"Great food, great service, beautiful view. Had not been there for several years because of not so good experiences, but Groupon prompted me to give it another try. So glad I did. Very pleased with the simple grilled King salmon, good wine, JJ's service was perfection & Sam the bartender was super friendly ~ professional, friendly, fun! Will definitely go back."

"Came here with wife and two days later with business partners and both times the food was excellent . Had the Cos one day and Halibut the next. Must say both we're cooked to perfection . Moist and tender like fish should be cooked. Service was very attentive and friendly but not to hovering."

"Ponti holds fond memories for us. We've been returning several times a year since our wedding there 14 years ago.Made reservation for a Tuesday. Ponti had a really BAD day! We ordered a drink/wine, which was not served until after our entrees. My husband's martini was served without vermouth! The server said people don't like vermouth so they omit it. Really? The caesar had too much cheese and the romaine on one of the salads was limp and lifeless. We ordered the halibut since it was fresh from Alaska. It arrived overcooked and tasteless. My husband asked 3 separate times for lemon, which finally came. The best? The asparagus served with the fish. A costly meal ruined with over done food and sloppy waitstaff. Your standards are slipping.."

"We sat outside and enjoyed the view over the ship canal. It was beautiful and peaceful. There were others outside, but it was quiet enough to chat easily and we weren't disturbed by anyone. The food was delicious! We saw several dishes that we would like to try in the future, as we would definitely go back for dinner!"

"Ponti's never disappoints, we've been to dinner here over the past 8 years and it always stays consistent. Favorites include the Penne pasta with scallops, Short ribs, seafood stew and grilled salmon and halibut specials. For dessert we had the lemon cheesecake and the chocolate cake with was ample to share between two people. The staff is always friendly even if they are busy.
The view always vibrant with boats going up and down the canal. This is truly a neighborhood gem!"

"Appetizers- ahi poke- serving is too small, but wonton chips are top notch ; calamari was salty
Main dinner- tuna wrapped in nori was good ; smoked black cod was very tasty, except that there was 4 bones, I almost choked into.

"Always a favorire for outdoor dining when the weather is right. The Thai Penne Pasta is to die for, great wines, and the ship canal and Fremont bridge right there.

"Our wait time for drinks, bread and food were extremely long even though the restaurant was not crowded. I watched several couples around us receive their drinks and first course while we waited and waited for just some bread even though we had ordered before these folks. The water refills were plentiful. It was also my boyfriends birthday. I had noted this info on my reservation in hopes that the wait person would surprise him with a token dessert. I decided not to mention the birthday event to the wait person at the end of the evening because we were already disturbed at how the evening had gone. We were the last to leave because we again had a long wait for the bill."

"Using only sustainable seafood, this dining establishment sets itself a high standard. Located in Lower Freemont, just across the Freemont Bridge and right next to the ship canal, this local favorite has both excellent seafood, but also a great and ever changing view of ships, pleasure craft and people passing by. The seafood is fresh and the presentation wonderful. A short, but diversified wine list rounds out the menu. Valet parking makes it ok as parking can be tricky."

"My husband and I waited 20 minutes just to get a drink order, beer and glass of wine, another 2o minutes later we got them. Our server took our order and while we waited a long time for dinner, we at least had our drinks, so all was ok. We both had the Ahi Tuna, which was prepared fabulously, the side vegetables came whole and hard to cut thru bc of being undercooked. Mash potatoes were bland. The wasabi for the Ahi was bland, like mayo, need more wasabi . Server never came asked how dinner was, when I finally flagged her down to ask for pepper, wasabi and huband had been out of beer forever. After dinner, she literally drops dessert menus in front of us, not saying a word. Didn't ask if we were interested in dessert.

"The seafood stew was delicious. The beet salad was perfect. We enjoyed the meal and the view is special. They ran out of bread, we had 5:00 reservations, we would have liked the bread to mop up the last bit of the stew. We still enjoyed it and will go back."

"We recently enjoyed a meal on the deck at Ponti and it excellent. There were some new menu items that we tried both were winners. The coconut seafood stew with turmeric basmati rice was especially good. All the shellfish were perfectly cooked and the broth was sublime. The smoked paprika rubbed cod was a great dish as well. The cod was cooked through but not overcooked and the smoke paprika added a nice flavor to each bite. For the quality the price was quite good. Our entrees were in the 20-25 dollar range and portion size was plenty for us even without appetizers or dessert."

"We arrived on a very busy Saturday evening but were seated right on time. Our waiter was very professional and friendly, and our table was by the window where the view is wonderful - even on a rainy night. The kitchen was very accommodating as we asked to have a few of the preparations varied from the menu, and the food was excellent. The halibut was fresh and prepared perfectly while the Thai Curry Penne was as delicious as all the reviews say. We will definitely plan on a return in the summer to enjoy the patio."

"Great location on the water but we weren't seated in the main dining room so couldn't see the water and felt like we were in a small private dining or banquet room. The service was excellent. In terms of the food, I'll start off by saying this restaurant is not for vegetarians because there was only 1 entree and a couple of salads and sides that were vegetarian. The food was okay. The lettuce in the caesar salad was not dried after being washed so all the water diluted the flavor of the dressing and made it bland. The risotto entree was delicious but undercooked so a bit chewy rather than creamy, and soft. Overall, a nice place, but can't recommend it for vegetarians in particular. I expect, however, their seafood dishes are better."

"Halibut had just come into season when we dined at Ponti so it was the perfect choice, Well prepared and presented over a bed of risotto with spring peas, it was a delicous dish. Service was a little haphazard but we were taken care of and would definetly go back. The restaurant was holding a wine tasting in the bar area so they shuttled us to a back room for "Happy Hour". The ambience could have been better and when they suggestd we just stay there for dinner, I declined asking for the table we had reserved in the main dining room. They obliged and we had a lovely view."

Food was well prepared, but simple. The black cod was perfect, rich and caramely skin on perfectly buttery fish. I wasn't too wowed by any of the other dishes, though. Suitable wine list, strong martinis. Bartender was slow and the wait staff was a tad forgetful by the end of the meal, but both were extremely pleasant and accommodating. It felt like an Anthony's Homeport with smaller portions but a better view."

"My friends and I were happy that the entire menu was available for restaurant week. We enjoyed everything we ordered, the halibut was especially great. The service was just right for a group of 4 who hadn't seen each other in a long time rarely stopped talking long enough for the waiter to get a word in. I have an extensive wine cellar so I bring wine to most of my dinners. I was a disappointed that the corkage fee was $25 per bottle and wasn't even reduced for the second bottle. They did take good care of my wine, decanting the cabernet, greatly appreciated. We closed the place down and never felt rushed to leave. Wonderful evening, thank you, Ponti and JJ."

It is one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle not only because of the food and service but also because, as hearing impaired, it is one of the few places that we have found where the background noise level is sufficiently low to allow us to have a conversation."

"1) The tastes of sauces were wonderful: compliments to chef Alvin. However, the meats of the mussels were way too small. there are much bigger mussels freely available now. why not use those Penn cove mussels?
2) Portion size. The portion was more than enough for extra cost item like Halibut and it tasted great, but it was way too small for the seafood stew when there was no extra charg.
3) Our server needs better training. Neobody removed the menus from our table. Took server forever to fetch the desserts even though we only needed them to go.
4) restaurant & silverware need to be updated after 20 years."

"We went there for the first time. The food was good. I had king salmon but don't forget to ask for medium because it could comes out dry. I heard a table next to me complained about their dry salmon. My boyfriend ordered black cod and she loved it. our server was not the best, I don't think she even introduced herself. She never smile when she was at our table except for when she dropped off the check. It took her awhile to come back to pick up the check after she dropped it off. The restaurant was not even busy when we were there at 10pm.
we will go back to try it again to see if a different server is better.

"We had a very nice dinner. We celebrated my husband's birthday and made a very early dinner reservation, given that we brought our children, ages 5 and 7. We sat by the window, and the kids were entertained by boats and ducks during the course of our 2 hour dinner, which helped them to stay in their seats and remain well behaved. It was even a nice view on a rainy day. They have a children's menu as well, but I think my kids enjoyed the ice cream in a cookie basket more than anything. We had the cheese plate and my husband ordered spring rolls, which he said were great. He also had the king crab, which he loved. I had the salmon. We had very nice service in a very nice setting and were very pleased with our expeirence."
