Table Verte is a new French Bistro… With a twist : We are Vegetarian.
Another way to put it : it’s the vegetarian for the rest of us!
Opened since October 2012, we are now offering a preview menu, and we are going to try new things out along the way and bring you the best in vegetarian food.
Like our sister restaurant Taureau, it’s a place we’re already dubbing a Certified First Date Safe Zone ™… Come in and discover the charm of this new restaurant, and feel free to BYOB while we are waiting for our liquor license.
"Loved this restaurant! Took a friend to celebrate something special and it was amazing. Sadly, it was their last brunch because they don't have a liquor license (didn't bother us) but I can see how some like the option. Will absolutely be coming back for dinner. BYOB. We are foodies AND vegetarians and truly appreciate the care and creativity of the menu and preparation. One of my daughters is a vegan, there are not as many options for vegans but the ones there are make it worthwhile. Table Verte will be such a welcome addition to our family and our neighborhood."

"A very good vegetarian restaurant with French overtones. The goat cheese tart and the beet salad were both excellent. The service was very friendly and the staff welcomed feedback."

"The food at Table Verte is solid bistro fare for vegetarians. The best dishes were the appetizer soups (onion and the daily special). The roasted cauliflower was also enjoyable, with an interesting fig and caper sauce. But service left much to hope for. Our mains were brought while my partner was still eating her soup! We sent them back to wait of course, but only to have them slammed back on the table the minute she finished her soup. People need a bit of time between courses; there are some limits to what's appropriate even on a busy Saturday night! (I should add that all this was the work of one particular waiter; the others who stopped by our table were professional and friendly.)"

"My friend from Toronto was visiting New York City and my wife and I treated her to dinner at Table Verte. It was the first visit to this restaurant for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. Christopher, our waiter, provided the best possible service: he was attentive but not obtrusive, helpful but not pushy. Our compliments to the great chef. All in all, this was a fantastic experience for everyone."

"Three of us had a delightful brunch at Table Verte. The food was excellent and delicious for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. Service was attentive, and the chef stopped by to say hello. Highly recommend."

"Excellent French-inspired vegetarian and vegan food place. The restaurant is very small and narrow which adds to its "neighborhood gem" feeling. Soups were superb and the food was well seasoned and tasty - I took my vegetarian parents out to eat here and they were thrilled, as was my date and myself (non-vegetarian). Excellent!"

"For any vegetarians looking to break away from the usual, Table Verte is a must. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere is great. The chef and staff clearly have a passion for what they do, the chef even came to chat with us a bit. Can't wait to return!"

"We went here for my Birthday dinner. Very friendly, casual & cozy. Currently BYOB! We ordered 2 Appetizers: #1: Cassoulet Vegetalien: Vegan Beans stewed with roasted shallots. It was very comforting and delicious. #2: Haricot Verts: Sauteed with garlic and parsley. This was a simple and delicious dish. For the Entrées: #1: Choux Fleur Roti: Roasted cauliflower with rosemary scented wild rice, roasted yam, sautéed greens with a fig and caper sauce. This dish was pure MAGIC! You have to order this when you go here. #2: Fennel & Petit Onion Confit: With rosemary polenta, roasted peppers and sauce tomate. We loved this too! This was sublime & divine! Dessert: Roasted smoked chipotle spiced pineapple, coconut sorbet & a blackberry sauce. Delish!"

"This was our first time using Open Table and we found Table Verte and picked a reservation. We immediately got a call back confirming our reservation from the restaurant. We were only around the block and we arrived a few minutes early, but our table was ready. The vegetarian menu had some hearty offerings for a chilly night. The mushroom barley soup was rich with flavor. The French Onion soup was robust. The goat cheese tart was very good as was the Gnocchi. It was a very intimate setting with friendly diners. As the restaurant is still BYOB another table of diners who were leaving, left us with a bottle of Cabernet they hadn't finished. If you like good vegetarian fare, well prepared, you won't be disappointed."

"If I lived in the area I'd probably go since French vegetarian is a definite change form many of the other veggie cuisines like Indian. The service was very good and the restaurant is still BYOB since they are awaiting their liquor license. The mushroom ragout is a winner, the gnocchi less so. I wish there was another dessert option or two though the semolina pudding was good. And I wish they had a few more side options. The hot appetizer section is good with creamy potatoes and soup."

"This small and cozy place is a gem for those looking or vegetarian food beyond what is easy to find (Indian, Asian, steamed something on rice). The decor is simple; the first thing I noticed was the aroma. The roasted cauliflower had many layers of taste, perfect together or separate. I'm going back for the fennel and onion confit. Bring your not so vegan friends too- the menu has something to please everyone. The gnocchi with truffles is something you'd expect to find at only top French restaurants but yet has the unpretentious feel of grown up Mac and cheese. This place would be great for date night, bring the parents, dinning alone or even with a larger group as they have a long banquet that many. Service was lovely."

"Great for couples and friends with vegetarian food restrictions. One of the first vegetarian restaurants I've been to that doesnt feel like it is "for" vegetarians, they really do a great job being accessible to a wide audience. Thoroughly enjoyed it."

"Interesting take on vegetarian food. I suspect vegetarians (I'm one) will be more enthusiastic than others. It was still BYOB when I went the other night. That was a plus. I would definitely go back, but likely with a veggie-oriented group or other person."

"The food was really good! We almost licked our plates. But it seemed overpriced for such humble food. But I know rent is steep. I think the whole menu should be vegan; veg dishes containing dairy are easy enough to find at regular restaurants. If I were vegan, I'd find your offerings too limited to bother coming to Verte when Angelica is so close by. Compare your space and prices to Angelica: theirs are better & they're your main competitor. The atmosphere was unfortunate. Needs more warm colors, more and better light. No one looks good under those dim green lights, so, not romantic. Tabletops look like something from a fast-food joint. At your prices, you should supply cloth, not paper napkins. The dining room was cold on a cold night."

"French vegetarian? Who knew?!? I'd heard from other vegetarians that it was great, but had to find out for myself. Went with three omnivores, and we ALL enjoyed it immensely. Creative, delicious vegetarian & even vegan interpretations of French classics. Really scrumptious. Go!"
