"This was our second visit to restaurant 552 and again a great experience! Because we had a reservation, our table was waiting for us! The staff at this restaurant is exceptional in that they will do everything possible to ensure that you have a wonderful experience. The owner, Glenn, is very friendly and always keeping an eye on his guests, making sure everyone is happy. Lilly, the bartender is awesome with her million dollar smile and dance moves! The food is very good and their menu is perfect for anyone. I recommend a reservation to ensure that your table will be waiting for you."

"We visited Five.Five 2 on Saturday night. Making the reservation for dinner was FLAWLESS! We sat right away once we arrived. My disappointment lies in several areas; it took a while for someone to come to the table and take a drink order, and/or give any explanation about the menu options (Tapas vs. main meals). The lack of attention given to our table remained a constant throughout the meal. Secondly, we ordered TAPAS APPETIZERS, the meaning of a tapas menu is to share....ONE CRABCAKE (not large) came to the table with other appetizers - there was no value in the appetizers. The entrees were tasty - I had the gorgonzola flat iron steak, my wife has the swordfish."

"this is our second trip and i have to say that the food is good, the service could be more attentive , i dont if they are understaffed but its like they want to rush you. the bar has gone down hill , there were no tables only bar stools and a large open bar area. allowing eating at the bar is fine and understandable but the problem here is you cant actually get a drink if everyone is eating... we waited 10 mins to get a drink.
the food is great, they need to focus on the attosphere , maybe have music (soft) playing in the dining room...
we will try again, i hope they dont mess up a great opportunity."

"Everything we had from appetizer to dessert was delicious & original. The service was quite attentive & friendly. And the wine list was varied & affordable so unlike many of the restaurants on the island. It was a pleasure dining there."

"The new menu is great and the food was exceptional. Adam Pitre is a first class chef. Flavorful crab cakes. Perfect sliders. Fresh local ingredients make a difference. One at our table is a vegetarian. She was very happy with all the choices. There is something for everyone. Looking forward to going back again."

"we were greeted by the owner, Glenn, very friendly and cordial. This was followed by a very attentive and courteous staff that brought out 10 to 12 tasty tapas and starters that the 6 of us enjoyed. It was a fun way to enjoy a dinner without having a main course. We are looking forward to our next visit to Five Five 2"

"Restaurant has several rooms, so we were able to get a quiet table away from the bar. The bar area was very noisy. Food was quite good, although as it was restaurant week, the menu was somewhat limited. Will go back to check out the full menu and tapas"

"Five.Five2 disappointed us with average tasting food and slow service. My salad was very good, however the crabcake was nothing special with too much breading. The MahiMahi special was nicely done yet a very small portion. The pork chop was large and filling with the salad greens accompanying it. Desserts were all good, especially the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.Service was exceptionally slow. One roll was served. We needed more butter which we had to ask for & no additional roll was offered. We waited 1 hour for our appetizer to be served. Mahi Mahi main course was quite small, yet delicious. The Pork Chop waa sizable with lots of greens. The Crabcake appetizer was too breaded. The salad was excellent."

"We've been to this new restaurant several times already....the food has been good. This time very so-so. My dessert ..a warm choc bunt cake w ice cream..you know that gooey great dessert.... was cold. They forgit to heat the choc cake so the fudge was hard... A tough one for the kitchen and server to miss. But they did. The service ...although nice to not be rushed is VERY slow..that has been a constant."

"We like the layout of the restaurant with smaller dining spaces rather than 1 big room. The noise level was too high, however. We had to shout to hear one another across the table. Three of our party had the fish special, & all commented that the entree was a large size with 2 pieces of fish, which all enjoyed. The short ribs were bland, and the spinach accompanying the chicken under a brick was very, very salty. The swordfish entree was very good. Service was slow. We were there an hour before we were served our appetizers, although we did get served complimentary cucumber hors d'oeuvres & bread pretty quickly."

"So good! Had the Ny Apple salad and the brick pressed chicken and really enjoyed both. My friend had the rigatoni which I sampled and that was very good as well. Waitstaff was friendly and the owner was attentive. Bartender was wonderful and made our special requests easily. Bar scene was busy and fun with a nice crowd of people. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor. Overall a great restaurant and wonderful dining experience!"

"Been before and loved the food but the service was not good. Because the food was so good we decided to give it another chance and were very disappointed with the service again. The drinks took forever to get to the table and the order was wrong and the bill was also wrong. We waited way to long to get the grated cheese to go with the pasta dish, a spoon for the muscles, the wait staff seemed over whelmed. These little things all add up and when brought to the attention to the owner he did not seem very concerned. We had already heard the word sorry for about the 6th time. Anyway SORRY to say we will not be going back, which is to bad because again the food was great."

"My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Restaurant 552. The bartender, Angelo, was very nice and attentive. The mid week special of a price fix menu is very good. The owner circulated in the dining room to ensure his guests were satisfied with their dinner. We can't wait to go back."

"This was a meal during restaurant week, so I don't think it's entirely fair to judge, however, I do use these opportunities as a chance to check out a place we've been considering. The apps we loved: Tuna Tartar and the Salad were yummy. The others which I'm not even remembering...were forgettable. The main courses were for the most part over done and dry. The swordfish was a very small portion, and we all thought if they cut it smaller but thicker rather than larger and thinner, it would have retained its juices.
Also, when we questioned our server about a type of wine, she was clueless and challenged us. Overall, I can't say we would drop a large amount of money here unless they really improve the overall quality of the food"

"The food was very good. There were 5 of us and two had eggs one hamburger and 3 pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The gentleman playing the piano was delightful. The owner is very polite and graceous. We will be back. Two of us are local. The other three are from Nassau county. It was an extremely pleasant experience. Thank you.

"The menu was limited. They offer snall bites, appetizers and main dishes which the same items were on all three. They boast a rare wine list. Right away we picked a wine in the menu and they did not have it. The food was nice but the restaurant was overpowered with noise from the bar area"

"It was Saturday night of restaurant week we were a party of four with the reservation I thought the food was fabulous the valet service was nice, host greeting at the door was very attentive, and the bartender while we were waiting for our table was very pleasant and served us well made drinks
The complaint at the table and the table next to us I believe we were sitting at table 51 in the bar against the wall was the service Although the waitress was pleasant she asked us to order our dinner before bringing our drinks Never returned to see how our appetizers or dinner was Did not offer us any coffee before our dessert was brought out and when coffee was brought out no milk or sugar Two of the dinner beverages never made it"

"This was our second time to 552. My childhood favorite, Mac and cheese is a must try in its grown up form with lobster, white truffle and cheddar! The Big Eye Tuna tartare was as scrumptious as it looked, one bite into the crispy wonton and just the right amount of spicy mayo puts this dish on the A list also. We are looking forward to going back to 552 to work our way through the menu. The restaurant has an eclectic feel but with a comfortable atmosphere fit for a scene from Casablanca. The proprietor Glenn and his staff made us all feel welcome. Not sure what wine to order? Ask for the Sommellier he will take the guess work out of ordering for you. The cucumbers in olive oil and cracked pepper, although simplistic, are calling my name!"

"This restaurant never fails to please! A celebratory birthday meal was handled with extra care and lovely details. The calamari is delish, and the spaghetti with lobster had just the right chili spice. We are regulars and we will continue to be so! Can't wait to experience the new Sunday Jazz Brunch!!Thank you to all!!!"

"What a disappointement. I had been to the previous O's and knew that this was a different chef, but I had high hopes after reading the Newsday review. We went to dinner on Valentine's night and knew it would be busy. However, when the waitress asked us what we would like to drink-she told us to buy bottle of wine, because it was cheaper & if we bought glasses of wine, she didn't know if she could get us more "because she would be too busy"! That was definitely off putting. The meal it's self was mediocre at best. We decided to give them another chance,so we went back on a Thursday evening. We were not greeted at the door-in fact there was no one around. After searching we were told to order at the bar. Not at all welcoming,so we left."

"This newest reincarnation of O's tries falls a bit short though they do try hard. We had to wait 40 minutes to be seated - despite having a reservation. The manager stopped over a few times to apologize and bought us all a round of drinks/wine while we waited - and waited. The menu is small although interpreting it required quite a bit of explanation from our server who gamely answered all our questions. Our food was good but not up to what it seems they're trying to achieve. The restaurant bills itself as offering small plates although none were offered or on the menu - until we received the dessert menu - the small plates offerings are on the flip side of that. Wish we had seen it before we ordered in order to have had that option."

"The staff was friendly and accommodating. The mussel appetizer was flavorful as was the calamari but because of how the calamari was served, the crust fell off and/or became soggy. The entree of pasta with braised pork was not what I had expected; it was reminiscent of a bolognese sauce but lacked the flavor. The fish special entree was supposed to be mahi mahi but seemed to be swordfish. The risotto that is was served on had a flavor that was hard to determine but it was not good. The desserts were very generous portions and the gelato was creamy and flavorful and the cream served with the berries was very good."

"Went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day so the experience may not be accurate for day to day dining. Seating was a bit tight and we had to move tables for comfort. Menu was limited for the occasion but had some very good choices. The Flat Chicken was extremely tender and the crab cake was superb. Wine list was pretty extensive with a good selection at each price level. The service was excellent if a bit slow (maybe due to the occasion). Everyone was attentive and responded quickly to requests. We plan on visiting again to try items from the regular menu."
