Sebastian’s Hideout is one of Springfield’s premier fine dining destinations. Located in the heart of historic downtown within blocks of the Hilton & President Abraham Lincoln Hotel and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Sebastian’s offers an oasis from the stuffy big city fine dining with a friendly professional staff and central Illinois pricing. An award winning wine list is offered to compliment the “French fusion” cuisine styles of Chef John Kidd. We invite you to call us directly for reservations or to book your next event in our private room.
"We had a great waitress who was very friendly, made some great suggestions for dinner and was very timely with her service. I would highly recommend them for a nice romantic dinner."

"We were in Springfield and researched where to go. This came up as best choice. Our waiter was great, patient and pleasant. The tuna appetizer and beet salad get 4 stars. Dinner was less successful. Best was the tuna--flavorful with sesame crust. The presentation was lovely. I would have preferred the tuna rare, but waiter said they serve med. rare so I went with it. The scallops and ribeye specials seemed overpriced. The short ribs seemed dry rather than juicy. So our evening was nice but not spectacular. It seemed expensive for Springfield--I eat similar meals for less in St Louis."

"My wife and I went on Good Friday at 7:00 and the restaurant was nearly empty, so it's hard to say how the ambiance and service would be when more crowded. We shared the butternut squash soup (which was outstanding) and my wife had the salmon while I had the duck duo. Both of our main courses were very good, and the portions were large enough that we both skipped dessert. Both meals were accompanied by nicely prepared vegetables. The duck duo had both sliced duck breast with a simple sauce and a duck leg confit. I thought the sauce on the confit was just a bit heavy with the spices, but still very good and I finished every bit."

"Food was good--just not amazing. Service was good, but nothing special. It is a very dark place with blood red wall, so the atmosphere was a bit depressing. Just needs that "something special" to take it from a good restaurant to a great one."

"Would be nice if there were just a couple "regular" items available for children such as chicken strips , mac n cheese or something. My daughter decided to simply have a salad, but there wasn't any traditional dressing, like ranch, french... She ended up eating the bread and a bowl of potatoe puree at our celebration dinner.
It was still an enjoyable time, great environment and wonderful service."

"Celebrating my daughter passing the CPA exam, we drove to Springfield to take her out. She had been here before. Food: both of their meat entrees were excellent, my crab cake was excellent, my meat entree was somewhat disappointing. Service: very nice, not overbearing but there when needed. Ambiance: I have been looking all over St Louis for seating like this, would make for a wonderfully romantic date, nice dimmed lighting, nice booths, if it had higher partitions between the booths would be perfect for a romantic dinner. Still is very nice! Will most certainly return!"

"Well, I really wanted to like this place. Our server was so nice, but not very knowledgeable about the food or how food is cooked. She was on the drink orders though, so she was tipped adequately (20%). Apparently crab cakes cook in this kitchen in about 3 minutes. I thought the kitchen was magical until I realized they were cold in the middle. The entrees were pretty good. The most concerning thing is that it was Friday night and NO ONE was there! Perhaps others know more than we did going in. We probably won’t go back soon even though we eat out several times a week."
