"The food was decent and the atmosphere decent, but the whole feel is still a little bit wacky... there's not a defined line or a lot of space between having a nice table versus being crammed near the bar. It should either be totally wacky or a little bit more chill but the two combined haven't worked in unison for both times I have been here so far."

"Don't tell Mama will probably not be around for long! We were a party of four for brunch - there was one other table of patrons. Down the street however, restaurants were filled with brunch customers. The food was actually quite good, but the portions were VERY small - especially for the inflated prices. My omelet came with a "side" of potatoes that amounted to the size of a mini-crabcake. The only bargain was the $2 mimosa! The bartender divided her time between the bar, singing with the pianist and serving the two inhabited tables. No other waitstaff was apparent except for a few busboys who were very helpful when one of our party received the wrong order."

"Our server/ bartender Darcy was lovely. The live music coming from the piano area was extremely sleepy (moon river) or sleepy versions of songs that could be more upbeat.
The food was not good and not presented well- especially for the price. the jidori chicken and waffles were tasteless and soggy. The breakfast burrito was average. None of the menu items came with a side, they were just thrown onto a plate. The bar menu was not available even though it was placed on every table.
probably wont come back here to eat again, but the $2 mimosas were strong and great for Sundays and their booths can really accommodate large groups."

"With $2 mimosas and live music (duh- piano bar) Don't Tell Mama is great for brunch and/or dinner. Healthy brunch options and a great soundtrack make this place a must!"

"Unfortunately not a good experience. I would have been better off following the advice of many on Yelp and not even going. I would rather not give a laundry list of all that was wrong but not a place that is worthy of being on Open Table...that would be the kindest comment I could make."

"It was their first brunch, so it seemed like they were still figuring out some of the details. The servers were attentive, but they forgot a few of our orders. When we first got there (we had a reservation for 8), they couldn't figure out how to seat us so that we would all fit into a table."

"Tuesday night was obviously not going to be a full on party night but when we arrived; 2 of us; there was a only another table of 4 and maybe 3 guys at the bar, so the place was lacking it atmosphere. However the guy on the piano continued to belt out over loud and not very well in tune show numbers that were totally inappropriate to the audience. The sound system was so loud even on a small table for two we had difficulty conversing. The waitress whilst friendly was obviously untrained, the food ok but expensive for size of portions and quality. Later a female member of staff took the mike - not much improvement. All in all a not very pleasant experience more like audition night at a stage school. The management need to try harder."

"I have NEVER given a Poor or BAD review on Open Table. I was a party of 5 last night. There were a total of 3 table of patron eating. I asked if I can substitute Yukon potatoes for massed potatoes and was told No Substations. One of my guests ordered scallops well, 4 scallops are more of an appetizer not an entrée. The 2 that had the chicken enjoyed it and my steak was very salty. There were bread and butter plates on the table but, the restaurant does not serve bread with your meal. Last but not lease the bartender that was singing with the piano player was literally BEGGING for tips. NO COOL."

"They really should not have opened while being understaffed--we waited almost 30 minutes before anyone even came up to our table. One of our group went to the bar himself to get our drinks--we were just about to leave when the food finally arrived--newbie, maybe we will give it another try--like the concept."

"We like the concept of music and dining at the same time. The food was fine, not ourstanding, but good. The music was wonderful. But, the music was way too loud for dining. Had they just turned the amp volume down by about one third, we could have enjoyed the music and talk to our friends and enjoyed our food at the same time. We asked about turning the volume down but got no response."

"Great people work there, everyone was so sweet. Nobody there is listening to the singers or musicians. It is deafeningly loud. In technical execution, our meals came out twenty minutes apart so one of us was eating while the other waited. They were very apologetic. Not the server fault. We were crammed at a little bar table after booking on opentable where remnant seating runs rampant. LA needs a place like this but patrons need to respect the talent. The restaurant still needs to work out some kinks. It was packed. No parking or valet, which is not good on the westside. Food was average but with the right talent, who cares."

"Had a reservation ... Upon arriving they said it would be just a few minutes and to please have a seat at the bar. At the bar it was at least 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. I asked if there was a list of specialty or suggested cocktails. I was told yes, but she didn't know where the list was and proceeded to qui me on the types of things I liked. Finally she stepped 5 feet away and got a list. Ended up waiting 45 mins for the reservation. Waited another hour and 15 mins for our food before we finally just left without eating."

"Went on a Thursday for the first time and the place looks nice and very open so you can have a view to the Piano anywhere in the restaurant almost. It is loud when the Piano is going and singing but guess that is the point of the place! I enjoyed it... We sat at the little 2 top tables that run the length of the place with bench on one side and chair on other (This was considered bar seating) The ONLY issue I had with it is a good portion of the place is "bar seating" and they won't serve the main menu in any of that area. While this is somewhat normal, I think the only way to get the table spending up is to have full menu otherwise not much for healthy eating or Gluten Free. Enjoyed it though and will go back just hoped to eat too."

"The food was excellent, wish they had takeout. The service was good, the women who served us were friendly and knowledgable. But the amplified music was unbearable, literally. They have to decide if they want to be a bar (loud music) or a restaurant (where a conversation is possible even with music). We will not return or recommend it to anyone."

"At last a neighborhood piano bar in West Hollywood! Nice place to have a few drinks and laugh at the festivities. The food was good and the service was excellent. We ate at 7pm so we were one of just a few tables seated at the time, but by 8pm it was packed. There's apparently no standing at the bar so unless there are open barstools, you'll have to hang at a bar table (but there were plenty of those) Since it was their opening weekend, they still have some adjustments to be made with the lighting for better ambiance. Loved the singing waitstaff and the "Razzmatazz Martini" was delicious. Funniest thing was that one of the piano players made every song sound like a Billy Joel song. I hope this place becomes a HUGE hit."

"You come to a piano bar for the music, which is a bit dated here. The popularity of Glee should signal that not every song should be 20-30+ years old. Also the sound level was too high to compensate for those on the patio; problem is those in the main room could not talk, and enjoy the meal which was overpriced (Entree, 1 Martini and shared app $92.00). Check out Cafe E'toile, Marix, Basix, and Taste for pricing and portion size."

"Wonderful restaurant/piano bar experience. Very energetic vibe, good food, and wonderful staff. The singers varied, some catering to a more theatre-crowd sensibility, others more suited for suburban, conventional venues. Overall, an exciting new prospect."
