"Havana Central fills a nice niche at Roosevelt Field. It has an interesting pan-Latin menu that hit the mark when called upon. The empanadas where the one dish I would potentially pass on next time as they seemed more Hot Pocket than Latin delicacy. The mojitos were refreshing. Mofongo was delicious even if a little closer to room temperature than I would have liked. My date had a perfectly cooked shrimp in her salad. Our server Megan was warm and friendly.
We'll be back for sure."

"As far as I am concerned, the food was overpriced for the portion given. When receiving a reservation, the host should ask whether the guest wants to sit near the live music or not. I specifically made a reservation for the live music night and we were seated in a completely separate room, far away from the music, at a table suitable for 4 people, not the 6 people for which I made the reservation. So tell me, what's the point of making a reservation?"

"I went to Havana Central with 5 other friends and we had an awesome time. Our waiter Nathaniel was very accommodating and pleasure from beginning to end. The appetizer were great! We had empanadas,calamari and hot lobster cheese dip. Our entrees were just as good with the exception to the oxtails. Three of us ordered them and all contained large amounts of fat on the meat. I found this extremely surprising and disappointing for such an established restaurant. Overall, the atmosphere and ambiance helped to make up for any short coming with the oxtails."

"Went to Havana Central based solely on open table reviews and was COMPLETELY dissapointed. The service was friendly but very slow...waited so long for drinks, food, for anyone to just happen over to the table to see if all was ok. The food was just EH. Nothing special, nothing like the reviews. We ordered the lobster stuffed avocado and fankly i can get better lobster salad from Costo. I would not recommed the place, sorry. I was so hoping to find a good cuban restaurant."

"Honey, this place has flavor. The decor was great and the ambience was out of this world. We had a dinner around 9 and the energy when we walked in was electric. There was a live band with plently of people dancing and enjoying. Its defiently not a dressed down place, everyone looked well put togethr, business casual. My waitress was so friendly and patient with me being that I was very unfimliar with the dishes. The drinks are very strong, I enjoyed the hennessey Sangria. I orginally ordered a mango bicardi drink but it was entireloy too sweet. The food was amaing, the flavors sent y tasebuds wild. Bite after bite, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection."

"This is my second time at this location and I have to say the staff are super amazing, always courteous and friendly and most of all attentive. We had a wonderful birthday celebration with mojitos aplenty! The paella was delicious and stays very hot in the metal pots they are served in. Generous portions, had enought for a full meal the next day! We also shared the lobster stuffed avocado, which is garlicy good and not filling. Flan of course finished our meal with just the right texture! Will be a frequent flyer here, I am already friendly with a few of the staff there."

"We were 4 old friends meeting for dinner on a Monday night, and Havana Central fit the bill. I had been there once before for lunch when you first opened, the others were first timers. "My meal was good but the 3 other people I was with were not impressed. I would go back but my husband says he would not. It was very hard to understand our waiter and we sat with empty glasses for a while. We had to ask the food runner to bring the men new beers and fill up out water glasses because we could not find out waiter."

"Third time at Havana Central since late February. The food is quite tasty. I keep getting the same dishes so that is indicative of how much I enjoyed them. The mofongo ropa vieja is highly recommended. Drinks pack enough punch for the usual cost. The port sangria is a winner over the Shiraz sangria. I still have a Groupon to use when I check out the live music and bar scene on the weekend."

"The reason why I gave a "Fair" for the Service, was because they took a long time to serve the entrees. However, they did bring out plaintain chips and dip to much on while waiting for the entrees. The food and drinks were amazing! The waitress was helpful and friendly. They also comped us our desserts for taking so long with the entrees.
Overall, I really liked this restaurant and would highly recommend it, if you like Cuban food."

"Havana Centralwas an amazing place. I have been in the Food and Beverage Industry over 10 years and in Management and Director positions. The food was great and the the drinks were awesome. "I was at Havana Central for lunch with three friends. The booth was spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant was not very crowded, so noise was not an issue.
We all ordered the lunch specials, so the price was reasonable. The food was very good, although they made an error on my meal and had to take it back and re-do it, which meant that I wasn't eating when my friends were.
The service was very pleasant, but not very well coordinated or experienced. I think they need some additional training for their staff.
All in all I would definitely try it again as everyone was very pleased with their dishes."

"Went here to celebrate a birthday. The decor is fabulous and fits very well with the theme of the restaurant. ALL of the food was absolutely delicious. After sampling a variety of appetizers and enjoying our meals, we left without room for dessert. Would highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to going back and sampling some drinks!"

"As this being my 3rd time at the restaurant, I again had a great dining experience. The food was delish as usual... the only complaint I can share right now was that my Tostones Rellenos, (the ropa Vieja appetizer). was not good at all... the tostone was soggy and the Ropa had no flavor like it usually does....and it was tough. I should of sent it back, but I just let it go and waited for the rest of my dinner... I probably should of sent it back to give them a chance to make it correct but I figured it would take too long for another one. so that was my choice. Otherwise, the food was very good and the service was excellent!!!"

"FEEL SPECIAL WHILE DINNING OUT Made Open Table dinner reservations, and were pleasantly surprised to have been seated up front facing the five music ensemble playing that evening. The music was a plus to the delicious tasting food choices we made, Mofongo with shrimp in a creole type sauce, and for me grilled salmon with a mango chutney topping over a bed of blanched spinach and grilled vegetables, rice and black beans. The sangria was great, as were the flan and the tres-leches cake we later had for dessert. We have eaten here before and enjoyed the food, are VIP members and received a dinner coupon for my birthday. Must say, we have never been disappointed yet! Thank you Havana Central, YOU ROCK!!..."

"We had a bit of trouble finding the restaurant. We were in Roosevelt Field 40 minutes before we located it, which made us 20 minutes late for the reservation. I had to call the restaurant THREE times to get a more precise location. I have a condition that makes it uncomfortable for me to walk very far so I finally had to sit outside The Grand Lux while my cousin went to get his car, then we were able to find the restaurant."
