"Enjoyed a nice brunch with my parents this past Sunday. The food was very flavorful and we had good service. We all liked the decor which combined the brick and wood and made it feel very warm and cozy. I would have loved to have seen some fish offered at brunch - something other than smoked salmon...something cooked. Also the orange juice did not taste freshly squeezed, it tasted like it was from concentrate or store bought and was disappointing. Other than that, we really liked our meal and experience across the board. Will go back again to try dinner there soon."

"This place is nice and the menu certainly has all the keywords and menu items popular in cutting edge restaurants. However some of the items fall short of its description. Given the "elephant" on the same street it's hard not to find yourself comparing the merits of the dishes. Also it appears their kitchen has a hard time keeping up with the orders. Our server walked by us a million times trying to keep his tables happy awaiting the food. This is a great runner up spot when the elephant is full."

"Hands down- the best brunch in Miami. No need to go to that pretentious place up the street--Oak Tavern has an incredible menu (with real size portions) , great atmosphere and staff. They don't make you feel that they are doing you a favor by allowing you to eat at their restaurant like the guy down the street. The restaurant has a large court yard and large interior. You never feel as if you are sitting on top of someone--like the other guy down the street. Try the Blueberry pancakes or the coconut french toast!"

"The entire evening was wonderful...Food great, waiter attentive....However we were about 3/4 through our meal when another group arrived next to us. They began shifting the chairs, moving things around and making a disturbance with no regard to us. There was no supervision by the House to assist and the noise level was over the top. The restaurant then blasted the music to the point we could no longer hear each other. Good timing for us to finish our meal."

"We had a wonderful meal on an early Friday evening. We sat outside. The waiter was informative, cheerful, and quick. We ordered the chopped salad, beet salad and the sausage meatball pizza. I had a fantastic Manhattan that was a rare treat because it was made out of a rye and had a dark cherry rather than the usual boring stock maraschino cherry. We saw the Chef talking to the crowd which is always encouraging too. We've recommended it already to our neighbors and will be back."

"So many restaurants try to pull a high price tag for their plates, but many fall short of delivering anything exceptional. Oak Tavern has exceptional service and a unique menu fit or any foodie. I do recommend sitting outside, which is very romantic and a great alternative to the very noisy indoor setting."

"Everything about Oak Tavern was amazing. We ordered a couple of their specialty drinks, the green mile and moscow mule. Both were delicious. We started with a the heirloom tomatoes, steak tartar, and scallop crudo. They all were absolutely amazing. We then had the duck confit and yellow tail snapper for dinner. And finished with the fallen chocolate cake. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, with a great attention to detail by the staff. Our waitress was one of the best I have had in a very long time."

"Beautiful space with a nice wine selection. Good bar. Our server was a pleasure-very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Unique dishes-plenty of options. Bread served with Maple bacon butter is a nice touch. Tuna Poke and Bison carpaccio were standouts for us. We preferred the smaller plates to the larger dish we had.
Overall, nice experience."

"Went here on a Gilt City coupon. The food was delicious. I wish the scallop crudo was bigger. I could eat that all night. Also the Bahn Mi was delicious. I also had the lamb ribs. Awesome!
I guess we got there near the end of happy hour. My only thing was it was pretty loud in the restaurant. Not really an issue. If you expect it then it's not so bad.
But we plan to go back soon."

"While the food is good here, the service or actually the coordintation of the kitchen and the server is not. Ate here when the restaurant first opened for dinner and while the food was great, coordintation then was terrible. One appetizer came to the table as we were finishing our main entree. This time went for Sunday brunch, not a very busy time but still could not coordinate getting all the food on the table at even close to the same time nor were the orders prepared properly. This could be a great restaurant if someone took the time to oversee this basic issue."

"Oak Tavern was a fun restaurant. There was lots of energy there. Some dishes were better than others. Loved the duck pizza and the fava bean dish. The gnocchi was too heavy and the branzino should have had its thick bones removed at the table by the waiter. I will definitely go back and try some other dishes."

"I have never gone to a restaurant, enjoyed it so much, only to return to be so throughly disappointed. We went for Sunday brunch and it was horrible. The service was atrocious. Some of the food was ok, but a lot of it was inedible. YES. The grits were that bad and the cole slaw that came with my fried chicken was godawful. Plates came at the wrong time, the bloody mary I started off with was just not any good. I mean I could go on and on and on. The bread came super late and th corn bread was severely undercooked. This after having a very nice dinner only 2 months before."

"Let me start with drinks. The bartender was amazing. She was creative, knowledgeable, friendly; everything a great restaurant, and patron would want when trying someplace new. The friendly, attentive vib and service continued throughout our meal. The food was pretty good. Some dishes were outstanding like the BOQUERONES CROSTINI, WOOD GRILLED LEEKS and ROASTED BEETS. Others were very good. Great selection and I definitely would recommend the place."

"NOTICED THE CARPACCIO THINNER THAN PREVIOUS VISITS, MIXED CEVICHE EXCELLENT AS USUAL. HAD TO ASK FOR BISCUITS. WHOLE SNAPPER VERY GOOD BUT THOUGHT MORE INSTRUCTION SHOULD BE OFFERED BY SERVER FOR EATING, BACKBONE IN CENTER OF FISH. (WE WERE AWARE OF THIS BUT OTHER DINERS MAY NOT BE) BE BACK SOON"

"Oak tavern is an awesome new addition to the design district. The food was really amazing. All plates are based on the highest quality ingredients. We were a group of 4 and each had our own starter and main dish. We started off with the scallop crudo, tavern salad, roast beet salad, tomatoe salad and we shared the tuna poke. There was not one dish that we didnt love. The tuna was particularly delicious with its intense flavors and incredibly fresh tuna. For main dishes, two of us shared the branzino, the cobia and the lamb ribs. All 3 dishes were outstanding. The lamb comes with approximately 6 ribs and is quite rich. I would suggest sharing this with another lighter dish. Our experience was enhanced by our knowledgeable and funny waite"

"The first time I was here the food and service were wonderful so I was very excited to take out of town guests. At my second visit it could have been a totally different restaurant. The food and service were awful and it wasn't even busy. Totally disappointed, and I would NOT return or recommend to my friends and visitors."

"The atmosphere at The Oak is fantastic! There are mutiple spots for gathering and enjoying the incredible food; under the lantern-lit namesake oak in the charming courtyard, around the wooden communal table, up at the warmly-lit bar with the comfortable seats, in among the cozy low seating of the reclaimed-wood tall lights, or back on a comfy leather banquette booth.
And that's just the seating.
The food is amazing. The chef apparently makes a great deal of the charcuterie himself (see the sausages aging in the case in front of the open kitchen). You could live on the sides alone (pea salad, grilled corn), but then you would miss things like wood-fired duck pizza and bison carpaccio.
Don't miss this one!!"

"The first time we went we sat in the courtyard and had a VERY GOOD experience and wonderful waiter.
The second time we sat inside and it did not like it because of the noise and the waiter was MIA.
The interior are all hard services and everyone at our table complained of how loud it was. Add to the noise was a another element of loud music, huge communal table and people drinking at the bar. Speaking of the playlist it had segments of heavy jazz, then lovely Brazilian music, switch to rock & roll and then country.
Food very good but we did not enjoy the dinining experience and the noise and playlist.
We will come back but only if they gurantee a table in the courtyard."

"We really enjoyed Oak Tavern. The food is uniformly very good, and the service and atmosphere are great as well. It seems like no restaurant has survived in this space...curious since it is a lovely one. I hope Oak Tavern makes it. It surely deserves to."

"My friends and I, who have eaten at high-end restaurants in LA, SF and NY among other major cities, really enjoyed our experience at Oak Tavern. The food was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the bacon marmalade crostini and the variety of simple yet sophisticated options on the menu. We had a late reservation so the restaurant was on the emptier side, and the quietness further enhanced the ambience. The entire staff was accommodating and helpful in both assisting us with out selections and helping us get a cab late on a Sunday night. Even though we were the last guests still at the restaurant, they never made us feel rushed."

"Our group had a very nice time at Oak Tavern, and enjoyed sharing the small plates and trying a variety of delicious options. Many of the items we ordered were truly outstanding. The service needs to catch up to the food, however. Our waiter disappeared for great lengths of time, with no-one offering more drinks, fresh plates, or answering questions or requests."
