Le Vieux Logis (The Old Lodge) was named for a famous inn, long known for its warm hospitality and fine food, a favorite stopping place for travelers in the beautiful Dordogne region. We hope to offer the same intimacy and comfort that brought fame to the original Le Vieux Logis, while re-interpreting its classic French cuisine for a new generation, combining its elegance and grace with American ingredients, ingenuity, and style. Bathe in the perfume of this French region! Imagine yourself surrounded by countless varieties of fresh fruit, glorious vegetables and seasonal culinary delicacies.
My friend Marcel Montagnier, the esteemed restaurateur, opened our doors in 1980. What I learned from him, as well as from my husband, Jorgen Kolle, and my parents, Betty and Leon Zeiger, and from my brother, David, is that YOU, our very dear customers, are the most important ingredient on the menu.
"This restaurant has been around awhile, and the food is better than ever. It is a small restaurant, not for children, but for a special occasion. The service is wonderful and the owner is there the whole time, I will go back there again."

"We came here for my Dad's birthday, and everyone was very nice. The server was a little impatient with my elderly parents, but generally the service was good, although we waited a long time for the check. My Dad had the vegetable plate which he loved, and Mom and I had the soft shell crab special which was very fresh and perfectly cooked. They brought my dad a divine complementary chocolate mousse cake for dessert (yum!!!). All in all, this restaurant was much better than we expected, and we will will be back."

"It had been several years since we had eaten at Le Vieux Logis, so decided to try it for a birthday dinner. We were very happy with our decision -- the owner Diane was gracious and welcoming, as were all the servers. The calf's liver was a special treat for my husband -- he rarely finds it on a menu and often, when he does try it, it's under-whelming. This prep was perfect. I enjoyed my soft shell crabs as well. The staff was very helpful in encouraging our selection of appetizers and entrees. We will definitely go back to Le Vieux Logis much more often."

"Le Vieux Logis is a fine old mainstay of Bethesda. Very traditional decor, quite good, if not spectacular, French food. good wines, excellent service. I'd go back, but maybe not on a Saturday night when it's crowded and the closely-spaced tables hem one in. Nevertheless, a pleasant dining experience."

"The food was ok. The vegetarian plate was really disappointing. It looked like a small serving of every vegetable and starch side dish. I think I've grown tired of Vieux Logis. They just don't have anything very interesting on the menu."

"Friendly helpful and gracious service. Nice wine selection. Go with Le Vieux Logis specialties, while I enjoyed my shrimp scampi, the winner was my daughter's dover sole meuniere. She had never had sole before, the prep, presentation and taste was divine. We also enjoyed the lobster bisque which the restaurant graciously let us split. We also split a wonderful dessert - a chocolate cake which I did not catch the name."
