"We certainly enjoyed it. The food was very high quality bar food. Interesting menu, good drinks. A little louder than I was comfortable with, but that was just because they were busy. Will return, probably just not at happy hour."

"We were pleasantly surprised with the comfy seating upstairs for our party of 10. The wait staff was great besides a few little mistakes that were easily overlooked, but contributed to our four out of five overall rating.

"We had a very nice dinner before heading over to the Wang Theatre for a concert. It was extremely busy and somewhat noisy, but that is to be expected when everyone is looking for a quick bite in the Theatre District.
We had a personal pizza and a chicken sandwich. Dishes were good and plentiful."

"We tried to get reservations a few times but it was booked. Knowing what I do now, the bar area is fabulous and I'd go and try to get in anytime. Very nice design.
We ended up with the day off and went in on an afternoon. It was around 2:00 so it was end of the lunch rush and was perfect. Obviously it was not the hopping atmosphere of a Friday night we intended but the music was great and the crafted cocktails were worth the trip. The only way to explain the food is, it was exactly what I wanted it to be and then, bumped up another notch. Fantastic

"We had lunch there on Tuesday, had made a reservation which worked out extremely well and were seated promptly. Unfortunately there appeared to be only one waiter for the entire restaurant and we did not have the luxury of time for a leisurely lunch. The waiter was kind and helpful but obviously overbooked. To add to the disappointment, the food was only ok. The price of the food is quite high, particularly the salads, for the quantity of the meal. Two of us had the grilled chicken sandwich and by the time our meals arrived, the chicken was cold. I love the location, the menu has potential but overall, this was a big disappointment. I hope some changes will be made going forward!"

"I really wanted to love Abbey Lane. The decor is great. And very clean. We went for a late lunch around 4:00 after a play in the theater district. Our server was absolutely miserable - she didn't smile, never asked how our food was, didn't offer specials until asked. The hosts were perfectly pleasant. It took a long time to get our food, considering there was only three other tables. I ordered the lobster roll and the onion rings and grilled bun were stone cold because it was sitting at the window while my husband's pizza was cooked. The pizza at least came out piping hot, but I asked for fresh rings. When we left, we accidentally forgot our leftovers and went back within 5 minutes, and the server had thrown them out!"

"We were going to see Peter Pan at the Wang Center and this restaurant is right across the street! We sat upstairs in lounge chairs overlooking the vibrant theater scene and ate delicious food. The Caesar salad was fine except, what is with the fried whole egg? They really should have bread and butter for those who ask for it as opposed to being served chips, which were tasty but we wanted a nice crusty French roll or the like with the salad. The sliders were amazing! If you are calorie conscience, don't partake in these yummy burgers...there's a reason they are SO good. Their signature half roasted chicken was delicious...it is brined for 12 hours so it is moist and flavorful. Again, we would like some bread with this dish but, oh well!"

"I have been wanting to visit Abbey Lane ever since it opened in the fall of 2012 and was finally able to make the visit on Saturday 4/20. The wait was well worth it!! The restaurant has a great ambiance, it's dark and inviting. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The cocktail offerings were fun and delicious. We started with the appetizer special: a pasta dish with smoked mozzarella and meatballs with a cream sauce. We could have licked the dish clean. Our Entrees were the Pizza Bianco and the Grilled Rare Ahi Tuna both to die for.

"Our server was excellent, our food was very good, but the execution was TERRIBLE! Our wine was delayed because they ran out of glasses, our appetizer took forever and was served without the chicken we ordered. Then our entrees were brought out immediately after receiving our appetizer. We requested they be held, and then were served lukewarm/cold. I think that Abby Lane could be an excellent restaurant on a "normal" evening, but they could not handle the crowd due to the fact that there was a show at the Wang Center that evening. Need more servers, and more organization in the kitchen."

"Wonderful restaurant with great food and excellent service. Perfect place to dine before or after attending a show in Boston's theatre district. Would recommend reservations, which we did make prior to attending an event at the Wang Theatre. We had plenty of time to enjoy a terrific meal and make the show in plenty of time. "When I was looking for a great Rst to go to before the theater, Abby Lane popped into view online. The menu looked great and diverse, filet to burgers to lobster rolls..priced very reasonable. I made the reservation online & typed in the section of special requests that it was my husbands birthday and to please honor that with something at dessert time. We were the only diners, yet our server was abrupt and condescending. I ordered my cocktail shaken as I prefer lots of foam. When I recd it and noticed it not shaken at all, I requested it be fixed and I was met with an eye roll and and a quick grab of the glass. This was the same when I asked for some au jus or gravy for my filet. He laughed at me, as if to say.."you're kidding, right"?"

"Saw Abby Lane on phantom gourmet and decided to give it a try. It was Easter so it wasn't busy at all. The decor was classy yet cozy, although the open kitchen that night wasn't too much to look at with the kitchen staff not having much to do...food was great! Blue chips and onion dip as their version of the complimentary bread was delicious! As were the 2 appetizers and entrees my boyfriend and I shared. Our waitress wasn't as attentive as I would expect on a night where there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant, but nothing too bad! I'd definitely come again for more cocktails and their delicious Mac n cheese!"

"I had friends visiting me NYC and we brought along a toddler with us. It was a last minute reservation and I was surprised to get a table right away. When we got to the restaurant, the three of us were seated right away and our toddler had his own high chair. Our waiter was so patient with us and even recommended what was good on the menu. Overall experience was amazing. This is my second time in this restaurant. Great job guys, keep up the good work."

One issue was the air conditioning was blowing on us for the first 15 minutes of dinner, and it was winter outside. We asked the waitress several times to turn it down, but to no avail. We finally got the manager's attention, and it was off within 2 minutes."

"Food was okay, but not great. We snacked on Kobe Sliders and the Pizza Margherita. They weren't bad, but nothing to write home about. The desserts were awful. We ordered the Blueberry Crisp and the Banana Toffee Jar. Both were uninspired. A jar full of blueberries. Meh. The best part about the Banana Toffee Jar was the whipped cream. Was there any toffee in there? Next time I'll just go there for drinks."

"My wife and I went there after a show at the Wang center. Inside the place looks great but, the seating was very cramped. I was offered a table by the kitchen door or a high top. We decided to sit at the high top table. All I can say is what a mistake. First you are sitting so close to the people next you it is impossible to have a private conservation. Also every time one of the staff walked behind me they hit me trying to get by. We had two sandwiches and one drink each and the price was just too high. Including tip we paid over $70.00. For what we got it just wasn't worth it. The next time we are in the theater district in Boston we will not be going to Abby lane."

"A good burger and nice decor, but a little pricey for what's offered. The service is competent but no one seems terribly enthused to have the business. I might go back before a show at the Wilbur, but I'd never walk more than two blocks to eat there again. Nothing "wrong," per se; it just doesn't stand out."

"Though our servers were well intentioned and pleasant, various errors in our orders made our meal disappointing. They need to choreograph service better. Half of our group got the wrong entrees making the timing of the rest of our eating off. The beer refill ordered with the meal by one of the guests was served as we were finishing our desserts.

"This is my second time dining at Abby Lane before a show at the Wilbur (right across the street), and both times, the service was outstanding, the cocktails were creative and satisfying, and the food was consistently great. The shrimp tacos and the Sicilian pizza are now my two favorites, along with "The Abby," a pear martini finished off with a nice bubbly. The menu is highly versatile- offering everything from tuna tartare to pizza and burgers to duck,and while everything is tasty, there is nothing fussy. Domenic's was a great hole in the wall pizza place, but Abby Lane is a fabulous reincarnation!
Reasonable prices for a casual dining experience with a menu anyone can access...I would not hesitate to recommend Abby Lane."

"The food and cocktails were very good. The service was below average. It was a busy Friday night but our waiter was inattentive. We ordered appetizers and he asked if he could take our dinner order at the same time. We gave him our dinner order and then approximately 25 minutes later our meals were delivered. The appetizers however were completely forgotten. When we asked the waiter he said he would bring them right away. Unfortunately, I don't believe he had even put an order in as they arrived about 20 minutes after our meal. I felt we should of been compensated for that."
