"I loved eating here since the food was out of this world. I highly recommend the guacamole. However, the music was excessive. It was Cinco de Mayo, so I expected a party atmosphere, but the music was at least 10-20 dB higher than I would expect in a club."

"We thought we'd like to celebrate Cinco de Mayo-that was a real mistake. Had requested a quiet table-a joke! But the worst part was the lobster quesedilla. You would still be searching for the lobster. There was a VERY small amount of anything between the two pieces of tortilla. For $10.95 I would have expected at least something to eat. We only wanted an appetizer, so it was really disappointing, The margarita was delicioux, but both the very late afternoon atmosphere and attention to the tables were poor."

"We were pleased when this place first opened, because we knew those involved in its creation and operations have an intense focus on quality of everyhting that happens at a great dining establishment.
We left the "Noise Level" rating at "Moderate" only because it depends on if the place is buzzing with activity with live entertainment.
If you enjoy exceptional food and service, this place is for you. Bring your friends, too. They'll thank you later."

"Excellent restaurant. Not your typical Mexican food. Very good food and service. Staff were all very friendly. The guacamole is to die for! The margaritas are tasty and not light on the tequila. I was with 5 other people and all raved about the food. They were all first timers, I was back for the 2nd time. I will go back again and again."

"The frozen margaritas were the highlight of our meal and the presentation of the meal great as well. The restaurant has only been open 4 months, and the taste of the food needs lots of work. My steak quesadillas were in edible - tough, odd taste and it was the special that night. The churros were really hot, but I would have liked a lighter texture. The manager was great, personable, and responsive. I was not charged for the entree and was offered dessert dessert on the house. May try back after it has been open a while."

"Our group of 4 had a great evening at Mesa! The margaritas were fantastic as was the guacamole! Though the menu is a bit small, there were several items we wanted to try. The addition of the nightly specials made the main course decision even tougher. Our only small complaint was that we had the table at very front of the restaurant directly underneath the music speaker. We had to ask the waitress to turn the music down so we could hear each other speak. She did and we stayed for a second pitcher of margaritas. Great experience! We will be going back"

"Tried this place for the first time before a show at the State Theatre. The service was very good. The margaritas and the guacamole were excellent. Three of us tried the mahi mahi tacos which were also very good, although the portions were fairly small - might niot have been enough had we not had the guacamole beforehand. My husband tried the lobster quesadilla and although he enjoyed it, he said he didn't see or taste much lobster in it. Overall a good experience and we will try it again."

"As soon as we walked in, we knew we had found a special place. The bar is well laid-out and is very well suited for meeting friends or stopping in for a drink. The decor is very well done. This is not a typical Mexican restaurant with the usual ambiance and offerings. It is upscale at a reasonable price. My wife's margarita was superb while the specialty drink I ordered - vodka, cranberry and cayenne - was excellent (not sweet and with a very nice kick). I had ceviche for an appetizer - very good - and my wife's salmon was unique and also very good. My vegetarian meal was also good and very filling. We split the flan for dessert and were not disappointed. Total for the night was $80 without tip. We will be back with friends!"

"We went there for my son's 31st birthday and the staff made it a special night. The food was outstanding the bar service needed to pick up speed, the owner was there and made sure everyone there was taken care of. Would recommend Mesa to everyone."

"Unfortunately, yet another disappointing Mexican food experience in the Lehigh Valley. They feature 8 different margaritas however all are made from a mix rather than made with fresh limes. The salsa was made with canned tomatoes rather than fresh--so pass on this and order the guacamole which was salty, but better and mixed at the table. The ambiance is the best thing about this restaurant."

"Mesa came highly recommended to me and I had a wonderful time. The wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. When our entrees were late in arriving, the waitress very politely informed us that the guacamole would be on the house -- which I thought was very gracious of Mesa. The food itself was the best Mexican cuisine I've had, and the reasonable portions and great ambience definitely added a lot to my dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends."

"The food was wonderful but the portions were TINY for the price! I felt the food was more Spanish style then Mexican. Service was ok, we had quite a big group and it was busy so I put that into perspective. I also think that since our server was already getting gratuity added into the check he was a little more lax. Great pomegranate margarita! I would go back if it was convienent for a friend but I wouldn't choose to go back, we all left still hungry and spent about $80 a couple!"

This is not Americanized Mexican fare! Table side Guacamole preparation was novel, and the flavor was Excellent. The complimentary chips and salsa was quite tasty, very clean flavors. We had 4 different entrees. Each of us was delighted with our meal. I had Salmon and Spinach enchilada from the regular menu.~~ I was a hesitant to order seafood at a mexican restaurant...boy was I wrong. Yumo! The fish taco entree portion was on the smaller side. The wait staff was friendly. It would have been helpful if she described the selections more. My biggest hesitation to give this restaurant rave reviews is once the word gets out it will be hard to get a reservation!!"

"We had a very enjoyable dinner at la Mesa. I would only request that when they serve the dip in the beginning, which is a lovely touch by the way, they serve you small plates to eat it on. It is rather watery and drips. Also we charged a dessert and had to ask for small plates again and they were wet because she couldn't find a towel to dry them. Other than that everything was absolutely fantastic. These were very small complaints and more a matter if organization. Everything was wonderful."

"This was my second visit to Mesa. My first visit last month was wonderful in terms of both food and service. This time was very different. I had the guacamole again, which is out of this world. However, my lobster quesadilla tasted very fishy for some reason. My husband ordered a pork taco and got a pork tenderloin. Our waitress was a nice young girl but she was completely incompetent. She called us "you guys", could not answer questions about the wines or beers and then brought the wrong food to my husband. She offered to make it right but that would have taken another 20 minutes so we just accepted it. She did not tell us about the specials and tried to give us our check before offering dessert and coffee."

"So glad we finally got a Mexican restaurant that does not fill your plate with gross refried beans & yellow rice covered in gooey cheese and raw onion! The food was delicious, health-conscious and combined ingredients that you wouldn't think of (strawberry/jalapeño margarita, fish tacos/mango, etc.) The guacamole was to die for!!! It was made fresh at the table and was devoured in seconds with the delicious chips they served with it. The portion sizes were not huge, but great for sharing and we didn't leave feeling stuffed and bloated. We will definitely be back!"

"We were from out of town to see a show at the State Theater. We found the Mesa via the Theater web page directory, and were inticed by the website. The place is clean, modern, and sheek, modestly and tastefully decorated. The staff is extemely friendly and helpful, and our every need was attended. The food was nothing short of magnificent, lots of lively flavor. I enjoyed the red snapper in sherry, and the mexican corn on the cob, had a rich creamy kick with a cayenne splash. My friends raved about the Grapefruit, Avacado and Beet Salad, as well as the seared shrimp and scallops over lobster ravioli. This place is a cut above and somehow simple yet brilliant! "Sorry,but i tried for weeks to get into the restaurant and i was disappointed once i sat down.
We search the menu and found how over price for the food you get.We ended up getting apps instead.
The service was not good at all. Also it was not easy to find a parking place.

"The chips brought to the table were tasty and crisp. The salsa(?) served with them was full of flavor but was on the watery side which I really wouldn't have had a problem with if we were each given a small plate so I didn't have to use my hand to catch the juice falling off the chip before I got it from the bowl of salsa to my mouth. My quesadilla appetizer was very tasty but I would've enjoyed it more if it had not been served along with my main entree . Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the food but......."

"We really enjoyed Mesa. They had an excellent fixed price menu for Valentine's Day. Loved the stuffed red pepper and the delicious ginger margarita. My husband had the red snapper, which was also excellent. A fresh twist on Mexican food. I can't wait to go back and try one of the guacamoles. We really liked the romantic atmosphere in the room in the back, which was separated from the noisier bar area."

"I've been there twice and the food at Mesa Mexican has been beyond amazing. The seared shrimp and scallops on lobster ravioli, the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and the seared salmon empanades are all the most heavenly dishes. I couldn't ask for better. The owners of this restaurant also own Tappas on Main in Bethlehem, PA. Also equally wonderful. The food was so great, my company is now using Mesa for it's large group training dinners. The food is a bit pricey, but that is because it is that good. They can certainly charge higher prices for such high quality food. Out for a girls night? Make sure to order the "I Love You" margarita by the pitcher."

"A group of women decided to try Mesa before going to a show. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was not over spicy, but just spicy enough and our waiter explained that we could order it with the heat turned up if we wanted to. The ambience was wonderful, warm and inviting. Our only complaint was that the dim lighting made us all pull out our reading glasses to see the menu. Ha ha
The food was excellent and not your typical Mexican fare. You must try the shrimp & scallop ravioli and the flank steak. Both were amazingly delectable! Our waiter was great and very accommodating to all our needs. His recommendations for both food and drinks were right on the money.
