"Our table was preset and ready for us when we arrived. We sat outside so our party of 8 was able to easily converse. Some complained about the sun in our eyes but it soon disappeared behind a tree. Server Sarah was attentive and chef Ciro stopped by to confirm all was well. Everyone enjoyed the entrees and salads. The sufficiently large eggplant parmesan appetizer was a hit when ordered as the entree. All in all, this was a nice evening out with friends."

"We went back for my wife's birthday. We had gone there on St. Patrick's Day and were terribly disappointed so we were apprehensive.
We were pleasantly surprised. The food and the service was wonderful --like it was the first time we tried the restaurant. We will just remember NOT to go on a Holiday from now on. They are on our "go to" list once again."

"My wife and I met another couple for drinks and dinner. None of us had been before, so it was a first impression for the 4 of us. Each one of us had a wonderful meal and a great time. Our waiter Aldo was excellent and made very solid wine and dinner recommendations which worked out well.
The food was excellent, especially the cannelloni Dunedin. Highly recommended. The noise level is high inside and it is a bit tight. Next time we will sit outside once the sun goes down. Before it does, the western exposure leaves the tables fairly exposed.
We will definitely return."

"We enjoyed the evening but our waiter who was very nice made a couple of mistakes. He never mentioned anything about any specials but we overheard other waiters doing this. He put in our order and it came out incorrect, as we were given both the same dinner. I had to wait (short time) for my dinner. When we received our bill it was incorrect not once but twice. We were charged for 2 dinners the same but in reality mine was not the same. We were charged for a salad that was included with the dinner. Everything was corrected and we were satisfied."

"First time to Pensare. first the good : Ronald, our waiter, was excellent. Very attentive.The seaweed fritters that are complimentary, are outstanding! My husband really enjoyed his Linguinni & clam sauce.The cheesecake, & chocolate lava cake were also very good. Now, the not so good: Their house salad was fresh, but very small. Also, not crazy about dressing my own salad. I added way too much vinegar, & hence ruined my salad. .I think they should make the dressing, & serve it on the side. My entree, Papparedelle bolognese was below average. The noodles were very good, however, their was virtually no meat sauce.If you want GREAT bolognese, Vincenzo's does it best. We will definately go back, however,now I know what NOT to order."

"I love it when you arrive for your reservation, and you are greated very warmly by both the staff and owner, and your table is actually ready and waiting! So many places anymore dont know what "reservation" means and you end up waiting 20 minutes or more after your time. Anyway, food was incredible - wine list was very good, some really good priced wines. Service - impeccable. The only negative was that it was very very noisy. The outside patio looks like a great place to dine and watch the downtown visitors go by. We will definately be back to this gem of a restaurant!"

"This was our 4th visit to Pensare,twice for dinner the other times for a glass of wine in the early afternoon.We enjoy the food and the staff,especially that the owners Mike and Robin are working hard to make it the best restaurant in Dunedin.

"We've eaten there once before and the food was excellent as well as the food presentation. We went on St. Patrick's Day this time and beside it being so noisy from the bar area that we couldn't hear each other talk, it was as though there was a different chef. The food looked as though it was just thrown on the plates-horrible presentation. We would say the food was adequate tasting--but definitely not worth the price this time around. Maybe it was because of the Holiday that every dish left a lot to be desired. As much as we were looking forward to dining there, it will now be a LONG time before we even consider going back. What a shame!"

"On Saturday evening March 9th 2013, we had a wonderful evening at Pensare’s restaurant. We were glad to have had a reservation as the restaurant was very busy. However, we did not have to wait for our table very long and the kitchen and restaurant staff kept up with the number of patrons.
Our service was impeccable and the four of us really enjoyed our meal. My husband is a retired chef and restaurant owner and was really impress with the food, service and atmosphere. (Something that I rarely hear him say for all three aspects while we are out dinning).
We look forward to enjoying more evenings at Pensare. Our Thanks to the owners, management and staff for a great evening!"

"The food and service was outstanding. Our server was very sweet and very accomodating to my 2.5 year old daughter and we enjoyed the restaurant and ambience. I really enjoyed my 39th birthday and so did our firends who we had invited there for the first time."

"Our group of 6 felt that the food was only acceptable, not exceptional. The service was excellent. Some of our group felt that the food at Carrabas and Positano's was better. The overall opinion of our group was that the food was not worth the price. Every time we set our utensils down between bites, a busboy asked if we were finished. We felt rushed."

"A welcome and complementary addition to downtown Dunedin which was missing a nice Italian restaurant. The furnishings are nice with attractive paintings well paired with the contemporary decor. There is also a rather expansive bar for a place of this size and canopied outside seating to allow dining during pleasant weather. I had a pasta dish, baby clams with linguine and the pasta was nicely sauced and served al dente with a tartly dressed arugula salad. My wife is a veal aficionado and said that her veal piccata was second only to the gold standard served by Massimo in Palm Harbor which is high praise for her. Michel Rey, the owner stated that they are now open every night and do lunch on weekends."

"After 4 visits, we have several suggestions: CAESAR SALAD: Despite its non-Italian origins, Caesaar has become a mainstay of Italian restaurants, so you need to do much better. I did not detect any anchovy, the croutons, while possibly homemade, were boring. Lettuce seemed chopped, not torn, but that is a volume thing, somewhat tolerable. we like the shaved parmesan. SERVICE: cheerful, helpful, attentive, but unaware of good etiquette which requires that no dishes are removed until the last diner has finished. Entrees were excellent. Good desserts, though limited, great cappucino, best dipping oil we have tasted!! have small flashlights available; monitor background music so it does not add to background noise. We'll be back soon!!!"

"The salmon was exceptionally mild. It was served with an excellent white sauce, which I normally don't care for. The sauce was light and flavorful, quite a surprise to me. I ordered the spinach Romaana. I thought the portion to be small, though again, the flavor was really good. I overheard another diner saying her appetizer portion was large enough to be an entree. I did not order an appetizer so I can't verify that. The fish was moderately-portioned. The Caesar salad dressing was delicious, but the salad was average-sized. Overall, high quality food; smaller portions on the side dishes than I would like. There is a Happy Hour. It is beautifully appointed.I will definitely return."
