"We go out for dinner every Friday night and have been to Sawmill in Stony twice in the past. Both times were lacking in one way or another and we were left not sure if we would return. This time though, it was near perfction! My sirloin was cooked perfectly and was melt-in-your-mouth goodness. My fiancee had the prime rib which was also fantastic. We will definitely add the Sawmill Stony Plain back into our Friday night rotation! We also left with a bottle of their house steak sauce! :)"

"I have eaten twice at the Stony Plain location and enjoyed the food very much. However, on both occasions, I was with a party of five and both times was seated at a table for four with a chair stuck on the end for the fifth person. We were very cramped with litle space for glasses, cups, side plates and diner plates, not to mention the lack of leg room. Both times were special occasions and the seating arrangement spoiled the experience. We will probably think twice before bringing our party of five back there."

"I was very much looking forward to visiting the Sawmill for the first time; however, for the price of the food, I was left disappointed (I had the ribs and they were very dry). The service was alright, but not at all what you expect when you visit a higher end restaurant. We had a group of 10, but not all of the food came out at the same time leaving half of our party wondering if they should start without us (but would their food get cold?) or eat before the rest of us received our meals. We also had to wait almost half an hour for the bills once we explained that we wanted one of our guests to receive the birthday discount off of his bill only."

"This was our second time here. The first time was great! The second was not as good but still ok.
Had the prime rib. The jus was forgotten and when I did receive it not as good as usual. The horseradish was just slopped on a side plate. Instead of dish it usally comes in. So that was a disappointment.
But besides that it was good. Just not as good as the first time. Had the prime rib and lobster.
Do not change a good thing. As silly as it may the jus and horseradish is a big deal when getting the prime rib. It was my choice to have it on the side plate instead of having the waitress put it right on the prime rib. Would of been way to powerful for my Liking ."

"I have been here twice and both times the steaks were not cooked as ordered and vegetables cold. Both visits my steak was ordered medium, the first one was rare and on the second visit it came WELL done without a drop of moisture in it. Both times the issue was resolved but it does not make for pleasant dining when one person is eating and the other gets to watch.I will go one more time, but 3 strikes you're out.To go back to the Terra Losa Sawmill would not be supporting my community, but they never fail to deliver my steak as ordered."

"It was our daughter's 9th birthday and when made aware of that fact, the server advised of the Sawmill's birthday program and loyalty program - we saved $25 off the overall bill as a result. Must have a proof of the birthdate with you of course. My vegetables and meat arrived a bit cold and when advised server immediately removed and shortly returned with it heated up. It was all good. Service was quick and consistent and the waitress was very personable. We enjoyed our overall experience."

"Everything was really good except for the Chicken Neptune dish. It was not good at all. I'm not sure what kind of chicken breast was used but it wasn't real. It was overcooked and tough. The seafood topping was over salted. I actually could only take a few bites. I was asked if the meal was okay because I didn't eat much and I said I was full. I didn't want to appear to be rude. This dish needs to be re-worked....use fresh chicken breast and do not add salt to the sauce. My date had the crab platter and was fully satisfied with his meal. "The only complaint was this: My girlfriend ordered her Prime Rib Rare, mine was to be Medium Rare so how is it possible that mine comes to the table much rarer than hers. ( I didn't eat half of mine) The Chef / Cook / Kid cooking, really must work on identifying and recognizing the different types of doneness.

"Made reservations for husbands birthday table of 6 (including 5 year old & infant)Arrived on time were seated promptly. Waiter was pleasant. Got drinks quickly. Ordered appetizers salads & stuffed mushroom caps. Service could have been faster getting these to the table but once they arrived there was no complaints about the food. We ordered steaks all around. Once again this could have came to the table faster. But was good once we got it. It took 2hours before we were done and that was with no dessert."

"This was our second visit to the Stony Plain location and a special occasion, (my wifes birthday). I had the 1/2 rack of lamb, my wife had the 10 oz steak. My lamb was chared and then covered up with horseradish (lots), the garden salad was ALOT of lettus and one tomatoe! My wifes steak was a shoe! Hard and did not taste good! I guess there must be money problems!! I do not think we will return for another disappointment!"

"We waited half an hour for out drinks when we first say down. That pretty much ruined the night for me. Asked the waitress for a Caesar and she said u could only get caesars in the lounge.... Since when?? I thought staff there had to know their menu.. Anyways... I have been there a few times, and as much as I would really like to rant and rave about how awesome this local spot is...I have yet to have an all around amazing experience without some type of error."

"We went to dinner for our anniversary and both decided on the daily special after not seeing a lot of options for food. I know Sawmill is known for steak and it was quite good, but just seemed like there was steak and nothing else.
Food was very good, waitress seemed extremely insincere, her friendliness was definitely an act. British accent also seemed a bit exaggerated. At one point she actually stopped in the middle of processing our bill to talk to their table beside us which I considered extremely rude and unprofessional. She advised us she was quite busy and I understand that, but deal with 1 table at a time."

"It was nice for us because we had a long busy week and we had never been into the new location, but we had a booth, which was PERFECT, it was like they read our minds. The food was amazing, I've never seen Broccoli so green, I didn't have the sauce on there but my boyfriend Leo did and it fantastic, I can't make my yorkshire pudding that puffy and big either. It was such a great experience, our server didn't rush us at all, we sat and visited and talked about our week. I made reservations through website and they were checking on it, called us to confirm for that night, it was great. Over all a 10 in experience."

"Enjoyed a night out with friends - nice atmosphere. Food was very good overall. The service was pleasant, but slow. The only thing that we were very disappointed in was the "oil dip" provided for the lobster. For the price that you pay for lobster, I really think that real warm butter should be provided as an accompaniment for it. We did ask for it and were brought real melted butter, but it took a very long time and everyone was done their meal."

"What a great addition to Stony Plain. Family birthdays have always been eating at the Olive Gardens or Red Lobster in Edmonton. This will definetly change. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and very efficient. This was for our daughter's 18th birthday. The award plan was explained to us, as well as the birthday bonus of $25 off. "They forgot our escargots, had to take back our meals and bring them, they were not hot and piled full of "extras", had to dig for the escargots. Then our meal finally came, and it was also lukewarm, tasted OK but would have been a lot better having hot food on hot plates. I don't eat beef or pork and find that their chicken and fish selections were lacking (only 3). Food not the greatest, but the only "fine dining" in Stony Plain. Would I go back, negotiable but I doubt it, I would probably spend the time and dive into Edmonton for a special occasion."

If I had to make a complaint it would be that we were seated at a two person table at the end of a big birthday party so at times it was a bit noisy and the service was a bit slower when our waitress was occupied by the large group, but not to the point where we found it to be any inconvenience. I think our waitress did a great job for the situation and did even a better job with her suggestion for our meal."
