Through hard work and dedication over the years, Executive Chef Alex A. Daku has experienced all facets of life in the professional kitchen. The man now at the helm of the Amici as an executive chef and owner has been bringing quality Italian food for nearly a decade. His menus extend beyond the territories of traditional cuisine and incorporate continental influences to appeal to the tastes of a broader reception.
"First time eating at Amici since it opened. It was a pleasant surprise. The cost for my wife and I was surpringly reasonable for the quality of the food. The menu does not overwhelm you with too many choices but there is sufficient variety of choices so that there is something for anyone's palate. Chicken, Veal, Pasta, steak - there all there. Great salads and appetizers. Its a BYO so that helps to keep the costs down. Loved the Veal Milanese and my wife loved the Chiicken parm. Service was really good. Very attentive."

"Had an extremely nice dinner at Amici Ristorante. The service was great to include our server who was both personable and knowledgeable. The wine list is off the charts and the food was awesome. Definitely will be back. Great place!"

"Visited on Saturday night. It was busy and initially we had 3 different people ask us the same questions. Finally a female waitress asked us the questions and finally delivered our drinks and took our order. The biggest disappointment was the gnocchi your way. My husband was very excited about this option however it wasn't available. They had gnocchi with spinach and ricotta. He couldn't have it his way and recommends taking that off your menu. The salads were good. The veal in my entree was very tough and my husband's fettuccine with crab and shrimp was fair. We thought this place's Italian food was going to knock our socks off but it fell short. We wouldn't return."

"This was our first visit. The food was very tasty, althoguh my chicken was a little tough. Service was very friendly, but our waiter was very busy and didnt have a lot of time to spare. He didnt check on us durign our meal and when we needed something we had to get another staff person to help out. However, overall it was a good meal, fairly priced, nice size servings, nice ambience, and we would defintely go back again."

"Overall, a "3". Very poor service. Too many tables squished together. Very noisy. So so food. Nothing special here, especially when you can get a Saturday night reservation a 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon."

"Just keeps getting better! Food (selection, portions, prompt) was excellent, service (very attentive, quick) was excellent. Previous visits were great and my Girlfriend wanted to go again for her birthday....and loved it again! BYOB and restaurant week is just icing on the cake. "Went to Amici's for Restaurant Week. The four course meal for $25 was a tremendous value. All the courses for our table of five were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
While dining, it occured to me that several other restaurants at this location have failed. From the dinner crowd, it seems that Amici's has found a home in Cherry Hill. We have dined at Amici's several times, and all the meals were great and the service excellent. I'm really hoping that Amici's is around for a long time to come. We will definitely return over and over."

"During Restaurant week, one may not expect that the service and meal would be flawless at your typical restaurant. Well that was not the case at Amici. It was, from start to finish, flawless. A superior meal with every course. Despite a busy Friday at around 7 PM, even as the floor became packed with customers the staff handled it all beautifully and the kitchen knocked out some top notch dishes. The rolled eggplant appetizer - that alone is worth coming back for. The Amici salad, with pear and olive - balanced wonderfully. The wait service, mostly Italian gents, all were teaming up helping each other so there was no chance for any guest to be left in need. If any of the crew saw a need, they acted. All in all, just a fab place."

"We visited Amici for the Restaurant Week promotion and will be back soon. The beet salad was cool and refreshing with tangy goat cheese. The clam chowder was a tad spicy for our party, but flavorful to others. The highlight of the early courses was definitely the snails...a large serving in a tasty sauce begging to be mopped up with the crusty whole grain bread. All of the entrees we tasted were delicious...lobster ravioli, a large serving of chicken with seafood and sliced duck breast with a tasty orange sauce. Service was attentive and the waiter was spot on with his recommendations for dessert of Tartuffo a chocolate covered Italian ice cream, and homemade Key lime pie. A BYOB...so,don't forget the wine ..."

"This BYOB Italian restaurant is a moderately priced gem. Portion sizes work for those diet conscious diners. The menu choices are diverse and allow for meat eaters as well as vegans to enjoy a good meal. The beet salad was flavorful and the lobster ravioli was delicious. Homemade desserts especially the key lime pie was heavenly. Amici Ristorante has a very professional staff and attentive your needs."

"Well I looked at the previous reviews before and saw all the wait time problems. I would have to say they've seen the reviews as well since they were very worried about wait times and even though we only waited 5 minutes tops to sit, they said "We're so sorry for your wait" about 5 times. We were in and out in an hour so I saw no problems with their food. The bread was unbelievable, but that's about where it ended. Me and my boyfriend got two different chicken meals... came out looking exactly the same with the same sauce, because we tried each others. The only difference was that mine had crab meat and shrimp on it. There was nothing specifically bad about it... but there was nothing to write home about either."

"Ate at this restaurant for the first time last weekend (Saturday). It was recommended by a friend. The place was hopping, so I am glad we had a reservation. Waited only 10 minutes for our table of 6 people. The restaurant was extremely noisy. The service was good and our server was very accommodating. The food however, was a true disapointment. My caesar salad was bland and the chicken piccata had too many capers and very little lemon taste. The fried calamari was cold and so chewy it could not be eaten. Kudos to our server who replaced our order with a fresh and hot platter. My husband ordered the Bronzini..he was not impressed. My side dish of pasta was good and the muscles in red sauce was also delicious."

"A new neighborhood gem.The last thing S.Jersey needs is another Italian restaurant. We took our 2 grandchildren there on a Sunday evening and I was most impressed with the food, service, and prices. Two of us ordered the linguine with a variety of seafood, that included mussels, clams shrimp, and calamari. The seafood was plentiful and the sauce and pasta were excellent.Someone else at the table had salmon and pasta and the teenager who ordered that cleaned her plate.Another adult ordered ravioli and funghi(wild mushrooms) and it was also delicious.Everything had wonderful flavors. The bread was excellent also. Can't comment on the desert tray because we didn't order any."

"New York Strip Steak was excellent-one of the specials for the night. Service is always attentive. Prices are not inflated due to being a BYOB. Lots of parking in the back. Make reservation on the weekend, we live down the street usually dine weekdays. Good for large groups as well. Have observed the service for large groups-very attentive."

"Unfortunately we ordered the lobster. It came with a large mound of black spaghetti in the center and a red sauce over every thing including the split lobster. It was a mess to eat and the flavor of the lobster was overwhelmed by the tomato sauce. Fortunately my wife took home her two claws and after washing off the tomato sauce we enjoyed them the next day."

"I had a 7:30 reservation and arrived on time. They did not have a table for me and said it would be 10-15 minutes, possibly more. I said they must have over booked, as there were many other people waiting for tables. She said there was nothing she could do, so I asked for the manager who did somehow manage to find me a table after a few minutes. The restaurant was very noisy and crowded. Our appetizers arrived quickly, but it then took a very long time for the main courses to arrive. I would never go back here on a Saturday night as they do not seem to be able to handle the amount of patrons they try to serve."

"Our 7:45 reservation got us seated at 8:45. Why take a reservation if you aren't going to honor it? We did order and get salads very quickly, but the main courses were about a 1 hour wait. Food was good, but we didn't get our main courses until 10 pm. Kind of crazy. If the kitchen can't keep up why not seat few people and seat them on time? The restaurant seemed just overwhelmed in every way, but the waiters were very nice."

"I don 't understand why this place is always booked. The lemon salad dressing was weird on my arugula salad . The best was th chicken vegetable soup. My daughter had the whole wheat veggies pasta dish. It was oily. My husband had the onion soup. It had too much wine. Funny taste. He also had the lobster special. Covered In gloppy marinara sauce. I had the flounder with crabmeat the flounder was mushy. Not going back"
