"We have been to this place when it was Elements. We thought we could check it out since we are on vacation in Santa Barbara for a week. Service was terrible!!! It took 2 hours for our brunch and food took too long to serve. Food was ok. It was also too hot inside. We had to flag our servers to get water. But they were quick enough to give the bill after our terrible experience. The servers didn't seem to care either. We will never go back!"

"I went the The French Table on Mother's Day 2013 with six in my party. Two of us ordered crepes, two ordered Ceasar's salad, one ordered a burger, and one ordered pasta. The portions were much bigger than I expected on all items. The crepes were whole wheat, which was surprising to me, and thicker than any crepes I had had prior. The burger meat seemed too small for the size of the bun. Very tasty food overall."

"Situated across from the sunken gardens of the SB City Hall, this new french restaurant is indeed a gem. We stopped for brunch on a Saturday morning, and then for dinner. In both instances the food was outstanding and our servers were great. Attentive without being intrusive.
At dinner we ordered risottos. One was with seafood and a saffron sauce. The other with diced filet mignon and wild mushroom sauce. The presentation was beyond outstanding. Again our servers were attentive, helpful but unobtrusive, and got us to the theater on time without feeling rushed. Kudos to this new 'gem'"

"The food is always tasty and different than other things in SB. Although, my potato gratin was cold inside. The service and attention to detail has not improved even though they have now been open for awhile. There did not appear to be a manager, host or busboys; just 3 servers and a bartender responsible for everything.
Although we had a reservation, it seemed that nobody knew about it; 3 parties were sat before us. We were finally put at a tiny table with scrambled eggs all over the floor. We moved ourselves when something bigger opened up. I saw the eggs cleaned up 35 minutes after we arrived (I checked my watch)We asked for bread twice; it finally came without cutlery or plates. understaffed and disorganized. Who's in charge?"

"I had read prior reviews before making our reservation. The majority said the food was good but the service was poor. I was hopeful that TFT would have seen the scathing reviews about their service and remedied the problem. Sadly, this was not the case. We had to wait near the bar area for an hour to get our patio table for 5. During that time, we were handed menus to look at, but not even an offer to take a drink order was made. The hour wait would have been much more tolerable with a mimosa or latte in hand. More cons: not enough shade cover on the patio, service was very slow & confused, we had to ask multiple staff for what we needed, bar is just wine, champagne, & beer. Pros: although confused, servers were nice, food was very good"

"We had brunch on Easter Sunday. It was raining, which means that the outdoor tables that had been reserved were unavailable and all those people needed to be seated indoors along with all the others who had reserved. The staff was very busy and clearly working hard to keep everyone seated, happy, and fed. While we did have a moderate (not awful) wait for our food, the staff apologized and checked on us frequently. It was hard to be frustrated with them! The food as always was great...hard to believe the "Healthy Breakfast", which looks so bland on the menu, could be so yummy. It's a favorite spot of my husband's and mine; a busy rainy morning won't keep us away."

"The food was pretty good, but the service was awful. It took us over 20 minutes to get water and coffee. I finally got the water myself from the bar after asking our server multiple times and a bus boy. The food was good but not great. I might try it again but would hesitate to recommend it to everyone."

"Everything was great except for the service. We had a late lunch here so there wasn't much of a crowd. We had to ask for silverware and refills on drinks. The waitress did not even check back with us, after our food arrived, to see how we were doing or needed anything. We even had to ask for our bill. The only one who tended to us was the bartender while we were waiting for our table to be ready. Loved the food but the service left much to be desired. I would recommend this restaurant but with a caution regarding service."

"While the food was good, service left much to be desired. Very long waits between being seated & acknowledged by our waiter. Had to flag him down to take our order & then he was never seen again. Both appetizer & entrees came at the same time. Another long wait once finished & had to ask hostess to clear our table. And again asked the hostess--after a long wait--for our bill. Bill was brought quickly & picked up quickly, but the gentleman (I use the term loosely) who returned our bill actually tossed the pen onto our table, as an after thought. This was witnessed by the hostess who apologized saying "he's mad because I keep asking him to do things." Hope Management will begin looking at reviews & make some changes. We will not return."

"The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Service was non-existing; was ignored by waitstaff. Took over 90 minutes to get our food because according to them the chef thought he already taken care of our table; if that was the case wouldn't someone notice 5 plates of food sitting around. Food was inediable, vegetable risotto was not a risotto but a pre-cooked minute rice sitting on top of a liquid pesto, I sent this order back & refused to eat anything else from the kitchen. Their pasta special was missing 1/2 of the ingredients listed and was rubber. The charcuterie was pretty much the left over deli meat from lunch which cost $16 dollars. What made it worst is that the manger never brother to step in & do her job & appoligies."

"It describes itself as a "gastropub & creperie." The French Table doesn't know if it wants to be a bar or a restaurant. There's a designated bar area, but it carries out into the dining area where there's a wall TV and small bar tables instead of regular dining tables. It took about 10 minutes for someone to ask if wanted drinks. Our appetizers were pretty good, but I had one of their crepes as an entree, and it came out lukewarm and close to inedible. The staff was apologetic and credited our bill for my entree, but we won't be going back. Too bad, because there couldn't be a better location with the view of the SB Courthouse."

"This was the third time I've been there, and the last time. The food was again terrible, e.g. the French fries were soggy & cold, the line for Sierra Nevada pale ale was frozen, the salad dressing was pure vinegar, no oil at all. Service has improved, but then there were only about three other couples in the place! Initially thought the chef was just getting his 'sea legs' but the same problems exist so I guess someone just doesn't care or know better."

"Food was delicious - mussels to die for! Portions were generous! The staff - friendly but service was not good. We had reservations at 6:00 so we could make the 8:00 show. We were seated, given menus but no wine list. We had to ask for it. We ordered our wine but waited at least 20 minutes before it was served. Were they growing the grapes? We ordered our salads and entrees. Three salads came but mine didn't. After waiting 5 minutes I asked where it was. They brought it immediately but why didn't they bring it with the others? Three out of four entrees came - mine did not. We had to ask for it... again. They gave us dessert on-the-house because they knew things had not gone well. This is a fairly new restaurant so we will try them again."

"A cute spot and my second time there but once with open table. My first time I ordered a crepe dish and it wasn't what I ordered. I tried to flag down every waiter passing me and I was ignored. Finally a very nice man, going to Paris the next day, got my complaint but I had already eaten the wrong dish. He gave me a note stating I was to get a free item on the next visit. I did not use it. My Beef Bourgonione (sp) was TOUGH. It took awhile for a waitress to get back to us. They did offer to do another dish but I was not happy by this time. They were not busy when we arrived so the 20 some minutes wait to get a drink was not good. We were not charged for my meal. Hubby's rissoto was not even aldente, but rather crisp."

There ended up being 8 of us. We each ordered a different entree and shared, as family and close friends tend to do.
Every dish was Amazing! A few of us left complaining of stretched stomachs like we've never had before. None of us are large people or over-eaters, but we do have rather sophisticated pallets. World travelers and lovers of myriad cuisines, we did not have inflated expectations when we arrived at your restaurant. However, we did expect delicious, quality food.
You far exceeded our expectations with every entree. And, as if that weren't good enough, the price for this incredible meal for eight people was very reasonable & the service was fabulo"

"The quality and variety of breakfast/brunch foods offered at The French Table are really a cut above most restaurants in our area. Noise levels can be high, but, alas, that's typical of most Santa Barbara restaurants."
