Zaika offers an appetizing array of India’s regional cuisine, including signature dishes from Bombay and Goa, as well as vegetarian specialties from the south. A delicious complement to the main dishes, the traditional Naan bread, baked in the tandoor oven, is given extra flavor with garlic and fresh butter, spices, dried fruits and more.
"We dined outside which was lovely. The food is quite good - not the best Indian I've had, but good. Prices are a bit higher than you'd expect but not totally unreasonable. Great service. If you're going on the weekend, definitely make a reservation. If you park in the garage they validate which makes it only 3 bucks for up to 2 hours."

"This place is packed. Its ambience is standard, but traditional Indian paintings, musical instruments, or ethnic attire are missing. The only thing that is Indian apart from the food is the faintly heard Bollywood background music. It's weird to be sitting next a glass wall, where you can see other diners. But because it tends to attract an Anglo crowd, there aren't many other options to sit.
The Bombay fish curry was fresh and flavorful, with excellent cilantro garnish and authentic taste. The mango lassi was decent.
However, the hakka noodles left much to be desired, with its green onions that needed more chopping. Also, I asked for only shrimp hakka noodles and they gave me the full seafood combo of calamari, etc. which was a turn-off."

"I took my wife to a Mother's day buffet in which we found the food very tasty and the staff pleasant. We definitely plan to return to Zaika at some point in the future."

"We tried Zaika for the first time last week-end and were pleased overall. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was delicious. Our server was good about making mild menu suggestions fit for kids who do not like spicy food. The nan was hot and fluffy and every single dish we ordered was satisfactory. Great find, we will be back."

"We always love Zaika. The one criticism I have is that their tables for 2 are right on top on one another, so it can be difficult to have a private discussion and distracting to hear your neighbors. Food and service are always great!"

"Food was good. My comment is on the server's communication skills. He was nice and helpful however, his level of English comprehension caused some problems. Each time he claimed he understood our request but he actually hadn't. In my opinion it is okay (specially in ethnic restaurants) if the server is lacking a degree in English however, they should be trained to ask for clarification when in doubt because otherwise it is frustrating for the customers. Also, I hate it when they try to up-sell and say something like "let me bring you a basket of bread" (see menu $8.99) just like offering a free give away. This just turns me off."

"We have been going to this restaurant every since it opened as Tandori Nights, and were very concerned when it changed ownership and became Zaika. There are many Indian restaurants but not many that are exceptionally good and we rated Tandori as one of the best in the area. We have found from experience when a restaurant that is really good changes hands it rarely maintains the same standards and quality of food. We were delighted to find that everything at Zaika is still as good as it was under the previous ownership and will continue to frequent this restaurant."

"I would've given it four stars but the service was terrible. We were seated in a corner two top table where the waiter had to talk to us from the railing below us because he wouldn't squeeze by the table right next to us. Thus, we were neglected with refills numerous times. Our waiter was difficult to understand and he neglected us (not to mention another waitress noticed but ignored us as well.) We had to flag him down for our check and then he forgot to apply the LivingSocial deal. The paying of the bill was another issue in itself. We had a $40 deal but only spent $38 pretax. He said that we were losing two dollars. I said I didn't care and that I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. He then said we owed a penny. How odd.
The food"

"A bit expensive and not the traditional American Indian restaurant. The dishes were presented in a unique way on sizzling plates which looked nice but wasn't necessary for the price. Overall, I would go back there but its not a ongoing go to spot."

"Zaika (fka Tandoori Nights) is a personal favorite and was a great spot for a small 40th birthday celebration. The food is delicious - their crispy spinach app. rivals that of the downtown restaurants. Bonus, we were able to bring in an outside dessert without any problem. Highly recommend!"

"Zaika turned out to be a perfect choice for my girlfriends to catch up over some good Indian food. Although we had a little trouble finding the restaurant (hidden on the upper floor of retail stores and with signs using the restaurant's old name), it was great space once we walked in the door. The patio would also be great in warmer temps. Our waiter was very attentive yet patient with us so we could have a leisurely dinner. He helped us with our selections since none of us is well versed in the various dishes/spices/sauces. Overall, the food was reliably good - not spectacular except for the Aloo Chat Papri appetizer we all loved -- and the overall experience was just what we wanted. We'll def go again!"

"First time to this restaurant under new ownership (previously Tandoori Nights). Food was very good and at reasonable but not cheap prices.
My particular favorite at lunch was the appetizer Raj Kachori. I had just come back from India a few weeks ago where I first tried Raj Kachori and have tried to find something similiar back in US. The one served at Zaika was nearly as good as what I had in India."

"The staff were very polite and helpful here. However, on this Sunday that I went, the restaurant seemed to be full of crying children and old people with hearing aids who needed to shout."

"Waiters are very attentive and ours was especially nice and accommodating. The staff as a whole came across as newly trained, but that may have to do with the recent ownership transition. The food was good but nothing special; it came out fairly quickly. Four stars for service."

"this was my second time at Zaika. I had been there before when it was Tandoori Nights. I felt quality of food and service had considerably improved from the past 'ownership'. I really enjoyed their food, spicy without excessively hot, and caring service without hovering over. I would recommend this highly."
