"Too noisy (even sitting next to one another hearing was challenging), too rushed (had little time to finish any one part of the meal before the next was set before us), too crowded (there were two in our party and yet the seats with the most room still left little room to move).
The pork was well done. The chicken moist and flavorful. The ribs were overcooked and hard despite their nice sauce. The sausage cheese fritters were moist, and tasty. The grits were the best I have had.

"We went on Mother's Day in a group of 8 people. We made the reservation for 12:00 noon but we were not seated until around 12:20. The food was just mediocre. I ordered some ribs, and I could have sworn that my home cooked ribs tasted far better. The ribs were a little tough and dried. Service was not so good either, as our table was kind of neglected. My drink was not refilled, and we waited again for awhile before we got our tab, after getting the attention of one of the servers/hostess. For the price that we were paying, we were expecting better service/food."

"We really enjoyed it. The food was really good. We had the chicken quarters and vegetables and it was delicious! Our kids had chicken fingers and a hamburger and they loved it. There was SO MUCH FOOD that we didn't leave hungry, and it was reasonably priced for what you got. We will definitely come again."

"The Stable Cafe is a good choice for lunch at Biltmore as you have many choices of very tasty food at reasonable prices in a fun setting. It is located next to the mansion, so schedule your reservation around when you plan to tour the house (consider 1/1/2 The Southern meal for two is so plentiful you cannot leave hungry or even consider dessert. Reservations are helpful."

"We were celebrating my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary and everyone was so nice to us. My parents were treated to a free dessert which they really enjoyed. The food was wonderful and the idea of sitting in the stables was quite fun. I was surprised how quiet it was in their considering how busy they were."

"We ate here twice while we visited the Biltmore..the food is excellent. You get to eat where the horse stable once was and it is huge!! The meat they use is raised there and the vegetables are all raised there on the Biltmore property. You get good quality and quantity for the price. We would go back!!"

"I love the fact that we ate IN an old horse stable. They even kept the old hay and water trough in our stable! The food was really great. Mom and I shared the veggie burger (homemade) with sweet potatoe fries and the soup of the day...all was wonderful! Great atmosphere, food, and service. I recommend!"

"The food and wait staff were great, but my group was not very happy when after waiting about 10 minutes to go up to the hostess to report for our 12noon reservations, we were told that we would have to wait because a lot of people had shown up that day. It didn't seem to matter that you had reservations, they just took people that didn't have reservations and that didn't allow them to take those of us who had reservations at our reservation time. If we had know that we would have not waited the 10 minutes for our assigned time to go up to the hostess."

"We have dined at the Stable Cafee several times but this was the worst. we ordered the Stable Cafee BBQ for two. The ribs were very small and extremely over cooked and tough, the Pork was dry and tasted a bit odd and the greens were tasteless.
We were quite disappointed. We had made reservations for the next day but because of the experience we did not return. We went to TGI Fridays instead."

"The Stable is more than likely a very busy place. It is close by outside of the Biltmore House. The food was above average for the number of people being served. Our waitress was very attentive. The Sampler Dessert was absolutely worthwhile and the Biltmore Reserve Cabernet wine was excellent. I was very glad that I made a reservation through Open Table. Even though there were lines of people waiting and given a pager, we were seated immediately after we told them our name. I say go for it this place is a keeper."

"Making a reservation at the Stable Cafe was the way to go! We arrived at the Biltmore around 9:30am, finished touring the house at 11:15am, went next door to the area outside the Stable Cafe and they took us in at 11:25am for our 11:30am reservation. It was perfect timing and the grand daughters were ready to eat since they had breakfast at 7am. Everyone with the restaurant was friendly, and wanted us to have an enjoyable experience. My fussy-eating grand daughters were able to find something on the menu and cleaned their plate."

"We had lunch on a busy Saturday. There were many people waiting for tables after their tour of the Biltmore house. When we told them we had a reservation they got us right in and seated. It was a full house and very busy and noisy but we had prompt service and we got the Stable Sampler for 2 and it was very good and it was more than enought food for 3 people. We would definetly eat their again if at the Biltmore."

"We had lunch at the Stable Cafe during our visit to Biltmore. We had a relatively early reservation at 11:15am and were one of a few parties there. The interior is nice especially if you like horses and we were able to secure a booth in a retrofitted stall. My horse-crazy daughter loved it. The menu was limited and the prices were on the high side. In fact, our total bill for two children and one adult, no drinks, was higher than any other meal we had during our Asheville stay. But it was part of the Biltmore experience and we enjoyed it. The food was well prepared and much of it comes from the estate farm/gardens. By the time we left, the restaurant was nearly full, and noisy."

"I chose to dine at Stable Cafe with my wife on our first trip to the Biltmore Estate, due to it's proximity to the Biltmore House, and the menu options looked very tasty and reasonably priced for a place like Biltmore. I was impressed from the start. The waiter's service was excellent, our entrees were brought to our table much sooner than I expected, and the food was wonderful... by far some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. I highly recommend the Stable Cafe Sampler. Our only regret is we didn't save room for dessert since we were so full from the wonderful lunch we had. We will be sure to save room for dessert on our next dining experience at Stable Cafe."

"The food was excellent. My husband and I didn't try anything we didn't like and we have tried several comparable restaurant during our travels. We were fascinated with the location and the decor. The only things that seemed out of place was the music. They were playing 70s and 80s music when they should have been playing either 20s or classical music. This would have completely set you back in time as you looked around at the stable and the iron works. We are definitely planning on going back."

"We had reservations for lunch and were seated quickly. Our table was close to the open kitchen and everything seemed to be very clean and well organized. It was pretty loud, but the place was packed! Our service was just okay. I think our server was covered up with other tables and we didn't get much attention from her; the manager bussed our plates for both appetizers and lunch. We had the bbq sampler and the food was pretty good. There was plenty for two people and we definitely got our fill. I would have liked to see more seasoning to the "dry rub" ribs. The side dishes were very good as was the chicken and bbq pork. Not a bad lunch."
