"A beautiful dining room, but the quality and flavor of the food wasn't. Dried out burger, brown lettuce salad that I wouldn't serve to any "beast", least alone a patron paying $14.00. Go anywhere else in Gastown, and you'll be served better burger!"

"Secret Location is a great looking restaurant. it is sparkling white and there is a lot of room between tables so it is incredibly comfortable place to have a private meal. The fritters that they give away during brunch are delicious."

"I booked Secret Location for a friend's 40th Birthday celebration. Dealing with the booking was very easy and the staff was super attentive. Especially the pastry chef.
There were only six of us, but we were a noisy, outgoing bunch. One of the guys gave our server a run for his money and was bantering back and forth but our server did a great job maintaining and throwing back the punches.
The food and wine list was great. I was a bit disappointed in the size of the main course portions (I had the special - Sablefish) So I feel this place is more 'fine dining' than a full meal. The oysters were incredible as was the dessert.
If you want dark and cozy though, this probably isn't the best place for that. But all in all an excellent eve!"

"They could have a better variety of starters
The washrooms were not very well attended (paper towels run out at 8:00 pm and never replenished them and there was an unpleasant odour coming from there)."

"Great place fantastic food and wine bar, Décor is modern and warm with European touch done very tastefully and imaginative, Had wonderful dinner and great finish to it was the dessert which unbelievable touch. Will definitely recommend checking this palace out, it is a “Secret Location”."

"This is our first time trying out the place. This is a celebration lunch for my dear friend. We both find the ambulance is so clear and chic. Love the beautiful umbra chandelier. We have order a salad, two entrees and a dessert to share. Everything taste very good. The dessert Strawberries for ever was like a piece of art on a plate. Will definitely go back."

"Daughter, wife and I had brunch here on Mother's Day. Restaurant is very pleasant in a lot of white and soft colours, cool lay out of tables, chairs and bar area. We had the Smoked Sturgeon and Beef Cheek Pastrami Hash as well as a modified order of eggs/hollandaise sauce. Food was very tasty, portions could have been bigger. We had the Gentlemen Prefer Blonds as a dessert - it was incredible, very good mix of ingredients and presentation. Service was very attentive and polite. Great ambience for this brunch. Will definitely try Secret Location for dinner."

"Gentlemen prefer blonds, the dessert, was the best dessert I have ever eaten in my life. Everything about it was stunning, and now this will be a regular spot for me literally JUST for that dessert.
The strawberry fields forever, however, had more to be desired. The strawberries did nothing for me, whilst delicious, just could not find a gastronomic reason for it being there. Maybe something more tart like a raspberry would be more appropriate, but then again I probably know little to nothing. However, individually everything tasted good. THE COFFEE ICE CREAM IS TO DIE FOR, I cant wait til they package this up so I can take it home."

"It was a quiet night but the food quality was just amazing! The seating setup is very trendy but it is a very romantic spot to bring out the ambiance. We didn't have rooms for dessert but the menu on that and the tea and coffee looked really attractive. Will definitely go to secret location again."

"Secret Location is a beautiful new restaurant / store / bar in Gastown. My girlfriend's and I decided to check it out to celebrate several milestones. We booked online and made notes of these milestones and not once were we congratulated by the servers or management - a little impersonal to be honest.
The restaurant itself is stunning. The decor is high end, modern & chic. The cocktail list is diverse and reasonably priced for Gastown. The tasting menu was interesting - we tried the "Salty Snacks"; almonds = great. Popcorn - stale and tasteless. Crackers = dry and flavourless. We ordered the gnocchi and sadly it was severely burnt and charred, we had to send it back.
Overall it was an OK experience, but the menu needs work."

"The ambiance was great, but the service was really really slow. we went there for Valentine Day, they had fixed menue for $75, the first course was chef choice for sharing and it had a soup as muuch as half espresso shot to share!!!!! for 2 people and 3 very small piece, who would put soup for share?????????? and for 2 other main course whatever we chose they were sold out. it was good to experience very beautiful restaurant but will be our last time there."

"I really wanted to like this place for its romantic ambiance and comfy chairs. The service there was awful. It was on the Valentine's day and I understand the staff may be busy. However, having a reservation and waiting for 20 minutes to be seated at the bar is NOT OKAY. The staff paid no attention as we sat at the bar and we really felt ignored. I don't think I will go back unless they make some major changes in their staff and how they get trained."

"I took my girlfriend there for Valentines Day Dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant is striking. It is very white inside but not overly bright. It might be during the day but I don't know yet. We had the three course set menu. The first course, Parsley Root Soup with poached bear and hazelnut oil was fabulous. We had the Grilled Elk Rib Steak for the main course. Neither of us had eaten elk before and it was prepared beautifully with the rib bone Frenched like an overgrown lamb chop and it was cooked perfectly with a nice sear on the outside and medium rare in the middle. It was very tender and flavourful. The desert was a mixture of decadent items that are too many to list but delicious just the same. Overall, a nice experience."
