The Chalkboard is a cozy restaurant tucked in the bottom level of the historic Ambassador hotel. The mix of Continental and European flavors on the menu make The Chalkboard one of Tulsa's premier dinning locations. The Chalkboard restaurant offers three private rooms and full service catering. The restaurant is open breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and 365 days a year. The Chalkboard bar is a great place to get a classic cocktail before a downtown show or enjoy a bite to eat and great conversation with locals and business travelers alike.
"The atmosphere is cozy, the food was excellent and the service was professional. My dinner at the Chalkboard on this occasion was a business dinner. My out of town guest were very complimentary."

"Very generous and well crafted martini and delicious scallops. Excellent wait service. A little pricey, but lovely special occasion venue that I'd return to and recommend."

"The stuffed portobello was amazing and no other lunch place I've been in Tulsa has a comparable lunch entree. Was there for two birthdays and beautiful desserts were served without any reminder."

"East Coast transplants reporting from Tulsa. We've been here about a month now, and this is far and away the best meal we've had. We were surprised when the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full as we arrived at 7:35 on a Friday night. Our suspicion quickly faded. Peroni on tap and a solid manhattan immediately brought us around. We started with the crabcake and it was as good as anything you'll find out east - little to no filler. My beef wellington had the pastry just right, crisp on the outside yet fluffy and easy to open with just a fork. The beef could have been a little more rare, but that is a matter of opinion/taste. My wife's scallops were right sized and delicious - only bone to pick is the risotto was a little too 'wet'."

"This was our first visit to the Chalkboard and it was okay. The food and service were adequate but not great. The bread pudding and coffee were the best but the lamb was tough and the rest of food was average. We might try the bar one night because the place looked like a great place to have a drink."

"Another fabulous evening at The Chalkboard, which never fails to impress. Our server, Eric, selected an impeccable bottle of wine, followed by the crabcake appetizer(a group favourite). The entrees were timed perfectly, glasses attentively filled, and signature desserts devoured. Cannot wait for the next occasion - or out-of-town guest - to revisit this phenomenal Tulsa secret."

"First time at this amazing restaurant in the Ambassador Hotel in Downtown Tulsa -- food was AMAZING! I had the diver scallops and risotto, husband had sweet potato gnocchi - both were the very best we've had and we've had them at the best places. Sit in the wine room! Very romantic, quiet, wonderful service!!"

"Let us start by saying The Chalkboard has excellent mimosa's. The crab Benedict is unbeatable in Tulsa. The Chalkboard burger is a hunger-killing 10 oz. If Natalie is your server you will always receive a big smile and attentive service."

"We went to the Chalkboard for breakfast. The coffee was good enough it didn't need cream or sugar, and both of our breakfasts were terrific. The wait staff was friendly and informative. It was a super nice place to have a casual breakfast."

"Menu for lunch is mostly sandwiches. Close to downtown location draws a more business oriented crowd. Very different from our last dinner experience."

"This was my first time to eat at The Chalkboard and I was impressed with their menu and variety of gourmet dinner options. I had the fisherman's stew, my wife had the lamb. The waitress was kind, and the atmosphere relaxed. It was our anniversary. There are two things, however, with which I was disappointed; the price and quantity of food. At $30-$40 a plate, I want a meal! The portions were princess portions. I could have eaten 3 times that amount and I'm not big.
Also the wine list seemed a little sparse. Nothing extraordinary.
The experience wasn't bad. At $120 on a dinner for two, I felt like I did not get my money's worth, but that's all."

"This will go down as one of our favorite dining experiences! The atmosphere was intimate and cozy and the staff friendly and attentive. The cheese plate appetizer was a hit for everyone at the table. The Beef Wellington was delicious and the bread pudding was a perfect dessert to end our meal. We will definitely be back to dine at this restaurant again!"

"Overall very good. excellent food quality and display. Good service. friendly staff. Not too noise but busy. Table a little tight but we sat next to a pole that made it a little awkward. Still very enjoyable and I will definitely go back."

"Great food! My wife got the sweet potato gnocchi and it was delicious. I had the peking duck breast and it was good but I found myself eating off of my wife's plate. The service was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive but didn't linger or smother us."
