"Our second visit to Monsoon was a mixed bag. The food was consistently delightful, fresh, well prepared and delicious. However, the service this time was not up to par at all. The waiter mumbled and we misheard his description of specials. My grilled mahi mahi special showed up as grilled shrimp. Then a few minutes later I was told the kitchen messed up and the special was a curried mahi mahi. It wasn't served until my wife was finished her main course. Also, my wife did not hear that her lamb chop was served with spinach. Though she does not like spinach she did like this dish.
OK, so it all was extremely delicious. But that does not excuse the unprofessional service. I am hoping it was just this one waiter. We'll go back one more try."

"My wife and I came here once before and came back this time with another couple. You have to love that it's a BYOB, and their food is just fantastic! Everything came out perfectly seasoned and at the right temperature, it wasn't forced in front of you right after appetizers, and the prices are fair. Love this place, best Indian food in NJ!"

"I haven't had Indian in 9 years. I don't know why I haven't! Monsoon is excellent. We started with a salad. That day's salad was a green sprout salad. I've never had anything like it before it was fantastic. I had the chicken tiki Marsala. The chicken was tender. But the star of the show was the tomato sauce. I could have eaten that all day over rice and naan. My wife got a seared vegetable plate where everything was coated with curry and then cooked on a hot plate kind of like fajitas. Fantastic. Another star was the onion bread. I got a second order to go so I could finish off the chicken and sauce. Really a great place. It's a bit upscale inside but the prices are down to earth. One thing they could use is an American kids menu."

"As this was the first time experience with Indian Cuisine, the food over all was good. However, if the palate is not accustomed to the flavors and spices, some of the dishes could be overwhelming. Tambor Chicken wsa very good, good flavors, sauce. The Seek kabobs could take someone with a more experienced palate to enjoy."

"I came to celebrate a special occasion and major part of dinner time was fabulous. Then, right next to where I sit (close to the kitchen area), they started taking care of cutlery (spoons/forks) and that exercise went on for 30 minutes and with continuous noise, I even got a headache. That noise literally killed all the romantic/pleasant mood we have been until then as it over poured the conversation and the restaurant's music. I will definitely go back but I will make sure to ask for a place far from the kitchen area."

"We were a table for 3 who hadn't seen each other in quite some time. We were not rushed and the food was phenomenal! We had incredible service and have already made plans to make it a monthly tradition at Monsoon! We had a wonderful time! I would recommend! We sampled Paneer as an appetizer. Lamb Vindaloo, Navarantan Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and 2 different kinds of Naan for our main course. We also tried the Indian rice pudding and gulup jamon (my fave) for dessert! It was bar none the best Indian food I've experience we've ever had!"

"I think they've changed their chef since the last time we were there. Food was very disappointing with very little flavor. My husband's vindaloo barely had any heat to it, my chicken korma was very bland and our son's chicken dish had no hint of spicing at all. Unfortunately we will not be going back to Monsoon."
