Agiato's rustic European style is inspired by restaurants found throughout Italy, Spain and France that create a casual atmosphere designed to promote and enrich the spirit of community.
Featuring 72 wines available by the glass, 13 rotating international draft beers, over 100 bottled beers, and a full bar focusing on classic cocktails and top shelf spirits.
"Food was skimpy, small antipasto's, small entrees. The quality of the meat was good, but not enough of it. We left the restaurant hungry. We had to ask for bread. When it came out it was only 5 small slices of a sour dough bread, not enough for the whole table. It was expensive for what we had eaten. This was anything but an Italian restaurant. Very hard to park. Not enough vegetables for a side. Improve your side dishes, offer more variety and offer enough. The sizes of the meat were o.k.. It was cooked the way we asked for. Only 1 fish entree offered on the menu. Fish is a healthy food, why not offer a second item like fillet of sole stuffed with a real crabmeat stuffing, not that phony stuffing."

"Thank you for the unexpectedly delicious pasta. I don't recall the name of the item but it was a twisted pasta in a wine sauce with vegetables. What I loved were the mushrooms and fiddlestick ferns. I chose the dish because of atypical, ingredients, such as fiddlestick ferns. And it was delicious. I will definitely return."

"Great wine list, outdoor seating, rustic interior. The food was good but portions are small. Food is slightly on the pricey side for what you get but not too far off the charts."

"Food was great - service was great, but they seem to be impacted by a slow kitchen night with erratic food delivery of the same type - for example - two slads at the same time and another one and olives 15 minutes later.
Also - the sound system had to much base and the music didn't fit the restaurant."

"This restaurant is unique! A fabulous wine, beer and mixed drink menu. The menu is reasonably priced and there are many standard items but also some unusual and remarkable items. There are vegetarian entrees as well as many meat and seafood choices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A great night out!"

"Food was ok, not bad but certainly not memorable. The cheeses we selected were surprisingly bland. My GF's lamb chops were cooked correctly, but had little flavor. The scallops I had were good, but as this is a "small plate" kind of place the two scallops on a bed of greens with a scattering of blood oranges for $18 seems like an appetizer at entree prices."

"the menu was great with a range of types of dishes, and many tempting options. The wine list is also good, with the option for 1,3 and 5 oz pours. The service fell off a bit - we were asked twice if we wanted to see a drinks menu (at a wine/beer bar!) before we got one."

"We recently dined at Agiato for the second time within a month. The second time, the food and drink were still great but the service was decidedly sub-par. The hostess gave us menus, but no wine list or beer & spirits list --which are essential for this place. No sign of our waitress, but a helper soon came offer us water, so we asked her for the lists. She said she would ask our waitress. How difficult would it have been for her to just bring us the lists? Our waitress didn't appear for at least ten minutes. We asked her for the lists, but she didn't bring them for another five minutes. The place wasn't very busy. Poor service marred what should have been a second great experience."

"The fried eggplant appetizer is amazing, wished I had ordered two. Cocktail list is great- I ordered the Flower Power (gin, elderflower, creme de violette and I dunno what else) and it was delightful. Both of our entrees were especially delicious. Extensive wine list, though I stuck with the hard stuff. Overall, this place was a great find for us and we will be back for sure."

"Agiato remains in my top 3 favorites in Philadelphia! The service can be slow sometimes, but the ambience & food/drink make up for it! It's a gem & I highly recommend it! I'd prefer classier music to go with the decor and vibe, but maybe that's a work in progress!"

"Three of us went to the restaurant and switched our plates for tastes tests. Everything was outstanding. The mushroom soup was the best I ever had. The osso buco melted in your mouth, the pasta and sausage dish in white wine sauce was incredibly delicious. We will definitely return to this neighborhood gem."

"Agiato is one the great little "finds" in Philadelphia. We were looking for a new place to go to with friends who share our appreciation for good food and drink. Agiato far exceeded expectations. The food is absolutely wonderful. The pork dish I had was best I ever had in my life. The other dishes our party ordered were also great. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The bar offerings are staggeringly diverse. I had a porter I'd never heard of that was outstanding. They have dozens of wines by the glass and a dozen beers on tap, as well as wines by the bottle and bottled beers, as well as an outstanding selection of spirits. Overall: definitely five stars!"

"Outstanding food served in regular sized portions - not huge like so many restaurants and priced accordingly. Good value, excellent wine list with opportunities to sample a 1 oz glass of wine for $1.00. Wines available by the glass in various sizes.
Waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. A great find! My daughter and I were pleased to have found this gem while visiting the area."

"Food is great. Wine and beer selection superb. Super nice and accommodating staff although quirkily slow at times. Great rustic ambience but be warned about the community seating which applies to about a third of the seats. To some this takes getting used to. But focus on the food. It is amazing."

"We had a really nice Valentines Dinner at Agiato. The service was really well coordinated and friendly. The food was exceptionally tasty and ample. We opted for a special Valentines dinner and had more than enough food in the five courses. Everything was beautifully presented. Nice job!"

"The best part of my dining experience at Agiato is that I was lucky enough to get street parking (w/ 30min on the meter) 1 block up from the "restaurant". We had a reservation, and when we were taken to our table (1 of the 6) by the bar I asked the hostess, "can we not sit here (12" from the next diners, but at the empty table behind table 23). She replied," that is for a reservation".,,I said, "then I will request 22 next time". Not sure WHY we were seated in the bar to begin with...but what Evs ..Service could NOT have been any slower....2apps, and we split an entree. We were there for 125min..no dessert..the excuse was kit got bckd up..56 resies on the books, and 22 when I was there.. i saw op tbl on the comp..this place Is a DUD!!!!"

"I have been here a few times and always get the same few items. I love the pasta with asparagus and a pink cream sauce...this time it was a little heavy on the sauce but it was still delicious. I generally get the seafood dish with clams, lobster, scallops, etc. but due to weather they did not get their seafood delivery. Which only proves how FRESH it is-so I took that as a good thing. The veggie soup was AMAZING...little kick to it-YUM!
Also, total side note...I left my wallet on the table. I was having one of those days. When my boyfriend picked it up for me a little while later it was totally intact and the servers were so helpful and sweet.
Great place with happy and helpful staff! :)"

"Long story short, the food was fantastic but our server was extremely ignorant and completely ignored our table when we did not order drinks (one of my roommates is not of age yet). It was disappointing because if our server had even been slightly more attentive, I would have given Agiato five stars."

"I would give Agiato a qualified recmmendation. Agiato used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the quality of the food and the experience seems to have declined with the expansion of the menu. Agiato previously excelled at all segments of a more limited menu. The new entrees are good but not up to the quality of the previous menu, and the overall dining experience doesn't cohere as it did before. The choice of paninis is also much more limited now, and Agiato removed what I thought were some of the best paninis from the new menu. The service was also a bit slow and inattentive. I hope that Agiato can pull it together to its previous level of quality."

"Good food, but not excellent, befitting the prices.
The duck, though interesting, was not cooked medium rare as explained, but was a grayish medium well. The goat cheese & beet salad was very good--toasted slivered almonds made it pop.
A note about their wine policy--when you call or stop in, they say they're BYO. But the server said that they're no longer BYO, but that the owner accepts bottles without a fuss or a corkage fee. Still, the conversation was awkward. When I asked to see their wine list for future reference, the server explained that there will soon be many additions. Nonetheless, there was hardly a bottle for less than $60 (for a recent vintage), and most were $80+, so I doubt we'll be back for a casual dinner soon."

"Arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. Food didn't arrive until close to 9:00. Obviously, there was a problem in the kitchen. Gordon Ramsey would have thrown a fit. The white wine list consists of 4 wines, a 5 ounce pour for the wine I finally decided on was $34 a glass, really? Needless to say, I did not drink last night and not only saved over 330 calories, but $75 as well.... we eat out often & drink great wine, how Agiato justifies their wine prices leaves us bewildered. Obviously the owners prefer beer & red wine, red glasses are pricey as well, beer is reasonable, as is the food. The bruschetta was fair but the salad & spinach pasta were very good. Perhaps these set backs are growing pains.Disappointing. We were so hopeful."

"Food was great. But, we waited half an hour (standing) for our 9:00 p.m. reservation. Our party of 4 was seated at what was really a group table for 8, "separated" by a vase of flowers from the next party of 4. It so happened that they were extraordinarily loud and kind of obnoxious. So, I would go back, but only with a party of 2 (to get a more private two-top table, or a party of 8 to get the whole communal table."

"I have been going to Agiato since it opened and have always enjoyed it, but was some what dissapointed with the food this time. The white bean dip was cold and not as flavorful. The presentation was lacking. Would have been better warmed a bit with a good drizzle of extra virgin olive and a few olives, spread flat on a larger plate. The duck confit salad was excellent! My pasta was under-cooked and came swimming in a pool of brown butter. It would have been better just seared with a little of the butter and served in a small amount of broth."

"This was our 3rd visit to Agiato. We went back for the delicious food. The service is inconsistent. This time we had the hostess just point towards our table. We were surprised that the wine leist had changed and now only one of their red wine bottles was under $100. We thought that was pricey for considering the poor inconsistent service and the OK decor."
