"This was my second time to visit in a week. The food is truly excellent - creative upscale Southern. The service can be a bit slow, as it seems each waiter has a lot of tables. However, the waiters are friendly and hard working. I really like the energy in the restaurant."

"While M's setting is aesthetically very pleasing, the food left a lot to be desired. My husband and I went there for brunch this past Mother's Day. The fried green tomatoes were fantastic, but perhaps a little lost in the siracha pimento cheese spread. I had the "deconstructed" crab and avocado salad. It was small but tasty. As a side note, it was fully constructed. I was hoping for a Parisian style deconstructed salad "composée" but instead the crab, avocado, and ruby red grapefruit sections were all mixed together and moulded in a 1 cup measure before plated. Ho hum. My husband ordered the ham and biscuits. They came cold, with cold ham. Who serves cold buttermilk biscuits for brunch? Outrageously, this took over an hour to get served."

"My wife and I went there for our anniversary. The food and service were great, and we really enjoyed the cozy and quiet atmosphere. The paella was awesome and my wife really enjoyed the chicken with gnocchi. A great place for a romantic dinner or a quite night out with friends."

"The space is odd...small and tightly packed. I think this would be a good place to come for a bite to eat at the largish bar. I would not come back for a seated meal. Our food was fine: good burger. Salmon was nice, but on overly creamy noodles. Not the light feel I was hoping for. I am over servers dressed a plaid hipsters. They seemed too casual, in jeans and untucked. Website said there was valet parking. There was not."

"The tables are set with starched linen, and the open kitchen shows each dish prepared precisely and carefully. The service was attentive, the food was well timed and delicious. Special adjustments to the menu items were no problem for someone with food allergies and the waiter Blake was extremely knowledgeable about every item. A restaurant employee happened to be available to take us to the Grand Ole Opry (20 minute drive) and because he had time that night, even picked us up and brought us back to our hotel! Amazing! They have a great relationship with the Union Station Hotel next door."

"4 of us for dinner. I had the seafood special - seared halibut over bread pudding. Wierd? Yes. Delicious? Oh yeah. Expensive? yes, but worth it. The rest of our party liked their meals as well - steak and shrimp and grits. Our server was great. I recommend the M. Go to the Frist, enjoy some art, and go eat the M."

"Waiter DID NOT know items on the brunch menu. We had a couple of easy questions about ingredients that were mentioned in the descriptions that absolutely threw him for a loop. Lucky my table was filled with savvy diners and were pleased with the choices we made without his help."

"Very accommodating. Called day before to add one to reservation of 7 with no problem. Requested additions to menu selections were handled easily. While no children's menu the had appetizers that worked well for them. I've already recommended M to several. Although I had enjoyed a lunch there previously none of the others in our group had dined there or was even aware of it. While I understand, but don't necessarily like, they automatically add the gratuity for a larger party. They do so with 6 or more."

"I was excited to try this restaurant as the menu looked pretty good, but due to their complete lack of service I did not even hang around to try the food. I was seated by the hostist then sat there observing staff speaking to each other but not concerned with the tables. Then a gentleman came to the table and I thought good here is our server but no he was just there to put some water in our glasses and did not even speak to us...no hello no can I get you a drink nothing. I then caught the hostist passing by and told her we still haven't seen a server. She apologized and said she should get someone. She spoke with a man who appeared to be a manger he just kind of shruged and another 5 min went by with no one. At this point I left."

"M was great. We did not use it but they have a complimentary shuttle to pick up and drop off. The food was great. We went ins Sunday when they limit the dinner menu. We did not feel like we missed out. Chef came out and chatted. Great food fried green tomatoes were great, the salmon was great. The kale salad was very good. We will go when we go back to Nashville."

"Food and atmosphere were great. We enjoyed having dinner at M and have already recommended it to several friends. Intimate setting with lots of character to the menu. Fried green tomato appetizer, rock fish entree and the braised pork short rib - all of it tasted great and it's always great when your food comes out the right temp -- hot.
Don't leave without having the peach cobbler for dessert - definitely worth every bite! We plan on returning very soon to try some of the other menu items. M is a real bonus for Cummins Station."

"Breat bar, I ordered the Crab cake appitizer. very good. I ordered the Shrimp & grits for the entree Very few shrimp and i had to hunt the sausage. It was in tiny cunks. It would have been much better in thin slices. Not much at all in there.Flavor was good , Tails on shrimp not good when mixed and burried in the sauce."

"Loved the seating! So comfortable, the service was great and the parking was free right across the street from the entrance! My entree was excellent, I got the special, on the other hand, my husband got the 2 little pigs and was disappointed. He said one, out of three cuts of meat, was good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their entree. The Kale salad was a little tough, not chopped as small as the one at Kayne Prime! Over all very good and we WILL go back again....."

"We had the crawfish toast, which was delightful and when the bowl of crawfish exceeded the amount of toast, our server appeared with extra slices. The scallops were nicely prepared and I cut my beef tenderloin with a butter knife. We would have gone for the warm cookies and ice cream, but couldn't make room!"

"I chose M Restaurant for my girls night on the town because of its free valet parking and its free shuttle to other downtown locations. The management team made every effort to make sure my friends and I got to our downtown locations (and picked up) right when we needed to be. Our dinner was excellent and the service was even better. During the course of our visit we were greeted by both the owner and the operations manager and the Chef asked how our food was. The owner was open to constructive criticism and was very hospitable."

"Amazing food at M! We utilized the bar seating, and enjoyed our view into the kitchen (was cool to watch chefs at work and to see the food coming out). We opted for the Fried Green Tomato app, the Kale Salad (split), the Scallop and Spare Rib entrees, the coconut dessert and a bottle of Willamette Pinot wine. All were delicious and beautifully prepared. Comparing to Etch and The Southern (two other new restaurants in close proximity that I frequent), I preferred the food and menu at M. The restaurant still seems to be working out some kinks but that can often be expected from a new restaurant. If you are going with a group, they do have a private dining room that seats roughly 15-18 which works great for a group outing or special occasion."

"This was my 2nd visit to M. I was very excited about going because my first experience was fantastic. The food and ambiance on my first visit was wonderful which I was thankful for because we were celebrating a friend's birthday. My 2nd visit however was not the same experience. It seems that they have too many tables crowded in a smaller space. The staff of the restaurant must have bumped into my chair a dozen times which is incredibly distracting while you're trying to enjoy the company of your guest(s) and have a good meal. The food was mediocre this time around. Between a mediocre meal and the distraction of getting bumped into every few minutes this would not be my first recommendation."

"If you are a party of 2 avoid this restaurant. They have only 5 "for 2 " tables all placed in high wait staff traffic proximity. The host placed us at a "2" table right next to the kitchen. There were 8 tables for 4 open so we requested one of those tables. The host told us that they were all "reserved". The restaurant is small so I could view all of the tables. During the 90 minutes we were there at least 6 tables for 4 were open at all times. So I am forced to draw the conclusion that the host lied to us about the reservation list. I also noticed that when all the tables for 2 were filled in the restaurant he forced "2" parties to sit at the bar. The food was not as described in menu and not hot. We will never return."

"Second time at M; my date was having heartburn issues from a wine tasting event earlier that day. Our waiter provided the apple cider vinegar cure & she felt better immediately. I ordered the salmon & it was delicious. You can enjoy the food at M & know that your waiter may be able to provide a cure for what ails you! We had tickets for an event that night at TPAC. M provides a shuttle service to TPAC so you can park in the lot across from M, tell them when you make reservations that you need the shuttle to & from TPAC. You just text or call the driver when the show is almost over & he is outside the door on 6th Ave to pick you up! They provide a validation ticket for the parking lot across from M. Great food, great service!"

"I was so excited to try M, but left very disappointed! I made my Open Table reservation a week in advance. Upon arrival, they blamed Open Table for incorrect seating. Seating was the least of our worries. What we experienced did not even come close to Open Table's fault. We paid our tab before the entrees were delivered."

"The food always matters most and M Restaurant delivers. The two of us were seated in tall two-tops in the bar area. Not quite what we expected with a reservation for dinner, but not a huge problem. We had the crawfish toast and crab cakes to start. Both were amazing. The brioche that came with the crawfish was good enough to eat alone. The entrees were three little pigs (pork tenderloin, pork short rib, and pork cheek) and the special of bacon wrapped sole with artichoke and asparagus egg rolls. Our server was also a bartender but handled the meal well, and was charming and affable. Also, the pork cheek was actually meant to be pork belly. I wasn't told of the sub, but I like both. Definitely go. Great menu."

"Went here with a group of (16) on a Saturday night and they were very accommodating. They have a spacious back room that is separate from the main seating area that was more than accommodating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant; will be back again in the near future. (Make sure to try the Scallops and the Beef Tenderloin)"
