxing, and tremendously enjoyable lunch with my friend. If you have a special occasion, this is definitely the place to go.
Thanks Ancaster Mill

We went for a birthday date, and had a wonderful time. Our server was attentive but also gave us the right amount of space to enjoy ourselves without feeling pestered or rushed. The food was fantastic. As someone who does not enjoy mushrooms, I was more than a little concerned at the mushroom-themed menu, but everything tasted delicious. I'd definitely go back again sometime.

As a couple who were dining for the first time in a fine dining restaurant, we weren't sure what to expect. Our server was friendly and helpful with the menu and we both enjoyed our meals. The window views were lovely and staff were all very friendly.

Lovely decor, beautiful surroundings and view, and that's what it's all about. The service was attentive and thoughtful. The menu was quite limited and there was honestly nothing that jumped off the page as a "must-have" for any of us. What we ordered was fine, generally satisfactory but, again, no oohs and ahhs. I would go back for the atmosphere, the beautiful natural surroundings, the very good service, the drinks ... and would not rely on the food to make the experience. The rest makes it worthy of returning for.

We went for Sunday brunch. Food was great, service was great, ambiance was great.
The only issue was that as the walkways between the tables were narrow and as it was a full house there were traffic jams as you went to your table from the food area. However we had a great time and I highly recommend this brunch.

It was a special "mushroom" menu this evening. While I happen to love mushrooms, there should have been at least some non-mushroom offerings or at least some advance notice that every single dish would have mushrooms!
I had the duck (with mushrooms) and it was delicious. My daughter had the venison with large chewy stems of mushroom that was not a great addition to the venison.
The waiter was incredibly attentive and sweet.

We came for the very first time on Sunday evening. We looked up the menue on line and there was a good choice for picky teenagers but we did not know that you had a family style dinner on Sunday. As much as we loved it, it was not the bes for teenagers. It would have been nice to have a few more options. Otherwise we, thw adults loved everything that we ate .
