"Dining early on a Saturday is not the optimal time for this late-night restaurant and music venue. We had the dining room to ourselves at 6:00 p.m. The service was wonderful (good luck, Katie! Hope you book "In the Heights") and the food was quite good. I bet the place is rockin' at midnight!"

"Novel Cafe is a good place to go if you are looking for something to eat before a concert or other event. Prices are amazingly low and the menu has something for everyone."

"great food, good prices, friendly service (the waiter was definitely new, but was clearly putting a lot of effort into doing a good job and it showed). They serve bottomless mimosas by the pitcher, which is great since it allows you to enjoy your meal without having to flag the waiter down for every refill."

"We had dinner at the Novel Cafe before going to the Wiltern Theatre. The food was very good and the service was wonderful. We will recommend to others and come again."

"When we arrived, they did not have the reservation correct (7pm for 8 people. The confirmation email was correct). They told us that we would need to wait an additional half hour for our table. When they did have room for us, they took us into the bar and sat us at a small coffee table with sofas/chairs around it. Much too small for 8 people and so loud! They said that if you reserve on Opentable that it automatically reserves for the bar area, not the restaurant. We asked them to move us to the restaurant since we weren't informed that was the case and they said all of the big tables were taken, so they'd have to split us up; 4 and 4 at a table. So we gave in and just sat. Not a positive experience at all and won't be back."
