"I've been to this restaurant about five times now. The food and service are always great. The bar is fun, but always packed -- it's too small for a restaurant that draws a consistent crowd. The restaurant itself is always good, but the main dining area can get very loud -- conversation can be a challenge."

"We are new to Atlanta area. A good friend introduced us to McKendrick's Steakhouse - we had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant the first time and the last 3 times we went back. The service is excellent. The food is incredibly delicious! All around, this is one of my very favorite restaurants - and we've been to many over the years and around the country."

"My husband took me here for Mother's Day. We were greeted by a very nice young man who Valet Parked our car (complimentary) . We were running late due to an interstate stoppage, but the hostess greeted us with a pleasant smile and a warm welcome. Our server (Antonio) was top notch. My Swordfish was tender and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Prime Rib, which was huge and done exactly as he had ordered. The Lobster Mashed Potatoes were creamy and topped with deliscious hunks of lobster meat. McKendrick's is a bit pricey, but well worth the dining experience."

"Truly one of the best restaurants not only in Atlanta but the US. Everything we order, time again is always perfect! We just returned from a week in NYC, of dining, theater and shopping. Not one restaurant in NY approached the quality, the preparation, the service and especially the ambience ofvMcKendricks. If you enjoy steak...it is exceptionally tender, flavorful with mild char. Seafood, salads, sides are also great. The bartender really knows how to make a proper Manhattan or Martini... And the servers and staff are all excellent. Wines list is extensive, but by the glass offerings are also excellent. This is just a great dining experience and gets better with age!"

"Food here is excellent without a doubt. Certainly expensive. Nice atmosphere. But the service needs tweaking. Several of the items we ordered were out and out forgotten. The waiter spilled my wife's water on my coat, which was forgiven, but then had to be asked to come back and fill her glass which remained empty for 15 minutes. Another example: we asked for coffee with our desert but it never came, and after we had finished our desert, we were ready for the check and didn't even mentioned it. Cheesecake is better with coffee."

"The steaks were awesome, but even though the food was good, the experience was not positive. We complained that they had the AC turned up too high as everyone in our party and others in the restaurant were freezing, but they just did not listen. Our waiter was not attentive and when you are paying over $50 per person for dinner, he should be! We arrived and expected bread to be brought to the table in a timely fashion. I asked for it again and again as everyone was hungry, but the bread did not come until the appetizers arrived and that defeated the purpose."

"Very good for business lunches or business group dinners. Amazing steaks. I have been there many times taking clients. Big wine list and a vey big bar. Classy icon / staple in the Dunwoody area. Only around 25 miles from the Atlanta airport in case people have to catch late flights after dinner."

"We go to McKendrick's a few times a year, when I must have THE perfect steak! McKendrick's is well-known for their steaks, and I really admire a restaurant that can give me a medium-rare filet that is warm in the middle! On a recent visit I had the appetizer special: fried oysters (you must try them--delicious!), caesar salad, 8 oz filet, and two sides: garlic-parmesan french fries, roasted okra. Everything was wonderful. Service is impeccable, and it is a real delight to watch their attention to diners. Wine list was very good, and the bar makes excellent martinis. The only negative: The portions of the sides, meant to be shared, are really too big for two people; smaller options would be nice!"

"My boyfriend and I originally had reservations for Fogo de Chao, but they messed up our reservations and with a quick google search for a steakhouse McKendrick's popped up first. Within 5 minutes we had reservations for 30 minutes later and that was the greatest mistake a restaurant has ever made for me. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding, we will definately be dining at McKendrick's Steakhouse again. We had already dubbed Ruth's Chris as our place for a romantic dinner on date night but after the first 15 minutes at McKendrick's they had been replaced. This is a restaurant that everyone should experience at least once in life."

"The food was delicious and very graciously served but somewhat overpriced. The noise level was high due to the number of groups around us. The Mater D (Mark) and our Waiter (Jeff) were both very gracious and excellent. We will return, but not frequently due to the cost and noise level. "The occasion was my granddaughter's 18th birthday. The prices were high, the service haughty. I had the NY strip which was tough and sinewy. My granddaughter had the filet which was better. The sides were much too large, intended to be shared by two people. That's ok as long as both want the same thing. Should be an option to reduce the size and price. Overall, just an average meal."

"First of all, let me say that my favorite steakhouses are Chops and Bones. I expected this steakhouse to be on par with those. That was far from the experience I had here. Our waiter was not very helpful. I asked him 2 times to recommend some entrees and each time he just repeated what was on the menu. Next, it took forever to get our food. The waiter never once asked us if we wanted anything else, more bread.... he didn't address the fact that we were sitting there hungry. After we finally got our food, it was even worse! The risotto was so bland, barely edible, the creamed corn the same. Awful! Grouper was average. I had to add extra salt and pepper to everything. Definitely won't be returning here."

"We asked for a private area to have a celebration with our party of 10, and they put us in the first table behind the hostess stand in the main traffic area. We had called weeks in advance and the hostess said that was the best they could do when we got there. (Very rude hostesses), also no imput from the manager to make it better.
I love the food and service (Paul was great), and it saved the experience since this is one of my favorites. But i would not recommend them for a party or celebration occasion."

"I took my Wife for what I hoped to be a quite anniversary dinner. Big mistake, it was very loud. We ended up listening to the conversation for the guests who were seating next to us because they were really LOUD.

"We went to dinne to celebrate my sons birthday. He choose the restaurant and we were not dispappointed. the food was great, especially the steaks and mushrooms. We ordered drinks, tomatoe bisque and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was very good with the special of the day, th etomatoe being just good. We all ordered steaks, ribeyes and KC cut. All were fabulous. The side dishes are huge so we shared. We ordered mushrooms, baked potato, asparugus, and escaloped potatoes. The mushrooms were fabulous with the other dishes being very good.
They did provide my son a birthday desert which he liked so mush that he hardly shared.
The only negative for McKendricks is it is expensive. With tip & tax we spent over $75 per person."

"Loved the atmosphere and the food. The environment was casual enought hat I didn't have to up, but at the same time the air was that of an incredibly upscale restaurant. The general manager continually checked up on me and even engaged me in regular conversation. The food recommendations were spot on and the wines were amazing."

"We yet again found ourselves celebrating a special family occasion at McKendrick's.
We were celebrating my son's 15th birthday and he is a fan of the restaurant! We were seated as promised in a nice banquette, and our favorite waiter, Dee, was a surprise. Salads were scrumptious. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the brussell sprouts were divine!

This place is in our opinion a tried and true favorite. Rarely have we ever had an issue with food or service, whether it be my wife and I for an intimate evening, or a group of over 25."

"McKendricks is a bit pricey, and is therefore better suited to special occasions. I noticed, though, that I was one of fewer than a dozen women in a busy restaurant at 6:30 pm."

"We went to McKendricks for my birthday. Most of the staff were exceptionally friendly. The only one who was not was our waiter, but he wasn't rude, just not as friendly. I ordered the crab cocktail, the ribeye and the lobster mashed potatoes. I'll start with the potatoes. I've ordered these in other places and they come with tiny pieces of lobster that are almost impossible to identify. Not here. Here the potatoes were topped by large chunks of lobster and both parts were amazingly good. My ribeye was to die for, though too much food for me so we got to have leftovers too. My husband got the caprese salad, a fillet and the okra. The first two were very good (mine were better), the okra was ok, but you would have to really love okra."

"The restaurant was out of the crab-cake appetizer so we ordered the barbeque shrimp appetizer. The shrimp had a good flavor, but were slightly overdone - therefore rubbery. I ordered the ribeye cooked medium thinking that it would tend to be cooked slightly less than medium (most high-end restaurants prepare meats slightly less than the doneness specified). The steak came out cooked med-well, which would have been terrible except that it was such a high quality steak - therefore retained its juicyness, tenderness and flavor despite the overcooking. The side of mushroom risotto was excellent, as was the okra. All food was brought to the table piping hot and freshly prepared. Wine list and bread were both exceptional."

"My husband and I dined on Filet Center Cut, New York Strip and Broccoli. The filet was cooked as requested which was a delight. The New York Strip had a lot of marbling and cooked as ordered. The Steamed Broccoli was fresh and not over cooked. We had appetizers and desert and were happy with our choices. Service was top notch. It was our first time dining at McKendrick's Steakhouse. I can’t say I am a big fan of charring the outside of steaks but overall we were not disappointed."

"McKendrick's never fails to please. A meal at McKendrick's is not just eating, but a dining experience. Their food is always delicious, well presented and a delight to eat. This Easter Sunday they had several wonderful specials that were not just delicious, but very reasonably priced."

"Took my dad to McKendricks for his 80th birthday and they did not disappoint. Everything was excellent and more, especially the service and the wine list. As his birthday fell on Good Friday, we ate seafood, which was delicious. Our waiter brought a slice of their delicious ice cream cake with a candle for dad for dessert which was again, delicious. It was also very quiet there due to the holiday and that we dined early.
McKendricks is a wonderful restaurant. Why travel to Buckhead for Chops, The Palm or Bones when you have this gem in Dunwoody? It is at least comparable, if not better in every aspect. You won't be disappointed."
