Le Grenier - attic, in English - is a space to enjoy French Cuisine with a great wine selection or craft cocktail in a vintage attic décor, a cozy atmosphere with intimate ambiance on the vibrant H corridor. Chef Thierry Sanchez offered a menu of French dishes with frequent changes that reflect the seasons.
"We tried this place last night getting a last minute reservation. WE were delighted to get in and were pleased with the menu and the wine list. We both had fish and both enjoyed the presentation and taste. I will be returning!!"

"Contrary to many of the other reviews, we found the food to be average at best. Plus, service on a Saturday night was slow. It took 50 minutes for our main plates to arrive. Everyone was pleasant but in no hurry to serve. Just not worth the $80 per person we spent."

"I went to brunch here with a friend who was about to leave town for grad school. We made a reservation but since we were 30 minutes late (traffic!), our table had been taken. No worries! there was seating on the patio! Our waiter was French (with a thick accent and a black and white striped shirt to boot). We ordered the brunch special for $18. My friend ordered the pear and walnut soup (amazing) and eggs benedict. I ordered the omelet (full of gooey swiss cheese) and a nutella crepe that was to die for. The bread and butter were superb. The interior is beautiful! A combo of classic and modern day French decor. This place is a great spot for a romantic brunch or get together with a good friend!"

"I've been here several times and I am always pleased. It's a great place for either a romantic dinner for 2, or, a nice occasion with a small group of friends. The menu is traditional, and, I would consider this very "good value" for the price."

"Le Grenier is authentic French in every way. The drinks, the food, and even the decor reminded me of my recent trip to southern France. My favorite part of the night was the crepe I had for desert which was delicious. My dinner experience was so great that I can't stop talking about it even a few days later and keep telling friends that it is a must try in DC and especially in the H Street neighborhood."

"This place is adorable. The staff is super friendly. My friend and I genuinely had a great time there enjoying wine and a charturie platter. We can't wait to bring another of our friends back for brunch or an after-work gaggle.
By the way, I am from Louisiana and went to boarding school in the UK and France, so I am really picky about wine and french cuisine. Y'all did good!"

"This new little gem in the H Street corridor is terrific. The decor is very creative and the food is excellent. It is a bit of a walk from the Atlas Theater (5th to 13th St.), but worth it."

"While the appetizers and desserts were great, I wasn't too impressed by my entree (steak frites, which is pretty basic). Also, the menu isn't too expansive (desserts were pretty much ice cream or crepes). Service was alright, though we were left alone for quite awhile. Also, our server, after taking our bill and credit cards informed us that he could only take four credit cards at a time (we were a large group, asked for the bill to be split evenly among seven cards), which would've been good to know ahead of time."

"Food was great, but the poor service really put a damper on the evening. Waited about 15 minutes from the time we sat down until the waiter came by. Entrees took forever to get there. After dinner, no waiter or staff came by for about 20 minutes. Finally waived down the manager who got the waiter to bring the check. We skipped dessert (after hearing great things about their crepes) due to the poor service and despite the fact it was my wife's birthday."

"Food was excellent. Was there on a very busy night of course (Valentine's night) so bustling atmosphere was to be expected. However, was a bit surprised that the music in background was nowhere near romantic- was actually high tempo. Will definitely return"

"Love this place. Le Grenier's quickly become a regular dinner and brunch spot for us because of it's great food and good prices. The brunch menu has a app and main or main and dessert option that includes a mimosa or glass of champagne. The choices are all solid and don't seem to be smaller than their normal offerings. Love the pate maison and their savory crepes. We also look forward to their french onion soup. Definitely a solid date night choice."

"The waitress/hostess that greeted us was very unprofessional and unwelcoming; we asked if we could have a drink at the bar first before being seated, she said something along the lines of "for just five or ten minutes". Hmmm, an odd start. The bartender, on the other hand, was SO welcoming, profess all, and her recommendations were spot on. We will try again, but plan to go back and dine at the bar. Timing on delivery of courses was off, and we ended up missing the middle course. Too bad."
