The valet (complimentary) is in front of Bar Mirabeau and there will be a hostess that will escort our guests to Restaurant Jezebel (which is really a restaurant within a restaurant).
Restaurant Jezebel requires credit card information for all reservations on Fridays, Saturdays, and for any party with 4 or more guests. Parties that cancel less than 24 hours before their reservation or fail to show up for their reservation will be charged $100 per guest.

"We were celebrating our 37th anniversary. This was our first experience at Jezebel and were a little uncertain of its format. We enjoyed our food choices and the food preparation/presentation. The chef gave us a special treat of any anniversary dessert which we enjoyed and was very thoughtful.
We were the first patrons at the restaurant that evening. Out table was right in front of the door and very noisy each time the door opened. We asked our first waiter for a table change and he did not accommodate, to us indicating all the tables were spoken for. We repeated the request to the second waiter and were given a table change. As it turns out the restaurant had two unfilled tables at the evening end."

"An audacious chef who is more interested about making a statement than welcoming guests. The food was Medicare and the SLOW service including bringing entrees se.parately ( each guest served at a different time including a twenty minute wait) and acknowledgement of such terrible service when offered desserts on the house were. Never delivered. ( we waited thirty minutes to behold the chef was still making them. One of the WORST establishments offered on Opentable. Please.review my previous reviews to realize I normally am not a harsh critic! I love food too much"

"The food was good but not for the price. The custom dishes were not as creative as they could have been. We had elk, which as a hunter I know what elk tastes like- not even close. But the sauces were exceptional and complimentary to the meat. There are 8 tables in the restaurant and we were the only ones there for 1 hour. When no one else is in the restaurant the service is good."

"Every single detail about this place was phenomenal. The setting was intimate and cozy. (Literally the table has eight tables and they do a single seating per night.) The service was attentive but not overly so. If you're adventurous with food and have any sort of special occasion this is the place to go. I'm a complete foodie and I loved this experience."

"The dining experience at Restaurant Jezebel is not a typical one. Instead of making selections from a menu, the server will ask you about food allergies and certain taste preferences, after which, you will select either a four course or seven course meal. Based upon this information, the chef will create your dinner. Expect a variety of tastes; and expect to taste something new.
The food and service at Restaurant Jezebel were excellent; although sometimes the gap between courses felt a bit long. I think this is the nature of this type of dining experience. We were the first party seated and were informed that the table was ours for the evening. Savor the experience slowly; and make sure you can entertain yourselves."

"Overall the food was quite good and the service was phenomenal in an over-the-top, white-glove (i.e. not done in Austin) way. However, the restaurant touts itself as creating a culinary experience that takes into account customers' food preferences (and allergies). While they did a great job of not serving meats that members of our party didn't eat, they did not understand our wheat/gluten-free request. They brought the two wheat-eating members of our party whole grain dinner rolls and the other two "white bread" (refined wheat); we were also given the choice of buckwheat blinis or white bread (again) with the caviar; and the dessert contained flour. Partway through the evening, we gave up and decided to deal with the after-effects."

"We had the pleasure of dining at Jezebel this weekend and it was absolutely incredible. I have eaten at all of the fine dining spots in Austin and this is by far the best restaurant in the city. The food was beautiful, the service was impeccable, and the wine...it was perfect. We will be back. The chef is a magician. If you have not been, go. It's worth every penny. Best dining experience we have had in Texas and on par with the best of San Francisco, LA, and NYC. The art and atmosphere was great too."

"The food was good, but way too basic and way overpriced. Our first course had a raspberry chipotle sauce. C'mon. I can buy raspberry chipotle sauce at Costco. The second course had a thai chili sauce, which was very good, but far from unique. The chef needs to experiment with ingredient combinations that you can't find anywhere and everywhere. There are plenty of places in Austin where you can get a better meal for a much better price."

"Amazing dinner! My husband and I celebrated our 12th anniversary and it is definitely the most romantic restaurant I've been to in Austin. Very intimate setting with only 8 tables, superb service, and a chef-prepared meal customized to your preferences you won't forget. Definitely recommend the 4-course dinner with wine pairings... plenty of food and it was fun to try a variety of wines. Even though it was jacket required, my husband wore a sports jacket with nice dark blue jeans and was fine. All the beautiful small touches made it a great experience. We took home coffee cakes prepared by the chef for the morning, and the valet provided us with water bottles for the ride home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

"My only complaint is that dinner took over 4 hours. I know this was part of the experience but by the end I was ready to leave. Lots of nice touches, like muffins for the next day, bottled water for the ride home, etc. The chef was very accommodating to our fussy palette and for the first time I did not feel like I was missing out because I didn't care for a certain ingredient. I REALLY liked the warm olive products. Everything was polished, professional and pleasing :)"

"We had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Jezebel. We watched two full candles burn down while we ate and drank and enjoyed good conversation. The Sommeiler was wonderful and the wine choices with the seven-course pairing were memorable. This said, this was easily the most money we have ever spent for a meal ($800 for 2 w/tip). I suppose we could have opted for the 5-course, but at these dollar levels, we figured we would never repeat the experience. The food was inventive, but not THAT good. The problem with charging these extreme prices is that everything has to be perfect in order for it to be fully appreciated. We agreed that the wine pairings were probably worth the price, but the food did not quite live up to the price tag."

"It was very romantic. Candlelight was a nice touch. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. All tables face the kitchen, my husband doesn't care but I enjoy that. The chef truly will customize your meal. We were unhappy with one of the courses and they immediately replaced it with something else. We tried kangaroo for the first time, very tasty. I think it is a great place for a special occasion if you don't mind spending a whole lot of money. We went with the 7 course and wine pairing $$$$$. It was our 10 yr anniversary so we said what the heck.. in retrospect We would have went with the 4 course option instead, and not spend so much. The valet put two bottles of cold water in the car when we left...nice cute toucSA"

"This no-menu delight surprised and pleased us in many ways. First, answer the server's questions carefully, because your meal depends on the details. Select your wine with the same thought, not on a price tag. Each of the seven courses provided another pleasure in service, presentation and taste. The wine complemented each course beautifully. The chef did indeed take our wine choice into consideration. It was a lovely evening for our birthday celebration. We’ll be back with or without a birthday to celebrate."

"Although pricey, the food was amazing -- as good as anything that I have eaten in well-known food cities, e.g., NYC, New Orleans, Chicago. It made for a very memorable 30th Anniversary. I particularly liked the innovative fixed-price menu, and the "surprise me" with what you want to prepare -- but, only after an extensive interview of my likes and dislikes. The wine list also was extensive, and innovative. The service was very attentive, but not pushy. Everyone should save their money and try Jezebel's at least once. You will want to save up for another visit. I am looking forward for a return visit, perhaps when the weather is warmer and the outdoor patio is more comfortable. I hope that Austinites will support this fine restaurant"
