"Overall we had a great time at Sheridans. We had 5 people in our group and 4 out of 5 enjoyed what they ordered. My husband ordered the blueberry French toast and he didn't care for it because he said the bread wasn't soaked long enough in the eggs so it was dry. He is not one to complain so he didn't say anything about it until later that night."

"We have bee to Sharidan's for their fish fry a couple times and love it. We decided to try Morthers Day breakfast at it was vary good, the mothers and wives enjoyed it and the food was excellent. We will definitely come back and try some of their other menue itmes, maybe when it is warmer so we can sit outside."

"The food very good. Prices were in line with the food. The server made a few mistakes that were corrected when brought to his attention. Atmosphere enjoyable. Would go back again."

"We ordered the Friday fish fry, which tasted excellent (although one of the plates probably sat too long while the other plate was being prepared and some of food arrived somewhat warm rather than hot). However, the food was very tasty and we enjoyed the atmoshphere."

"We have only gone twice and both times it was for the Fish Fry but would like to go back to try other items on there menue. It was very nice inside, we were seated in the room with the fire place both times we went. Our waitress was vary nice and attentive with a good knowledge of the menue. We loved the freshness of the food as it is homemade and prepared fresh. We will definately be back."

"On the plus side, our food was nice - cornish hen for my husband, and BBQ ribs for me. We shared a very good Applewood Orchard salad to start and shared some very good carrot cake for dessert. In the improvement area, it was very noisy. I gave a "3-energetic" for noise on the rating scale, due to lack of a better descriptor. The noise was not so much energetic as it was "in your face." We could hear conversations from other tables across the room, including every youngster's voice. Seems like they need some sound buffers; nearly all surfaces are hard so sound travels. We dined at 7:30pm and they were already out of soup. Turned out ok since the salad was so good! We will try again after they have had more practice."

"I had the Friday combo with batter fried shrimp, cod and planko perch served with potato pancakes. The shrimp was outstanding as was the cod but....the perch (we were told it was lake perch) tasted very fishy and the potato pancakes were cold when we were served which was disappointing. I had read reviews about the outstanding potato pancakes and was very disappointed. We were told by out server that it was taking longer because they had our orders done, but were waiting for the perch and someone else had ordered them too (I guess they took our perch!). After driving from the west side of Milwaukee to Cudahy, we hoped for an better meal."

"We stayed in one of the sheridan house rooms, and this was located right across the courtyard, so very convenient. We dined here boh for dnner and for brunch the following morning. The dinner dishes were just ok, and lacked a little seasoning and finesse. The breakfast dishes were much better. The service both times was impeccable, we were made to feel very welcome. Overall we had a good experience here and would come again."

"What a Gem:)! We live about 45 minutes away but were in the area for a special event. Stopped by Sheridan's on a whim and we're looking for another special occasion to return! The "Sheridan Chips" were to DIE for! The Basil & Mozzarella Pizza appetizer was large enough for me for an entree. And the Friday Night Fish Fry was EPIC:)"

"Gotta tell you, I eat out a lot and I have tried your place a number of times since you've opened. My experiences have been hit or miss each time. So inconsistent that I can't think to return. Friday March 1st was a miss. Ordered some real tastey top shelf drinks and when dinner came we found around 20 bones in one piece of the baked perch. Even more in the next and my wife could not eat her dinner. I ordered baked cod and got fried. After desert, the check came and I had to ask to remove at least my wife's dinner, as it was returned. Just thought place is so beautiful, that the food should match."

"This isn't the first time I have been to Sheridans. Its diverse menu, tastefully unique 1940s atmosphere, and excellently prepared food keeps me coming back for lovely gatherings with family and friends. The outdoor dining is delightful in the summer, but the indoor setting is oh so uplifting in the winter months. I recommend the restaurant to anyone who is looking for a superb dining experience on Milwaukee's south side."

"Had a package deal including 2 nite stay. Rooms were fabulous, each having a wine valley motif - detailed down to issues of Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast magazines in the room with pages marked for your room theme. Ours was the Napa Valley. We had high expectations for a wine dinner but were surprised to find only 5 wine selections and no Cabernet, despite suggesting Cabernet as the best pairing for their steak, a popular choice. I suspect a peek in the kitchen would reveal teenage cooks rather than a chef. Disappointing as I suspect the owners put much money into the refurbishment. I had a seafood combo cooked in parchment paper with a champagne butter sauce. Someone threw an old dried baked potato in! No sauce left!"

"We loved the warm, cozy atmosphere and the history of the building itself. The food was excellent, we tried a variety of dishes and also opted for desert. The service was well timed and friendly. I have brought friends and family here and will continue to share this neighborhood gem."

"I had the Salmon-- it was OK but tasted a little old. The Meatloaf was not very good. Chicken with pretzel crust was good. Steak was not great either. Overall this restaurant has a great atmosphere. Nice decor and could be a real gem if the kitchen got more attention. I would suggest overhauling the menu and paying more attention to the quality. Pretty pricey for the quality. Server was attentive but did not discourage the meatloaf even when asked before ordering."
