"An outstanding menu, excellent value, authentic Italian dishes prepared correctly, not Americanized. All ingredients were extremely fresh, and many of the dishes were prepared tableside, to our guests delight. We also had guests with special dietary needs (vegan); the chef presented a wonderful menu tailored just for them. The food is clean, simple, Italian fare - true Italian food - not ItaloAmerican style you find at the big chains. The wine list is excellent and well edited, We were a large party of ten and everyone was made to feel welcome. The service was impeccable and very flexible when we received extra guests than were expected: No problemo. Overall an excellent experience. I will be returning soon, as will many of the guests."

"We were in SLC from St. Louis to run in the half marathon. We needed a good carbo loading meal - which is exactly what we got. Incredible food that was so flavorful and fresh. But what really made this meal special was our service by Abigail. She was attentive, a joy to talk to and had perfect recommendations for our meal. She suggested that I try two half orders of the gnocchi so that I could experience them both and it was the perfect recommendation. They were both so delicious. We will definitely be back when we return to Salt Lake City! We would also like to commend Caleb who assisted Abigail as his level of service exceeded our expectations too."

"I have visited Cucina Toscana on numerous occasions and have always had impeccable service. However, my recent visit left much to be desired. Service was extremely slow, as we waited nearly 10 minutes for a waiter to ask us for our beverage selection. We hadn't quite decided, so the waiter gave us more time. Another 10 minutes passed before a different waitress came to take our order. The waitress recommended a wine which was excellent and our salads and appetizers arrived within an acceptable timeframe. Two meals were delivered as expected, however the third dish was late in coming. The waitress apologized and said the cooks had "destroyed" the first one. Apparently not many people order the La Cotoletta Alla Torinese."

"My wife and I love this place - Each time we dine here is like going back to Italy. The service is beyond excellent, and really sets the mark for others to attain. The Fennel Crusted Duck is fantastic, and pehaps most notable is that they prepared my wife's favorite dish even though it was not on the menu. (Asparagus Risotto) The wine list, while not the largest in the city, is appropriately matched for the menu, and the bar service was better than most, (with a bar tender who appreciates the quality and distinctiveness of Lagavulin Scotch (Islay). We will continue to return here."

"Has all the makings of a high end dining experience, but fell short in important areas. We had wine and bread on the table, but still no menus. Wines were ordered but not available. Manager was over-attentive, wanting to "chat". Beef medallions featured "ethical" foie gras which was nothing but a slab of flimsy pate ruining an otherwise decent piece of meat. This place wants to be great, but seems to lack management and leadership."

"Obviously, this place is pricey. But its worth it. The variety of the foods makes each visit here like a new trip each time. The only item that suffered on our order was the salad. Very dry and not much more than leafs and pine nuts. Stick to the Ceaser.
You can't miss on an entree', as all are well prepared. We had the "World's Best Spaghetti" and the Gnoicchi.
Lastly, do not skip the Gellato. Don't. Just order it, let them pick a sampler for you, and Enjoy. Their pisatchio gelatto was Amazing. I've never had anything like it."

"The experience was awesome! We walked in at about 6:55 PM with a 7:15 PM reservation, expecting to have a little wait time but we were seated immediately (love when you make a reservation & it means something). The greeter, seater & our waitress were very professional & polite, as well as, the young man who kept our table clean in between courses.
The food was great, we started with the complimentary bruschetta and we ordered a kind of seafood sampler and for the entree, the bass special for the evening came highly recommended by our waitress, Elizabeth and it sounded so good that each one of us (party of 3) decided to go with it and oh my goodness, it was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better dish.
Definitely recommended!"

"Cucina Toscana is described in a local tourism magazine as "legendary." If it has been serving this quality of food for long then the description is apt. If you want a truly authentic Italian dining experience, you are not likely to do better than CT. The staff were interested and attentive. Elizabeth knew the menu and the wine list both. Her suggestions for service were perfect: salad, antipasti, pasta trio of daily specials, and an entree of choice from the menu. All were tasty and simple, just what cucina Italia should be. Family style desserts rounded out a perfect supper. Did I mention we were a group of 12? That they handled us flawlessly is another measure of CT's competence. But this all comes at a cost ($$$). Be prepared."

"It was good but has gone downhill a bit since Valter left. Waiter was much less knowledgeable than they have been in the past about the menu and Italian food and wine in general. Some dishes were great and others were mediocre and disappointing. I got a lobster ravioli. The pasta itself was great as usual but the sauce was very lemon saturated and overwhelmed the great pasta."

"Took my girlfriend here for her birthday having been several times over the years, and always having enjoyed it. She had never had veal before, so she ordered the veal covered in a multi-cheese sauce (which happened to be the most expensive thing on the menu). I'm a veal fan myself so I ordered it as well. The dish was terrible! It taste like a chicken fried steak you would get at Denny's. My girlfriend didn't even finish hers as she didn't see the point of eating such a fatty dish if it wasn't even particularly tasty. Definitely not a dish that should cost $46, or that a restaurant of Cucina's reputation should be serving.
However, the service was great. And the bruschetta and biscotti for dessert were fantastic."

"This was our third visit to Cucina Toscana. As usual, the food was excellent. The service is usually top shelf, but this time it took nearly twenty minutes for our server to arrive. She took very good care of us from afterward. Besides a noticeably sloping table, the ambienc was beautiful and relaxing. Highly recommend."

"Recently, I was put in charge of finding somewhere special for a business dinner- our colleagues are from back east, what in the world could I find that would impress such worldy travelers in Salt Lake City? I remembered someone mentioning Cucina Toscana as an excellent place for client dinners in the past so I did a little research and we decided to give it a try. We had one of the first reservations for the evening, so when we got there, it was pretty empty, I was a little nervous, but that was short lived.The service was excellent we had the Tuscan style dining experience- a good option for first time guests. The food was absolutely delicious, we never found our glasses empty and our east coasters raved about how wonderful it was."

"The staff was extremely accommodating in finding us a table in low lighting and away from drafts. Overall, the food and service was great. I really enjoyed the duck.
However, the waiter didn't seem as familiar with the menu and wines as would be expected and there were two small issues with the food.
The Caesar salad was over-salty and the dressing didn't seem to be the typical creamy dressing, but more of a salty oily dressing that overpowered the dish. The veal was good, but they put too much truffle oil in it.
We've eaten here before and will again, but the above issues did dampen the experience somewhat."

"Went on Valentine's Day for the price fix menu - MISTAKE. Not much to choose from - Salmon, lamb shank, gnocchi w/ pork...I've seen better price fix menus. This place was a little disappointing, to say the least. Maybe I will try again with the normal menu. Plus, for Valentine's Day at 9:15 at night, this place was REALLY LOUD."

"I've been a regular customer and fan of Cucina Toscana but it has gone off after its recent renovation and staff changes. My experience last week lacked the buzz, ceremony (no table side cooking) and energy of the past, the meal was only OK (gorgonzola gnochi did not taste of gorgonzola) vs distinctive and a highlight in the past. This not how the restaurant is positioned or priced. The rennovation has also seen the photos and impact of the matre'd removed which makes the restaurant less interesting and with much less distinctive ambience. I sat with my back to an outside window and was chilly all evening. And for the first time in all mny years, it was not full."

"Expo kitchen counter was filled with plastic bottles and metal containers. Looked trashy. Our server ( who I really did like) was better suited to a trendy place she was too familiar with us. $130 bucks and The food was just ok? Presentation was lacking. Cooks in expo kitchen didn't seem like pros. The desserts were amazing though."

"Food was good as usual but a bit expensive. The noise level is horrible. I was sitting with a group and could not hear the person 2 people down from me. Valet said we could not park in the lot without using him to park the car. What is with that??? There were open spaces. Service was wonderful but took a long while to get food."

"The service at Cucina Toscana remains some of the very best in Salt Lake. As I'm writing this I really can't think of any restaurant that has better in Utah. The food used to be great, but overtime like many places it seems to have taken a turn into blandness. Perhaps thats intentional, I don't know maybe because of customer feedback? I've heard rumors of a shakeup in the BOH. Case in point, I ordered the "menu tour" along with my wife. A dish that illustrate this is bouillabaisse type dish that came with an assortment of lobster, mussels and shrimp. The broth tasted like someone dipped a cut tomato into hot water and the seafood was well overcooked. In any case, it still is a great place to go to have a ok meal with great service."
